"I see you've got some kind of a 'G.I. Jane' theme going today."

Says Meade, and I reply, "Yeah... hmmm... I should do a post about... you know, she has her problems."

"Goldie Hawn."

"No, it's not Goldie Hawn. Demi Moore."'

"I thought it was Goldie Hawn."

"Goldie Hawn is 'Private Benjamin'...

"Demi Moore is G.I. Jane...."

See the difference? Demi stood up to torture in G.I. Jane, but in real life, she's crushed by romantic heartbreak and seeking help from Deepak Chopra.
"['The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success'] is my bible. It is a practical guide to the fulfillment of your dreams..."
Deepak Chopra is a male, but he is distinctively nonmilitaristic:
Although terrorism is a tactic, what lies behind it is an idea, and once an idea seeps into people’s brains, bombs and mortar attacks won’t defeat it....

Our only hope... is to...  offer a more enticing idea in the long run. Peace and social reform are both enticing ideas....

Bush’s war on terror was a horrendous mistake, an ideological delusion and a failed tactic. It alienated most of the world and created as many extremists as it defeated. Obama knows all this. Now it’s time for him to lead us out of a self-created quagmire.
But enough about the terrorists. What can be done about Ashton Kutcher? Adultery is a tactic, what lies behind it is an idea, and once an idea seeps into people’s brains, bombs and mortar attacks won’t defeat it. Your only hope is to offer a more enticing idea in the long run....

Saw GI Jane (there was a mistake). Demi just wasn't right for it.

They needed somebody with a little more body mass. Angie Jolie maybe, or Demi when she was about 20 (yeah, dat's da ticket).

In any case, the tabloids are all saying Demi thought if she just stayed scrawny, the age thing wouldn't be an issue.

Sorry, she looks like 3rd Army made it to the camp just in time for her.

Right, which why Obama rained the B-2 bombs down on Muammar Qaddafi, sent more troops to Afghanistan, increased the use of drones to do targeted strikes in countries that never attacked the US, and codified indefinite detention in US law.

I wonder if Deepak remembers all the terrorist attacks that occurred prior to 9/11, prior to Afghanistan and Iraq where military solutions were not used?

Not Angie Jolie, she looks borderline anorexic now. Saw a recent photo of Goldie Hawn here not long ago and she looked like she could quickly dispense with GI Jane without a problem.

Many of my acquaintances tease me and ask why I believe theories of alternate or parallel universes and its because I read liberal and left wing columnists.

All I need to know about Deepak Chopra.

And what kind if name is Ashton Kutcher? That sounds like some kind of female genital condition that requires a special Federal law mandating treatment and coverage by health insurance.

Bgates that was hysterical. Other than the clergyman, the other guests didn't seem to think it was funny.

Private Benjamin was a cute movie, but it's one of those that I think should cut off before it does. In this case, when they graduate boot camp. Same with Stripes.

GI Jane was a good movie. It actually exposed the use of gender politics in DC for trade offs between corrupt politicians that have say so over military budgets and self enriching earmarks. And it also showed the false sex slander industry cranked up to destroy opponents at will.

Demi's boy toy must have been fun while he lasted. I actually feel sorry for her for being used and dumped because she made the mistake of loving an actor.

Exactly, except we'd keep seeing Ripley, not GI Jane.

Sooo...let's see...Charlize Theron?

The Seven Samurai

Awesome movie.
An absolute must see before you cack.
Demi Moore not so much.

There's some hoochie running for the senate seat of the lady what got shot in Arizona, I think. She's an honest to g*d fighter pilot what has actual combat fighter pilot type experience. I bet she'd make a good senator.

Demi can cry on Deepak's shoulder for 5K an hour (or am I low balling it?).

A feature, not a bug…and then at SERE Flight Officer Ripley could strip down to her undies to escape…..

Wow! Maybe "GI Jane" should have won a Pulitzer.

Even when they make a movie about some rough, tough, female in the Army she's beautiful.

GI Jane was the most unintentionally funny move I've ever seen. But military service is required to get the joke.

Whattya try’n to say, that Navy JAG Officers or Naval Intelligence Officers aren’t all hotties? Next you’ll be telling me that NCIS agents don’t look like Mark Harmon…..

I'm not sure Dr. Chopra is really an expert on terrorism. DOes he mean to say that the "idea" behind terror was the same when practiced by anarchists in 19th century Russia or by Macedonians in IMRO, or by the PLO, or the provisional IRA?

Maybe he thinks terror is such a cute tactic thaqt any idea behind it is always invicible.

I seem to remember magazines and talk shows playing up the "cougar" angle and giving Demi the "you go girl" for landing a younger, hot guy (or so they say).

Now, of course, those same shows are taking him to task for cheating while they dredge up all the gory details about her pathetic attempts to keep herself young and hip and thin.

The contrast between Demi Moore's Looks and the average "Female Veteran" was only one of the unintentionally funny aspects.

Of course, not all Military Men look like Tom Cruise, but some do. This is because if gave young, good-looking men and women a choice between (1) a Navy Seal/Fighter pilot and (2) being a famous model/Soap Opera Star - there would be a significant gender difference. Especially if you exclude Gays.

Deepak Chopra is a scumbag. That's all that needs to be said whenever his name comes up. Just point out that Deepak Chopra is a squishy bag of scum.

Demi Moore is a kind of sad and pathetic creature. Her rise to stardom was so dramatic and so total that it broke her. Once upon a time, she was the queen of Hollywood, insulated from the real world by layers of people who either adored her or were willing to act as though they did.

However, over the past few decades, that insulation has been stripped away and her star has faded almost completely. She has a ton of money but no hope at anything like a normal life; she's basically a Norma Desmond waiting to happen.

That squishy bag of scum that we call Deepak Chopra preys on such people. Remember, he was Michael Jackson's "friend" and "advisor" for over two decades...

OK OK, GI Jane was a not a pulitzer prize work, but it told an interesting story with god acting. And I bet the Navy Seals liked the attention they got

Anyway, this is a part time breast blog.

I also liked "GI Jane". I'm looking forward to the sequel. "GI Jane and the Sands of Iwo Jima" or "Saving GI Jane"

rcocean said...

The New "Sands of Iwo Jima"

Sgt Stryker - Demi Moore as the tough, hardbitten, female Vet

Conway - William Smith as the private who knows what discrimination can do to a man.

Al Thomas - Gary Busy as the crazy redneck racist/sexist who causes friction in the platoon

Pfc. Benny Regazzi - Bob Smith as the funny gay sidekick who wants to introduce "Gay Marriage" to Japan.

Julie Bishop - Whoopi Goldberg as the Honolulu prostitute with a baby, who's set straight by Demi Moore in a heart rendering girl-to-girl talk.

rc...Why not remake South Pacific with Demi cast as the topless Togonese Liat in love with Lt Joe Cable played by Ashton Kutcher. The end would be so sad.

We could cast The Professor as Ellie Forbush and Meade would play Emile DeBeque videoing the Bloody Mary souvenir sellers over at the harbor.

With a writer like Michener we may win a Pulitzer.

As you know, The Tales of the South Pacific is a lose compendium of short stories that started James Michener's fabulous career.

In one 10 page story called "The Milk Run" there is the best explanation of Americans at war that I have ever read.

rcocean said...

Trad Guy,

I've always meant to read Michener's "Tales of the South pacific" & given your recommendation, I'll make the time.

thanks.

Anyone who looks to Deepak Chopra for anything other than amusement is beyond help. "I'm not sure Dr. Chopra is really an expert on terrorism. " I'm very sure Dr Chopra is not an expert on anything.

Fraud. He's an expert on fraud.

Most translate that as "a spiritual leader."

I usually shorten it to "a NewAger."

Henceforth, Gina Carano should be the model by which all female action stars are based. Beautiful and solid enough to make it plausible she could actually fight off most men.
