"Three American college students arrested Monday on suspicion of throwing Molotov cocktails..."

"...  during a protest in Cairo against Egypt's ruling military council were released Thursday..."

In other Molotov cocktail news: "Molotov madman who said on YouTube he would bomb Macy's is out of jail and back at Zuccotti Park."

At some point, these three idiots will return to the US, be interviewed by the press, elevated to a idealized "hero" status by Piers Morgan and then the fun begins. As an alumni of one of their schools, I would throw each out of their university designating their actions as criminal. A serious criminal act in Egypt is an equally serious criminal in the US regardless of motivation.

Egypt is not U.S.A.

Bye bye students. Forget your 'constitutional rights'. You don't have any in most of the world.

You will find out what Egyptian prisons are like and they ain't U.S.A. jails for sure.

The poverty in Egypt?

Beyond belief.

Now it's running out of money.

Did you know that we and the Egyptian government have subsidized the price of bread there for about 50 years? When Sadat tried to raise the price by about a 1/4 of a cent per loaf around 1977, riots almost toppled his government. This is part of the reason Egypt made peace with Israel. It was cooperate with the U.S. or be overthrown and watch your people starve.

Anyway, now this trio of Americans will come home and apply their skills here.

Darwin Award Candidates for sure.

Students abroad. I am sure that somebody at the dorm told them to stay the hell away from demonstrations, etc.

The bag with bottles and gasoline? "not ours, belongs to our buddy" Bet the Local cops got a big kick out of this.

These guys should be tossed out of both Egypt and their university gross lack of judgement.

They and their parents are lucky not to be planning funerals right now...

What Paul said. If those morons ever see the light of day again, it will be a miracle not unlike the raising of Dorcas from the dead.

The press is reporting that they are being freed. Thanks to the American Embassy and 50 years of American largesse. Interviews on MSM up next.

Paul and edutcher,

They are out of jail...

The students were to be taken to a physician for a medical examination and back to the police station for paperwork to be processed, then to their dorm rooms, she said. They may be able to call home afterward

Clearly, the people in charge in the Land of the Pyramids want something.

Egypt is not America. There should not be an automatic assumption that these kids were involved at all but it may well be they were set up. Egyptians are all in to conspiracy theories and blaming foreigners, The Jews etc is their way of absolving themselves of their own idiocies.

Absent massive foreign (read American) food aid by memorial day Egypt will be in a state of near complete collapse. A brilliant move by Hillary and Barack.
