"A man who reported to police that he was beaten outside the Missoula Club early Sunday morning because he was gay..."

"... has been cited for making a false report to law enforcement."
“The decision to file criminal charges was due in part to the sense of fear and anger that quickly developed after Baken had identified a specific business and possible suspects in his allegations,” Missoula Police Lt. Scott Brodie said in a statement.
The terrorism of a false report when people don't know it's false.
“Joseph Baken was contacted by Missoula police detectives and during a subsequent interview he admitted that the alleged assault against him did not occur as it was reported,” the statement said.
I wonder why he did it. He had a beat-up looking head, acquired attempting to do a back flip off a street curb. Why take that to the police and make up a story that "three men had beaten him outside the Mo Club at about 1:30 a.m. after he asked where to find a gay bar"? (Wait. The Mo Club isn't a gay bar?!) Was this guy an idiot? Since there was video of the back flip — which the police later received — signs point to stupid. But another motivation could be to promote political interests through creating fear, and that's arguably the definition of terrorism.
Missoula Police Chief Mark Muir credited community cooperation in quickly resolving the case.
Thanks for sending the video. Nice anti-terrorism from the community.
That resolution “will hopefull[y] allow the GLBTI community some needed relief from the fear that was virally spreading across the country,” Muir said.
(GLBTI? The "I" is for "intersex," in case you are wondering.)

Not intersex.

Interspecies.

How many more letters can they add on to GLBTI?

clearly they are just making things up as they go along. If Intersex had been around years ago, then smart acronymn people would have gone with:

GLIBT or LIBTG or BLITG :)

Can rest of the downtrodden sexual variants get in on the alphabet?

I want to believe this is a joke, but I'm not sure these days.

The idea that there is, or there should be, a "community" of people based on sexual orientation is ridiculously stupid and actively harmful to individuals of said sexual orientations. The same problem exists in the idea of a "black community".

These sorts of terms are used exclusively by PR departments, politicians and lobbying groups, which should give you an idea of the illegitimacy of the concept.

As to why the dope in question lied about his injuries, the answer is: attention! Playing martyr is very attractive to some people.

If you read the story there is a push to get gay bashing listed as a "bias" crime in Montana. That could be the political motivation.

Not a joke. Gives "must love cats" a new meaning.

Is bias a lesser felony than hate? Is fear a misdemeaner then?

I wonder why he did it.

Some people just enjoy lying. I don't know why.

There was a 'riot' at a ball game when I was in high school (it was just a fight, not really a big deal) but the media all were interviewing students and many of them were making stuff up just for fun. Which was reported as truth on television. Pretty funny, but also a nice object lesson on exactly how much I should trust media reports.

I had to ask my nephew in SF about those last two.

My education is still sadly lacking. "Intersex" is still not a word with a meaning since it is other than gay, lesbian, bisexual, and trans-sexual.

What could it be? A rest period?

Go to the Wiki for this. There are as many letters as you want.

As to the offense, I think this is going to quickly surpass all those faux race crimes very quickly as the homosexuals press their agenda.

Providing incentive to commit fraud engenders a dysfunctional outcome. That was likely unforeseen by people and cooperatives with good intentions.

So, asexual is still not recognized as a category of confusion. Asexual is the biological counterpart to atheism. Well, that too should be normalized, because it offers so much value to society and humanity. However, unlike a personal philosophy, which is highly subjective, evolutionary fitness is not.

Aren't we just one pronounceable acronym away from full social acceptance?

GBLTI is one letter away from a word. Add an A for agorasexual and you have all the letters you need for LIBTAG. An E for esexual gives you GIBLET.

I figured it was a literal "I."

Given the level of narcissicsm on the left, especially at the top, I figured it was their fastest growing demographic.

Wait a minute.

"That resolution “will hopefull[y] allow the GLBTI community some needed relief from the fear that was virally spreading across the country,” Muir said."

So, if the report was false, how much of "the fear that is virally spreading across the country." is false?

Missoula is a very tolerant town. Think Madison, or Berkeley, or Boulder..a nuance lost on the FB idiots who assumed it was a redneck cowtown where gays get beat up for being gay, I'm sure, just all the time, right? /sarc

Was there ever one of these stories that was true? Even the Mathew Shephard story was spun for the peanut gallery.

My guess is, the LBGTI crowd is *still* deeply conflicted and need to make shit up to feed their persecution complexes.

"Intersex" means roughly "with some masculine and some feminine physical sex characteristics." If, say, you have a vagina, and also testicles, you are "intersex." The usual medical line on such cases was to "assign" a sex at birth, and surgically remove whatever didn't conform to it; more recently, a lot of doctors have taken to leaving the anatomy alone, so that there are a non-negligible number of people walking around with gender diversity in their own underwear, as it were. A tricky state to be in, I'd say.

Farmer said...

I've never understood the "T" part of LGBT. Why do you want to include people in your group who insist that their gender is essentially a birth defect and want to change it? Isn't that the opposite of what you're asserting about the nature of orientation?

Amartel said...

Re: The "T" in LGBT. It's there because "LGBT" activism isn't really about human sexuality or humanity generally; it's about scoring political points by dividing and conquering, getting as many people emotionally invested and identified as oppressed weirdos as possible. Kind of like "gay marriage" isn't really about gays and lesbians in committed relationships who want to get married; it's about scoring political points by dividing and conquering, etc.

No, I mean what is the activist rationale for it?

They should stick with hermaphrodite. Then it's all consonants. Queer and Questioning are good too. Stay with the consonants. GLBTHQQ

I'm sure this guy will face consequences just as dire as women who falsely accuse men of rape and destroy their lives. You know, none.

Why claim to have been attacked? The political reason is part of it, but there's also a more basic reason: he could become a cause célèbre. Had there not been video, he would have been invited on television shows, to colleges to speak on hate and intolerance, and so on.

"Intersexuals" is what Obama calls transexuals, because he's not good with prefixes.

bgates said...

Isn't that the opposite of what you're asserting about the nature of orientation?

No. A transexual doesn't want to change a thing about his orientation, he wants to undergo drastic physical changes because of his orientation.

A transsexual's point of view is that his true gender is the opposite of his physical, actual gender; he was born this way, but it was wrong. He says he was born with a problem that needs correcting.

The homosexual's view is that if you suggest he was born with a problem that needs correcting, you're an ignorant, bigoted homophobe.

Those two views seem to contradict each other.

The men with 2 penii have to hook up with the women with the 2 vagii. That's how they fit in.

Went to dinner with my dad tonight, and picked up the local hyper-left wing college weirdo paper(don't let it be said I don't listen to the other side), and there was an article about pedophiles in it.

The pedo-bears were claiming that they fet put upon by ALL societies. Just because they like to rape chil...excuse me, that's the hate talking...like to "love" children.

I warned you people, you open the door to same sex marriage and every deviant on the planet gets to claim the same rights, otherwise you're just a hater and a hypocrit.

I don't care if that hurts anyones feelings, that's the unvarnished truth. Some people just don't think of the consequences of their actions.

There was a graphic going around that was so wild, I just had to save the image. For "gender identity" it listed:

female, male, androgynous, agender, pandgender, polygendery, third-gender, genderqueer, genderfulid, two-spirit, non-binary and queer identified.

For "sexual attraction" it listed:

homosexual, heterosexual, pansexual, bisexual, demisexual, asexual, femmesexual, massexual and queer.

For "romantic attraction" it listed;

homoromantic, heteromantic, panromanti, biromantic, polyromantic, demiromantic, aromantic, femmeromantic, masromantic and queer.

It also listed "gender presentation" (masculine, feminine and androgynous), "physical biology" (dyadic, intersex), personal pronouns (he, she, ze, sie, they, ey, it, and xe).

My favourite part? Species identity. Otherkin, human and non-human identified.

Then the maker of the graphic added a note saying that if ey missed anything, contact (tumblr name) and ey would be happy to add it.

And then they get all offended when people think they're messed up. :-/
