"The Tea Party's Manifest of Hate and Denial."

The Right Brothers try to read a sign at the Wisconsin Capitol.

ADDED: I got a clear picture of the whole sign on Saturday:

I've got to wonder... what's the endgame?

Not just of this biz in Wisconsin, but the endgame of the scorched earth tactics of the left.

The leftist beliefs that conservatives are vicious bigots, that the U.S. is an imperial villain, and that corporate business is an evil vampire justify the kind of behavior we see in Wisconsin.

The left for 50 years has believed that conservatives aren't just wrong... they're murderous and evil.

So, any tactics are justified.

What's the endgame of this madness?

Little do the folks on the left know; tax payers are not corporations. Working class families are forced to pay more and more and do with less and less while public employees enjoy more and more through "collective bargaining" (anti-market/anti-competitive safety net for children) even during an economic down-turn.

We ask for shared sacrifice and an end to the corrupt union/democrat party money laundering loop.

The endgame is decent people turn their backs on the American left.

I wonder if we might be witnessing the first generation, born on American soil, to have managed to reach (alleged) adulthood without ever having been taught respect for what came before them?

Do they ever wonder where this magnificent stage they were born on, came from? What was sacrificed?

Tea Partiers are against

1 Liberal Ideology - check, and double check! So is nearly everybody else in the US of A

2 The Democratic Party - I'd say instead that the Democrats are against the Tea Party. If you're going to pick a fight with someone you shouldn't bitch about it when you lose. But that's all that Democrats understand is bitch - how to do it and how to be it.

3 Organized Labor - 21st century version, at least half a check if not a full check. It doesn't seem to penetrate the minds of very many members of Big Labor in the private sector that if their company goes down, they go with it. And in the public sector, the notion that tax dollars are finite seems never to sway them.

4 Public Workers - We wouldn't mind them, if only they actually worked.

5 Rational Discourse - Is that what you think you are engaging in? You may want to look up the word "rational."

6 Collective Bargaining - Half a check. When collective bargaining means that you're going to sacrifice our children today so you can make more money in retirement than you collected in salary, well that's a problem.

7 Negotiation and Compromise - When "negotiation" means you're not giving up one damned inch and "compromise" means do it your way or else, well, there's a problem with that. So check.

8 Public Education - When slugs like the sign carriers are the product of public education, well, surely you can see why a rational person would have a problem with that?

9 Social Justice - If social justice means that people who work harder deserve to make more money than people who don't work as hard, then we believe in social justice. When "social justice" means taking from people who work hard and give to people who could work but don't based on who they vote for in elections, well, that's a problem.

10 Filthy hippies - Check, double check, and triple check.

I look at protests signs like this one with their rambling, incoherent messages, and think "This comes from a union? This is the image that Wisconsin's teachers want to project?"

This reminds me of the street person who used to stand in Farragut Square in DC with a sandwich sign that said "Is your mind controlled by silent radio? Many people are."

It really does look like they just let the homeless crazies in out of the cold.

Rational Discourse

If only the Tea Partiers played drums, then we could talk.

Fleebaggers Manifest of Hate and Denial

1. Losing elections
2. See above

The Lefties still project better than Bell & Howell. Considering how the SEIU and the CWU deal with dissent, one has to say not only is denial not a river in Egypt, but hate is no longer a street in San Francisco.

Last time it was civil war. Since the Lefties are in the distinct minority, you'd normally say they're not that suicidal, but that's what everybody said about the South 150 years ago.

"The rest is blocked by a filthy hippie wearing a "Kill the Bill" button."

Right.

Any time a Tea Party opponent is seen with a sign that says Tea Party anywhere on it, its a good idea to be suspicious.

The Tea Party folks I know are regular people. Working class, tired of getting the bum's rush from elected officials.

In simplistic terms, Tea Party folks want accountability from government, not more unaccountable government.

The opposite seems to be true of the left. They worship at the altar of government and blame everything, seemingly, on corporate America and others, denying their role in the utter failure of the last 40-50 years.

Up is down, down is up, federal government is now acting as sole arbiter of constitutionality, bailing out key industries to further lock down control over economic activity.

According to our friends on the left, Tea Party members have fangs, are only awake at night, eat the still-beating hearts of seal puppies, etc etc etc

Nobody told us that the Tea Party was there recruiting. I thought Sarah Palin was in India.

Let's change the title.

The Democrat's Manifest of Hate and Denial:

1. Conservative Ideology

2. The Republican Party

3. 93% of the Private Sector

4. See #3

5. Rational Discourse

6. Taxpayer Representation

7. Negotiation and Compromise

8. Real Education

9. Individual Freedom

10. The sign would have been written by a productive member of society

@edutcher "The Lefties still project better than Bell & Howell. " Beautiful line but unfortunately we both show our age when we get the joke.

The next few years will be a bit rough politically as the left thrashes in it's denial and anger but being broke has the virtue of eventually stripping one's mind of all illusions and instead concentrating on the immediate problem at hand. Layoffs, reductions and pay and benefit cuts are coming to civil servants. The money is simply not there to maintain the present set-up. Entitlements are also going to get a haircut as well. The money isn't simply there.

I don't get the denial bit. Hate I understand as code for opposition. But denial? The Tea Party acronym, Taxed Enough Already, bespeaks an awareness that the government union-Democratic Party "bargain" intentionally shafts the dufus taxpayer.

I can agree with the protesters in Egypt and Libya that Mubarak and Qadaffi are bad guys and should get gone. On just about every other issue, I'm pretty sure that we would disagree strongly. I am 100% pro clitoris and do not believe that every person in Israel should be chopped up and fed to the crows. I wouldn't want to spend a great deal of time with either side in those countries.....I have a different view than the protesters about the perks and rights of civil service employees, but I'd like to think that on most other issues we would be able to find commmon ground.

I think its important to make the distinction that the Left does not *believe* these things, they simply *pretend* to.

Their self-worth is wrapped around "causes", so they need an Emmanuel Goldstein to rail against.

It means that you can't compromise with them. If you address the *pretend* reasons why they despise you, they'll simply make up new reasons to justify their 2 Minutes Hate. Its what they live for.

So there will never be reconciliation with these people. You will ALWAYS be their Emmanuel Goldstein. Plan accordingly.

Let us hope the endgame is different from 40-ish years ago. Leftists were upset that their protests and street theater weren't persuading the people to tear down the system. They just didn't understand why getting in people's faces and making demands wasn't working.

Some went beyond upset and impatient and straight to radical, deciding to tear down the system more directly. They bombed a math building, killing one and injuring another. One of the bombers returned to the scene of the crime years later to open a popular deli named Radical Rye. Hey, at least he could make jokes about killing someone!

But we can take comfort: something like that could never happen in Madison, right?

It's a damn good question. What is the "endgame?"

For the past, I don't know, century(?), the size and scope of government has been expanding at an ever-increasing pace. Like a gas, it seemed destined to expand until it filled all available space.

With our current budget woes, have we reached that point? Are we out of other peoples' money?

Not to put words in your mouth, Thomas, but I'm with you completely on this. Leftism is a belief, and its adherents are as passionate as any Christian, Muslim or Jew. Our esteemed Rep. Capuano said, "Nothing wrong with throwing a coffee cup at someone if you're doing it for human rights.” The problem, of course, is that one man's human rights are another man's over-generous compensation packages.

Today they are the 'system'. It's the public who is clamoring for some tearing down.
