And, let's face it, the downside risk is lower: There's less time to live with whatever mistake you may make.

So act, live, make up your mind, seize the day. As Steve Jobs once said:
Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.

Loneliness is not what social creatures are designed to do.

Learn to dance and make a good woman happy. There is also golf.

It's not that hard to do.

And intelligence is always entertaining. Add faithful love and what more can can a man ask for.

Men who have an intelligent wife are much more likely to live well and stay healthy.

Too bad it is Youth who thinks it's invincible that comes up with the world-changing ideas and inventions, while Seniors end up so demoralized by experience with The System that they think, "What the hell, let's play golf."

Youth helps, because you have to be ignorant of gummint tax and criminal laws in order to risk indulging your inventive and "seek pleasure and avoid pain" instincts.

Jobs was a genius in areas I know nothing about but his reflections on life lived in the shadow of death are commonplace.
