Obama and the Loony Left need couples counseling.
Back together again.
Obama's not losing. One reason? Most people when they think of marriage think all they need to avoid are first cousins. Obama is different. Because there were lots of white people who chose him, TOO. He really did well, back in 2008.While the GOP never thought there was anything wrong with their gigolo, McCain. And, they definitely didn't see how Dubya contributed to the "bubble." All they remember was FLYING HIGH.Today? Everybody pretty much has crashed. (Partially due to the fact that INSTEAD of saving ... which the GREAT DEPRESSION taught our grandparents, and our great-grandparents, to do. Everybody in the first decade of 2000 ... saw their inflated paper worth ... as being a real cushion. When it wasn't.So, now?The white people think that if they maneuver in some religious choice ... (And, even the Mormon gets to count ... in a way religions usually lose most voters) ...You're stuck.2012 ... doesn't look like the top GOP choices are tops in anything at all. While everyone who wants a life in politics ... starting in 2016 ... thinks that's when they can come out of the woodwork. From Jeb to Christie.2016 will be the next "new hope" for the GOP.While because there's so much hatred for Obama ... nobody sees what happens when people go to vote."Hope and Change" has been used. So, there, too, the GOP will remain scoreless. Unless it's your religious faith that keeps you hanging onto the breezing through every single "group" ... that makes America a famous melting pot.(By the way Asians tend to vote for democraps.)And, with Hispanics? There's still lots of wiggle room. But believe what you want. All Obama has to do is stay clear of the European collapse. When will we know? Around the end of November 2011 ... When the G20 "mixes" it up in Hawaii.Obama will be smart to dither. And, then? Stay clear of Sarkozy and Merkel ... who need the USA to bail out the "investors" in Dusseldorf.
Obama may win...but he us definitely losing. His policies suck. I assume he is sincere but the end result will be failure. If Obama wins again, we lose. So, yeah, that battered girlfriend thing gets old.
Beat me, whip me, call me trash. Oh, how I love you. If I love you harder, I just know you will change.-Eynn D. Nile

Quite literally. The Blonde worked with more than a few like that. And, no, they never learn.Carol_Herman said...????
Don't believe the polls, Obama is not popular. People are lying to the pollsters because they don't want to be perceived as racist.
The Blonde worked with more than a few like that. And, no, they never learn. No never. Half the people in my family are in that category. They'll believe anything except that they need to vote for someone who isn't a Democrat. Otherwise, intelligent people who are smote with complete idiocy when it comes to politics.
The 2008 election was a perfect storm. Obama is done. Stick a fork in him. And so are the democrats. And they know it. The only question is can the republicans screw it up? With republicans that is always a real possibility, its the only reason the democrats are able to survive as a national party. If the republicans in spite of the RNC and states GOP apparatus don't muck things up too badly its only a question of how big a landslide and how large a majority in the Senate.Obama is the second coming of Hoover (who by the way was a progressive and whose policies Obama and the democrats are implementing or trying to implement.) But unlike the Hoover-FDR comparison (By the way FDR ran his campaign as if he was a republican, lower taxes, borrowing and spending) where FDR goes in to office at the bottom of the Depression, Obama in our compressed internet time took office at the time the economy had already cratered and was starting a comeback and instead his policies resulted in the worsening of the economy. The democrats had the perfect bullet proof trifecta for two years to get the legislation they believed necessary to resolve the economic problems through. Fortunately they didn't. But only due to their sheer incompetence. Nixon's Silent Majority will reemerge with a vengeance thanks to Obama and the democrats class warfare and their other idiot policies and actions. And the way things are going scandal wise, Obama & Co. have Nixon beat hands down in the scandal department. Fast & Furious is infinitely worse than Watergate. Solyndra is making Clinton look ethical in comparison. No small achievement. No doubt more scandals will be forthcoming. Holder's race is probably the only reason he won't go to jail.
This is awesome. The hippies down in Atlanta will not let John Lewis speak. LOL. Circular firing squad.
My democratic in-laws back in missouri who voted for this cluck are trying desperately to forget they ever voted for him. They can't be the only ones. You can't recapture 'lightning in a bottle'
By the way, the nostalgia campaign won't work. 2008 was about a lot of things. One of the key reasons Mr Obama won is because independent whites wanted to bury the charge that America is a racist country. Despite this, they still get called racists. They will not react favorably to that next time.
Rialby, that's just for openers. Check out Gateway Pundit - Code Pink trying to obstruct the wounded Warriors or surf the multiple stupidities in Gotham and elsewhere at Jammie Wearing Fool.Goerge Will, for once, sums it up best.
Good for Will. Now, I have to find out what Donna Brazile had to say. She usually misses the point by so much you can bet on the polar opposite of what she thinks.
In my neck of the woods (suburban DC), there are still waaay too many Obama/Biden stickers left on bumpers. And, no, it isn't just the black community.I know this is a really blue area, so it isn't representative of the country as a whole, but I'm not seeing a lot of public buyer's remorse over Obama just yet.
Yup. Ms. Brazile believes that is in response to the debt ceiling debate.
It really comes down to just 4 states - OH, PA, FL and IN. If the Republican cannot swing those states, we are screwed.
Obama is done. Stick a fork in him.Never underestimate the ability and willingness of the Democrats to cheat, steal, buy votes, vote early vote often, resurrect the dead, intimidate and threaten violence to get elected.Never.2016 will be too late to save the economy or save the country. I expect that we will in full tilt Totalitarian Boogie by then.
Rialby said...It really comes down to just 4 states - OH, PA, FL and IN. If the Republican cannot swing those states, we are screwed. He's at 46% approval in OH, 39 in FL, 36 in PA, and 42 in IN. Even if things stay the same, that means the uncounted unemployed will equal the the current "unemployed" rate by this time next year. And that's the good scenario. What DBQ says is true, but up to a point - though we should not get complacent, regardless. If it is so bad next year in all but the bluest states, there won't be much the OccupyEverywhere crowd can do.
Plenty of otherwise intelligent people convinced themselves to vote for Obama last time. They could be stupid again. Too soon to get cocky.
Plenty of otherwise intelligent people convinced themselves to vote for Obama last time. They could be stupid again. Too soon to get cocky. And, plenty will this time. They can't admit they're wrong. Blame it on Bush, blame it on Boehner, blame it on Rio. Just don't blame it on Obama and the fools that voted for him.
One operative question is will the MSM get the feeling again? If they do will they be able to gin up the feeling in the country. I don't think they can. In 2008 Obama was easy to make a blank slate onto which they could write their narrative lines. He is now a known quantity as a person and has a record as a president. Neither is attractive to a majority of Americans. Now if independents can vote for someone non-Black with out racial angst we have a shot.New theme song for the Republicans-BB King singing "The Thrill Is Gone."www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fk2prKnYnI&ob=av2n
I suspect we may end up with Romney/Cain. Can they beat Obama/Biden?
I suspect we may end up with Romney/Cain. Can they beat Obama/Biden?Yes. But there will be much sadness among those conservatives who thought Romney is too much of a RINO moderate to lead the brave new world of the Tea Party. But among most other people, not so much.
I think the key metric for 2012 is described in the form of a question: how many McCain '08 voters do you know who are planning on voting for Obama in '12?
Democrates to Obama..."Stop it somemore..."
Don't believe the polls, Obama is not popular. People are lying to the pollsters because they don't want to be perceived as racist. The Bradley Effect.
08 Obama voters can still consider themselves right if they can be convinced they'd been lied to, which is much more easy for anyone to admit to themselves, after all. Not really interested in gaining their votes if I can just discourage them & get them to stay home. <- this is also the Dems strategy vs. Repubs
Of voters who did NOT vote for Obama last time - I cannot imagine any of them changing direction, and voting for him this time.Of voters who DID vote for Obama last time, there are a lot of vocal, disaffected individuals, who have loudly announced that they will not vote for that clown again.Of those who will be first-time voters in the next election - most will either be young people, or new naturalized citizens. I mam unable to guess how these cohorts will vote - but the high unemployment rate among both groups most likely will not play to Obama's advantage. This election should be cakewalk for the GOP - but never underestimate the ability of the GOP power brokers to back the wrong horses.
It will be interesting to see if it comes down to people saying (in explanation of abandoning Obama's ship) that he wasn't *really* black. That would be a kicker.
I suspect we may end up with Romney/Cain. Can they beat Obama/Biden?I think so. And, right now that is what I expect - Cain has said that he would run with any of the other candidates than Perry as VP, and I think that was primarily aimed at Romney.Romney is the inside game, and, thus, not dependable to the right. Right now, I think him the most likely candidate. Cain would bring the true believers back. Besides, they speak the same language, at least with each other, both having been CEOs, and I think having similar work habits. It would also be a good combination against Obama/Biden. Cain would be a good attack dog, better than Biden. He doesn't make as many stupid statements, and doesn't go into never-never land when he speaks contemporaneously, but rather is good on his feet. And, never forget that he is a real black. Not half black who grew up in Indonesia and Hawaii, but rather, someone who grew up in the segregated south. Who has lived the Black experience and thrived, and come over to the Republican side as a result. How can anyone vote for racial cleansing for Obama with Cain on the other ticket? (Not that he wouldn't make a great VP candidate otherwise).
"Plenty of otherwise intelligent people convinced themselves to vote for Obama last time. They could be stupid again."No better place to discuss the issue than here. Of course, there is a steadfast element that considers Obama wasn't Obama enough. In that case, hope springs..for one more round.
The sad thing is that nobody will learn anything from Obama's Presidency. Those who knew he was as inexperienced as he was anti-American will maintain the same view. Those who voted for him demonstrated an irremediable lack of critical judgement.
I'm say what everyone is too polite to say: If smart people don't admit they were wrong and functionally dumb to vote for Obama in 2008, they just might do so again. Right, Althouse?
Setting aside the fundamental silliness of most of Obama's policies (he seems to believe that by "rejecting" fundamental economic principles, he won't have to deal with their consequences), the fact that we elected the quintessential luftmensch has loosed all sorts of bad actors on the global stage.
