"It is disgusting and despicable the way that certain media constantly harass the pregnant Kim Kardashian."

"It's enough that they persistently project a negative focus on women's physical shapes; but a public bullying and attacking of a pregnant woman because of her growing shape is just lower than low."

ADDED: "Could Kim Kardashian, whose dubious fashion choices have made her pregnancy curves look even larger than life, be teeing herself up for a deal with Weight Watchers?... Kim has drawn ridicule for strutting around in tight-fitting couture maternity wear, including sky-high heels, snug dresses and A-line skirts...."

Unfair? Sure. But with fame comes notoriety, especially when your source of fame is a reality show about your life. When you put out a distorted, aggrandized view of how you live, is it really so surprising that you attract warped comments in return?

The only reason more than 100 people know the Kardasians is because they have made their lively hood, being a public spectacle. That is not something that can be turned off. It is disgusting and despicable they way the Kardasians constantly harass my internet and TV time by thrusting themselves on me. (that includes the staid Althouse)

The media holds us back in our evolutionary development more than it helps. The best thing is to ignore most of it as much as possible IMO.

Gotta give Kim credit for shaving her moustache.

If Kardashian were a registered republican the Huffers would join in the piling on and Andrew Sullivan would claim the baby was Lindsey Lohan's. Good times.

Hard to sympathize with someone who is beautiful, born into a wealthy family, and is rewarded with even more largesse simply for allowing a camera crew to follow her around, and for having a team of writers script some ginned-up drama between her and her family members. That makes it tough for us average Joes to give a crap about Mean Girls saying Mean Things about her.

What rank hypocrisy! Christensen is a former Miss Denmark and a model whose entire career is based on having an idealized body type, but it's the "media" that "persistently project a negative focus on women's physical shapes." Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian is someone who has made millions by turning the most intimate moments of her private life into public spectacle. Classic example of the cliche: if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Solzhenitsyn used to say that suffering gave the Russian people greater character than people have in the west.

I think our collective character probably does get weaker and weaker with each passing decade.

Really, a Kardashian story?

In other breaking news, some teenagers in Kalispell were caught throwing empty beer bottles.

I would never defend the parasitic culture of the 'glamour industry,' but considering that Ms. Kardashian's notoriety originates with a leaked sex tape . . .

A phrase about getting flea from lying with dogs comes to mind.

Am I mistaken, or didn't Kim Kardashian kickstart her climb to fame by releasing her own sextape?

I agree that the way the media (and the public) treats celebrities as their own property, to be praised and petted or hated and scorned with the shallow, adolescent fickleness, is terrible and inhumane. Those who are famous and celebrated for actual achievements deriving from their own talents and ambition, (those in the arts and sciences and other areas of consequence or interest to the public) do not deserve such treatment. Actually, no one does, but those whose hunger for fame leads them to seek it by whatever means necessary or expedient and despite their having no talent or accomplishments to warrant the public's interest--in other words, those such as Kim Kardashian and her siblings, whose fame is predicated on...their "fame"...cannot fairly complain when they experience the tribulations of celebrity.

Once you have put your leaking snatch on public display, it is unseemly to bitch about the images of your swollen belly.

How much did PimpMomma (that would be Kim Kardashian's Mother) pay Helena Christensen to write that letter?

Yet another woman with the curse of pregnancy inflicted on her! When will this long national nightmare end!

As they say in the Combat Applications Group, "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?".

The woman looks better pregnant than most women do before they've been deflowered.

The Kardashians make their living off the tabloids.

Otherwise they might (have been) be just an afternoon of entertaiment on Maury or Steve Wilkos.

Kim who?

Oh, you mean the west coast "Snooki".

Yawn.

That is what has to be remembered, they made their money from being publically famous. Almost any publicity is good publicity, but it is hard to keep up the completely celeberty based sort of success that they have without being innovative, and this is just one more example of their innovation. They do this sort of thing better than almost anyone else these days. Sure, it can be a little gross, but keep in mind that many of the women following this family have their own weight issues anyway, and live the Kardashians' lives vicariously, while most of those who condemn Kim here don't follow her or her family.

Oh, please. I don't condemn her, there's nothing about her or her entire family worth condemnation. I laugh at her, and those who "follow her."

I simply say she's nothing I would follow...for any reason. I live in Dearborn right next to Detroit ... we've got plenty of overweight light medium and dark skinned chicks around, why would a fat Kardashian bump the give a dink meter? Kimaye is right up there with Honey Boo Boo's mom.

She is famous, sho nuff, as a symbol of our times. Doesn't everyone get knocked up by a boyfriend before their divorce is even near final?

Considering this woman openly courted celebrity - starting with her intentionally releasing a home-made porn tape and going down (heh!) from there - she has no one to blame but herself.

And this goes for everyone who is a 'star'. These folks crave to be famous and once there bitch about how it sucks.

Fark them.

Did anyone even see this sex tape? They all look like cattle to me. Maybe she gets over on skill? I daresay Bruce Jenner is the prettiest of the lot and that's not saying much. My God, sluts are sluts, you buy them by the pound.
