Witness looks like he'd get winded rather quickly. 2-1 on the Okie.

What about choice of weapons, the guest list, the rules about physicians on site.

A gentleman would have invited the witness to "step outside".

Sounds more like he responded to a witness (Teamsters president Sean O'Brien, who has never been seen in the same room as fat pig Brian Stelter, IYKWIM) who had actually issued a written threat of violence to a sitting United States Senator - "you know where to find me, any place, any time" - look for longer cuts of the video and you will see that Mullins is quoting from an O'Brien tweet (or whatever we call them now). This after O'Brien had (also in writing) assailed Mullins' character, called him a fraud, etc.

Wouldn't threatening a U.S. Senator before whom you will be appearing constitute a crime (hint - threatening U.S. officials is a Class D or C felony, usually carrying maximum penalties of 5 or 10 years under 18 U.S.C. § 875, 18 U.S.C. § 876, and other statutes). Shouldn't O'Brien be locked up at least as long as the Jan. 6th protesters?

Everyday we get closer to our 21st century "Caning of Senator Sumner" moment. Things are accelerating.

A Senator who wrestled in HS and college, teaches wrestling now, and has a 5-0 MMA record vs a pasty union goon? Not a difficult choice who to bet on there!

Were the parties reversed you'd see praise for the Senator--a real FAFO moment, Mike Tyson's quote "social media made y'all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it," all that good stuff, but since the Senator is a republican we'll get shrieks about norms and decorum and the dignity of the office.

Earnest Prole said...

This on the same day two House Republicans got into a physical altercation.

As Will Smith proved, there’s nothing less manly than publicly losing your composure and reverting to junior-high playground behavior.

These buffoons turn these "hearings" into a joke. Not just the juvenile picking a fight, but the waste of everyone's time that is subjecting "witnesses" to having to sit there and have MOCs giving speeches. And then the chattering monkey brigade screeches and claps about how great it was when, in fact, when the person asking questions makes speeches instead, the speech doesn't mean a damn thing. It proves nothing.

The whole idea of a hearing is to get the witnesses to give statements. If you're competent, you can get the witness to make the points you want. If you're a boob, you'll make speeches instead.

With Fetterman waving the Israeli flag at the Jew haters camped outside the Capitol, he is now the senator with the most honor and dignity.

Imagine that.

Sen. Mullin is an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation. It's appalling that the Teamsters president S. O'Brien would verbally demean and belittle an indigenous person. Waiting for the Democrat outrage against O'Brien in 3, 2, 1...

Mullin wasn't going to fight. He is an intemperate coward who likely would use the two heavy butts behind him to take care of an invited witness who had the audacity to disagree with a know-it-all MAGAt.

Apparently, the senator has/had a 5-0 MMA record and is inducted into the Oklahoma Wrestling HOF.

The union goon got off lucky.

From the scant details in this report, I do not think any less of this man. We could do with more pugnaciousness. I'm tired of Mitt Romney-style acquiescence and chumminess with people who want to see us under a guillotine.

No rational person believes that these men were going to fight. It was a brief moment of levity, nothing more.

The lefty democratical labor union pudge boy threatened the Senator from Oklahoma via X and the Senator called him out on the spot.

This will play well with the Oklahoma electorate as they have not yet been fully democratical soy-boy-ized yet.

Watch the whole exchange ... including the senator reading (verbatim) the challenge put forward by Mr. Union Toughguy. The goon simply got called out.

But I agree. Don't do it in that setting. Kick his fat ass somewhere else.

Way to make the union thug look tough and make yourself looks like a dork. One thing I learned as a first year associate: you NEVER (EVER) make a threat unless you are prepared to go through with it. That was premeditated theatre and he made himself into a pussy. He's one of those "hold me back" guys. And, hilariously, the guy "holding him back" is...BERNIE SANDERS?! 🤣 What a loser.

Here’s how ChatGPT responded when I asked what Sean O’Brien’s tweet meant:

“The statement "Quit the tough guy act in these senate hearings. You know where to find me. Anyplace, Anytime cowboy." appears to be a combination of a request or suggestion and a challenge.

The phrase "Quit the tough guy act in these senate hearings" suggests a desire for the person being addressed to stop behaving in a confrontational or aggressive manner during Senate hearings. It could be a call for more cooperative or civil conduct.

The second part, "You know where to find me. Anyplace, Anytime cowboy," can be interpreted as a challenge or an invitation. The use of "cowboy" adds a somewhat informal and perhaps confrontational tone. The speaker is essentially saying that they are available and ready to engage in a confrontation or discussion, implying that the other person should stop posturing and meet them face-to-face if they have something to say or settle.

Overall, it seems like a mix of a request for more civil behavior and a challenge to back up any tough talk with direct action or discussion.”

I don't doubt his anger at being slurred, but he made a complete ass of hisself. The only bright spot is that it was just a Senate Hearing, just Bernie's Senate Hearing (even worse), so.... no Federal money was wasted in excess of what is already being pissed away to pay for the hearings.

If the Senator was serious, he would have arranged to meet the Union mug by 'accident' in the rotunda, with some cameras that just happened to be there, to ask the bolillo if he wanted to macho-up his fat mouth.

For those who don't know, bolillo is a pejorative south-of-the-border term for out-of-shape older white folks. Literally, a bolillo is a doughy, soft, puffy Mexican yeast roll.

Per a hasty Google search, mutual combat by consenting combatants is legal only in Texas and Washington in the US. And even then, introduction of weapons into the fight gets the police involved and automatically results in stiff charges. So guys, either start drunker to do this foolishness in a public hearing, or take the hearing into executive session to hash out such a disagreement out of the public view. Nobody wants to watch, really.

Humperdink said...

Having been personally threatened by union thuggery, I can tell there would never have been a fight. Union thugs do operate without a gang in support. They never go solo.

Just this one time I wish that the former MMA fighter had been allowed to teach the bullying union thug a lesson in public. Sure it’s not what’shisname beating his opponent with a cane like the old days but once in a while Congress should come to blows. Cmon it’s two Oklahoma guys! McCarthy’s chickenshit elbow to the kidneys and a simultaneous march for Jews makes for quite a day on the Hill.

Native American Senators (at least real Native American Senators) do not take guff from anyone. Fauxcahontas I'm looking at you--you spread a lot of guff.

But both the union guy and the Senator put their foot in it on this exchange. Senatorial elephants should ignore pricks from pigmies. Their hide needs to be thicker. And I don't doubt that this senator could have wiped the floor with that union guy. College wrestling int he Midwest is serious business.

So you were there under the chair with him? How do you know this.

Irish democrats from Boston generally just beat up blacks, so this doesn't make sense...

Who says Senate hearings are dull?! Senator Mullin could have made a statement offering to address their dispute outside, after the hearing, but the "You stand up!", "No, you stand up!" exchange is pretty silly.
