The Washington Post writes an ambiguous headline.

"Georgetown professor confronts white nationalist Richard Spencer at the gym — which terminates his membership."

When I opened the tag for that article (hours ago) I assumed that the professor got his membership terminated, but now I see I am wrong.
An Alexandria gym terminated the membership of white nationalist Richard Spencer last week after he was confronted by a Georgetown University professor who recognized him and lambasted him over his alt-right views.
Why was the person who got confronted terminated?

The professor, C. Christine Fair, of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, asked Spencer if he was Richard Spencer, and when he denied it (because he didn't want trouble, she said: "Of course you are, so not only are you a Nazi — you are a cowardly Nazi." And: "I just want to say to you, I’m sick of your crap... As a woman, I find your statements to be particularly odious; moreover, I find your presence in this gym to be unacceptable, your presence in this town to be unacceptable."

Finally, as the professor tells it, the general manager told her she was creating a "hostile environment" at the gym, and "Fair responded that Spencer’s views create a 'hostile environment' for gym employees who are women and people of color." But later:
Fair said she was contacted by a corporate representative for the gym last week, who informed her that Spencer’s membership had been terminated. The gym wanted her to come in to provide more information about the incident.“I’d do it again,” she said of the episode. “I told the fellow, ‘I think we can have a deal here: You don’t let any more Nazis in, and I won’t be making a scene.’ ”

I don't know who this guy is, but I don't believe a word of anything the press writes about anything that they think will hurt Trump.

I think I know what the "C" stands for.

The gym leadership sounds like complete cowards.

I finally get it...duh. This is the person whose views have been used by Democrats and the media to smear all conservatives and Trump voters as more horrible than Hitler.

Qwinn: Nobody knew who Spencer was before the media, out of nowhere, decided to call him the "leader" of the alt-right. Which they of course did because they couldn't find anyone else on the right who fits the bizarre caricatures of their narrative.

In fact, I think it's 75/25 at this point that he's a moby. They created him for precisely that purpose, he's in on it, and he says outrageous things precisely so conservatives in general can be tarred with the brush.

I don't think he's a moby, per se, just an attention-whore with a shtick that happens to align nicely with brain-dead media "narrative". See also, David Duke. The media may not invent these people, but they give them "jobs".

And since it wasn't really working, I suspect *this* situation was concocted precisely to gin up sympathy from the Right for him, so that the sympathy/defenses can be quoted and the tarring will more effective thereby. Don't fall for it.

Tells you about how far gone we are into Clown World, that it's less disturbing to think that Professor Fair is an honest charlatan in cahoots with media shenanigans, than to recognize that unhinged cat-ladies are considered perfectly acceptable hires for prestige academic institutions.

Mathew, what gym do you belong to? You are being disruptive and should be booted out of your gym. I bet you are a Marxist too. Where do you work? Because Marxists shouldn't be allowed to work in this city.

It seems to me that this was perfectly OK. She availed herself of her right to speak freely. Once the owner was confronted with the situation, the owner had a choice. The owner chose to expel the nazi. The fact that I have free-speech rights does not mean that I can avoid being shunned for what I say. In fact, I think shunning is just as much my right as speaking freely. Bravo to the professor! Down with Nazis!

Matthew Goggins: Also, I don't think it's good that people are defending Richard Spencer. The guy is a bad person. He's an anti-Semite, and he even seems to admire Hitler.

Despite your childish writing style, I'll be willing to take you seriously if presented with evidence that you show as much alacrity in naming and shaming unapologetic admirers of Lenin, Mao, Pol Pot, Che Guevara, etc., and supporting the cancellation of their gym memberships, as you do for suspected "neo-nazis".

I'm afraid that kicking out all the "bad persons" who admire evil people might have serious financial repercussions for the fitness business, though. Especially in areas with lots of institutions of higher learning.

Didn't your parents tell you that if you can't say something nice, ...

But anyway, if someone were recruiting people for the communist cause, I'd say kick them out too, and I'd certainly support a gym owner who did that.

As for the financial repercussions, I'm not telling gym owners that they have to do any of this, but if they want to do it, then they have my support.

Well, Looky looky here.....This woman who got Richard Spencer kicked out seems to have a problem with ANYBODY who doesn't THINK like she does...THIS is progressivism in a nutshell...

I wonder how many Hollywood directors and actors are commies. We should start up a blacklist or something. Starve them out.

Oh I know! We need a Congressional Committee on UnAmerican Activities to investigate these people!

I swear, the Amercican left must be the dumbest creatures on the planet

"He even admires Hitler" said the guy in the Che t-shirt.

As a US Marine, I know we stole the Nazis superior helmet design. We even admired their theories of manuever warfare and combined arms so much that we adopted them as our own.

Patton admired Rommel. Even respected him.

Should we shun US Marines and tear down Patton's statue?

I have a different take on this. I think Fair was really trying to hit on Spencer.

Professor Fair isn't white; she's Jewish. Seriously, do you think Richard Spencer and Robert Spencer (who recently suffered an even greater attack by deranged SJWs) belong to the same race? Does Al Franken look like he could fit in Benjamin Franklin's family tree. No way!

Spencer should sue the gym for discrimination.
