On the 2nd anniversary of the Wisconsin uprising, "about 100" protesters march up State Street.

"The rally began on Library Mall in the late afternoon, with participants, including a number of UW-Madison students, sporting anti-Walker and pro-union signs."
The protesters made their way down State Street alternately taking up call and response chants. A few supporters joined from the sidewalk before the ralliers ended their march at the Capitol while singing “Solidarity Forever” to the tune of “Battle Hymn of the Republic.”

Volunteers in red MTI hats passed out hand-held candles and as darkness set in, people passed lighters to start “The Fire Still Burns Vigil” to represent the protesters’ continued work against Walker. The Capitol steps were quickly engulfed with flickering candles and anti-Walker protest songs.

These guys want the taxpayers to foot their bills, while they party and play.

Funny how they phrase that as a great political crusade, isn't it?

I'd find them more interesting, and most compelling, if they'd just be up front about what they really want.

They want a job where they don't have to work very much. They want to get paid for gassing out politics and literature. They want to smoke dope and get laid.

Come on, guys, cut the crap and dump the martyrdom bullshit!

People want to know what Obama did during the Benghazi attack? We won. Stop whining, losers.

Walker wins two elections in two years? The Fire Still Burns

Makes sense to me. Some people still celebrate The Confederacy.

You know if they did, I might just join that march myself, assuming it will get results. Chicks are cheaper than ever, but have you seen the price of weed lately. Where's our Obama stash?

Please shut these people up! Living here is becoming ore amd more disgusting every single day.

And these idiots ask why we have such a hard time bringing new jobs to our state?

A few months ago Madison Magzine was lamenting about the state of Madison and why it took so long to get development done. All you have to do is look at the people in charge of Madison and this kind of crap and you see why reasonalbe business people don't want to come to our state.

Yes, we want our money for nothing and our chicks for free.

Early indications are that legalization of weed won't lead to lower prices, due to government sin taxes.

The price of the chicks continues to decline.

I'm assuming the local media has applied its 10x lens on the crowd size.

Uprising?

Is this the uprising of government union workers against the shlubs they live off? Uprising. It's beautiful what a con they play. And it's permanent. A permanent con. Truly a grifter's dream come true.

I'm sure you could get at least 100 UW students together for anything even hinting of fun and providing a break from studying.

Not meaningful.

If you want to prevent this kind of thing, just get the word out that there will be a quiz afterward.

How is it possible for "about 100 people" to "engulf the Capitol steps"?

Other than in a sympathetic reporter's mind, that is...

Hey Manboobs Mahal,

When is that indictment of Walker coming down?

Maybe if you joined these other braindead idiots in their chanting, it would make it happen.

Up sparkles!

Zzzzzzz... huh? What? Did something go by? zzzzZZZZ.

The pro-Walker people should have walked toward them with "I WON!" signs.

Population of Wisconsin (est. July 2012): 5,726,398. Neo-hippy "protesters": maybe 100. Do the math. Why does this ultra-marginal group of people get the ink and/or electrons? (And why does anyone here respond to the deranged poses of Mr. Mahal?)

Maybe I've watched The Dark Knight Rises a few too many times, but "The Fire Still Burns" sounds kinda Bane-ish...and even funnier in his goofy voice.

In my head, I'm hearing them sing that as they march.

Dom North has Scott Walker's number.

With a squad of well-paid protectors accompanying him everywhere, he raises big money for the right in posh hotels– a personality trip that seems to fascinate the media even though the pundits should drop a word or two about things like: His state administration is a disaster. Millions lost or squandered through an inept private-public agency to replace a real commerce department. Secret legal teams rotate space with incapable yes-men. Surrounding governors laugh openly at Wisconsin’s failure.

Actually, according to the article, the steps were engulfed by candles and songs. It sounds very surrealistic.
