"Schumer likens conservatives to a flea."

I'm sorry. Am I not paying enough attention to the budget crisis? Do I need to show that I care? Well... so... here: "Schumer likens conservatives to a flea."

But in Wisconsin liberal Democrats flee.

OK, the new GOP representatives are mere fleas. Schumer is really saying that the voters who want to stop Obama's destructive policies are worthy of the respect that fleas receive. The fleas had better get going and multiply fast.

Schumer is such a statesman.

Schumer's on a roll!!! The ultimate liberal. Don't find solutions, find people to blame and deomonize.

If the difference between them is so small, why does not Schumer et al. take the adult responsible stance, and let the wildeyed Republicans have it in the interest of "collegiality" and the "common good," etc., a.s.o.?

Mr. D said...

Shouldn't that be "extremist flea?"

Gotta stay on message, Senator.

Great fleas have little fleas
Upon their backs to bite 'em
And little fleas have lesser fleas
And so ad infinitum.

What kind of flea that is Charles Schumer is an exercise left to the reader.

Chuck Schumer, concern troll.

Oh Schumer gets away with this because 90% of his New York constituents nod along.

Oh Schumer - fuck you too.

BTW isn't anyone a bit appalled at a Jew comparing people to insects? Wasn't that what the Nazis did to the Jews?

“The flea are the minority of House Republicans who are hard right, the tail is the House Republican caucus, and the dog is the government,” Schumer explained. “That flea is influencing what the dog does ... and it is sad.

If you need 4 sentences to explain what your analogy means, it's probably not one you want to use again.

Schumer is one of the least attractive members of the Senate, in appearance and behavior. He's not exactly in the class of Henry Waxman, who looks like an infuriated mole, but he is getting pretty tiresome on TV. Schumer should have a TV camera grafted onto his face so he doesn't miss any opportunities.

If Conservatives are the flea on the dog, said dog is rabid and ought to be destroyed.

What did you expect, Schumer belonged to the house of Slitherin. Voted best snake-in-the-grass three years running.

I hope these numbers are reasonably correct given that there are too many stinking zero's to keep track of:

$3.834 trillion budget 2011 - proposed
$3.55 trillion budget 2010
8% increase
$1.5 trillion 2011 deficit estimated
$39 billion proposed cut or 1%

Congress idiots cannot agree on 1 friggin’ %

Meanwhile $2.7 trillion short-term debt will be rolling over 2011and the US must find buyers for this debt.

Graduated college and went straight into politics. Has never had a real job just like his protege Anthony Wiener.

The Ivy League just keeps churning out these credentialed slugs.

On, no, my friend. Buyer has already been found and it is you (in the form of the Treasury printing presses) and your fellow inflation sufferers - meaning all of us.

I see Senator Screwmor is sticking to script that he communicated the other day to the media, unbeknownst to him at the time.

And if the folks who want to cut the bloated government budget are a flea, so be it, suck the blood out of the beastly Dimmycrats and continue to lay eggs in them.

Screwmor is a shameless huckster, the big brother to Rep. Oscar Mayer Weiner.

The republicans should always respond when asked about comments and statements by Schumer in the following fashion " Senator Schmuck Schumer, the honorable democrat senator from New York said....." and we respectfully disagree for the following reasons...

It'd be a sorry excuse of a dog who didn't respond to a flea.

Think about this, for a moment.

(And don't dog owners respond like crazy to fleas? I mean, they're carriers of stuff potentially much more serious, aren't they?

At least, that's what all of our pets' vets have been telling us ye these many decades.)

---

Look, I don't agree with everything Teapartiers say, do, support or advocate (nor have I ever reflexively bashed them, either, to be clear.). In certain key areas where I disagree, I disagree rather profoundly and vehemently.

But Schumer...c'mon, it's Schumer. Immune from being described as the sharpest, fairest, least seeking of publicity, among the slowest to grasp at memes with little substance or independent agility to back 'em up ...

...he most certainly is.

EDH said...

Worse. doesn't Schumer compare Republicans to dog butts?

"The flea are the minority of House Republicans who are hard right, the tail is the House Republican caucus, and the dog is the government,” Schumer explained. “That flea is influencing what the dog does ... and it is sad.”

When you have to describe a metaphor in such awkward detail doesn't it lose most of its impact?

The longer Schumer is in the Senate, the more I think Al D'Amato was right. He called Schumer a putz when they were opposing each other and he was right then and he is even more right now.

And Schumer got all upset because D'Amato was not Jewish and was using a Jewish term.
