So the update confirms that anonymous sources are--how to put this?--not always reliable. A newsperson's anonymously correcting another anonymous newsperson at the paper that has turned anonymous quotes and tips into something of an art form is, to say the least, amusingly ironic.

People cry at weddings, that does not mean the wedding is not amicable.

But anytime someone below retirement age leaves an organization without having a fantastic new job lined up, you can safely assume it is not amicable, tears or no tears.
