Raw video of today's counter-protest to the tea party rally at the Wisconsin Capitol.

Video by me. I'll have some edited stuff in a while. This was shot before the speakers came on. Emphasis on noisemakers... and dogs.

The dogs are just distractions. There's nothing special about them.

All in all, the crowd seems kind of tame.

Wow. That guy really owns a cowbell. At least one person got the memo.

Sparse crowd. Usual suspects.

They look like defeat is setting in.

Still don't understand the animus against Palin. Why does she represent everything they hate? It's beyond me.

She just seems like a high spirited, tough broad to me. She's pretty. She's got a wonderful family.

And, she was a high school basketball star.

That's a pretty good bio if you ask me. Nothing there that pisses me off.

In fact, she's the kind of gal I'd ask for a date.

I had a cowbell person about 10 feet behind me going full tilt pretty much for two hours. I am tempted to retaliate when Moore or the Rev is in town, but rudeness is not an easy decision for me.

These guys have no qualms.

By the way, I said hello to our hostess. Does it count as a brush with fame?

And, my opinion of Palin just improved by about 50%...

Because she walked into the viper's pit and defied them.

She's got balls.

Yes, the crowd we saw was not wild. One or two people seemed to be off their meds but overall, it was a Farmers' Market Saturday. With a Sarahlebrity.

Wisconsin voted last November. Then we voted again eleven days ago. I think everyone knows now where the majority of Wisconsin voters stand and most Wisconsinites are eager to get to work leading the country out of the Great Obama Recession.

"By the way, I said hello to our hostess. Does it count as a brush with fame?"

You Beta believe it!

What manner of totemist religion are they practicing in the video? (all those drums and chants)

She practically gave the speech TO them. It was brilliant.

Two things. First, they recognize that she could run for President and win unless they savage her 24/7.

Second, she didn't kill her baby when she was supposed to. That makes a lot of them question whether they should have killed their babies, and that won't do.

I cannot even fathom it. It would be like me going to an Obama rally surrounded by people who want to hear him, and then making loud noises so they can't. It would be unthinkably rude.

Sarah Palin to GOP: 'Fight like a girl'

They sure do Sarah.

Shouting Thomas: The hatred of Palin is indeed a mystery. My theory is that in addition to the attributes you noted she did not abort her youngest child.
That is an affront the left is wounded by.

It was amusing when the fleebaggers were wailing and gnashing their teeth. It was interesting when Prosser won the election. Now the whole thing is just pathetic.

Chuck66 said...

The hatred of Governor Palin? Some of it could be because the didn't kill her child.

But I think it is more that they fear her. They feel they need to destroy Governor Palin.

I still think that what Ms. Sarah and Bachmann have in common is that they seem to be such happy women, and that is what they cannot stand.

Besides they are both nearly 50 years old and have 5 kids each, and they have no right to look that good and glow like that!

Why do I see a short video of an adorable Spanish speaking child? Where is the protest video?

coketown said...

If a conservative speaks at a podium, and liberals are there to drown her out, does she make a point?

The message is clear: Women should be seen and not heard.

Chuck66 said...

Hagar....the happiness is a big thing. The left went nuts whenever Bush 43 would smile.

Governor Palin and congresswoman Bachmann are both confident, happy women/wives/mothers. But its bigger than that. Even if many of us on the right are not so sure about either of them holding really high office, they do come across as smart, compitent happy women. Everything the left fears in a conservative female.

Just watched Sarah and Breitbart speak

Wow! Red meat. The more I hear them speak, the more I like them.

Sarah sounded like she was just as angry and just as much after the repos as the demmies. Good, primary all those suckers.

Sarah:
"We're here, we're clear. Get used to it."

"Winning the future? WTF? Yeah, that sounds about right."

"Bullet train to bankruptcy."

Go Sarah!

"Why does she represent everything they hate?"

What she represents is irrelevant, the Left needs designated villains. The Left didn't murder 100 million people innocent people last century on account of left wing rationality and tolerance, they did it because they were ignorant bigots with totalitarian impulses. And that hasn't changed at all.

Chuck66 said...

Look at the picture on the Milw Journal-Sentinel right now and you will get a hint of why the angry left hates Governor Palin. When was the last time you saw a leftwing female Democrat look like this?

Why do they hate Miss Sarah?

She's a self-made woman who thinks for herself and doesn't need the Welfare State or the victim thing to get ahead.

Women like that (and blacks) must be destroyed!!!

Also, feel sorry for the dog. It really looked embarrassed.

I can't blame it, stuck with the poor Lefties and all they can do is make noise.

The Left hates health and Sarah is health.

Who are the guys in the bright colored “SECURITY” shirts? On the front is “teach me how to rally tea party?” OK, I can do that but I’m not sure if you can afford my fee. I’ve spent around 13 years living overseas (Asia, Europe, Middle East, Balkans, Caribbean, Central America) so I’ve seen a few humdinger 'rallies'.

the Great Obama Recession

If Garbage Mahal were awake he'd correct this to the economy Walker inherited from Doyle.

@Hagar and @Chuck 66: Brilliant observation.

Sarah Palin is happy. And if there's anything that the political left agrees upon it is that people shouldn't be happy. Not in this country.

Conservatives like to say that the left hates America. I don't think that's true. The left hates everything. America is just topical.

It's easy to think that the left hates America because they criticize America by cherry-picking negative comparisons from other (small, cold) countries. But that's the nature of cherry picking. Those (small, cold) countries generally thrive on things American leftist's hate. Oil. Nukes. Regressive taxes. Restrictive abortion laws. If American leftists lived there, they would find some other more obscure countries from which to cherry pick negative comparisons.

Leftists see happiness as either reactionary, stupidity, or dishonest. The idea that someone could both criticize the current direction of America and yet be happy with it as an culture and politic is inconceivable. Their ideal is to love what might be while hating things as they are.

Of course they hate Sarah Palin.

There is a bumper sticker out there that says:

Annoy a liberal. Work hard and be happy.

I like the soundtrack. It makes me feel like dancing.

The Fop said...

They fear Sarah Palin because she has the potential to be seen as a role model for young women.

Ask any young person who their role model is, and chances are, they'll name someone who is young or young-ish and attractive.

The idea of young women being enamored with a Conservative woman in the same manner that they're enamored with the likes of a Gwyneth Paltrow or Michelle Obama makes feminists' heads explode.

Of no particular relevance, I must say it's been about 40 years since I have attended anything explicitly political.

I had a ball and I am looking to join up with a group that makes itself heard. I am, it seems, a Tea Partier.

I agree. On the other hand, Obama can only address a raging liberal audience with the use of a teleprompter saying the same bullshit as usual.

Obama wouldn't have the balls to talk to an audience of Republicans in their majority.
