Bill Clinton: "I called the president the other day, and I said: 'Relax....'"

"'They haven't said anything about you they didn't say about me. The only reason they're being nice to me right now is because I can't run for anything any more.' "

What did Bill Clinton really mean?
Relax, the GOP will get some congressional power, but in the end you'll be reelected.
It's not really all about you. It's all about me.
Let down your guard, so Hillary and I can oust you in 2012.

The behavior of the Clintons has me pretty baffled.

I know for a fact that Bill Clinton knows how to run an economy and he knows how to run a budget. And I have little doubt that Hillary knows as well.

And knowing that is one reason I wasn't too worried about Obama's leftoid weirdness as expressed during the campaign. I figured the adults in the democratic party would help Obama avoid some of the very traps he's falling into. And Obama has some former Clintonistas on staff, guys like Summers and Panetta.

If I wasn't so skeptical of conspiracy theories I might think the Clintons were deliberately letting Obama fail, if not actively encouraging it from within whenever they can keep their fingerprints off the resulting mess.

But if one were to actually think that's what they're doing, you'd have to posit that Hillary plans to try to run again. And I really didn't think she did plan to run again for a variety of reasons. What the Clintons are up to in all this is very mysterious to me.

d - Stop fucking up the Democrat brand. You've been at the helm with majorities in both houses of congress and a completely sycophantic media and all you can manage is a flurry of unforced errors.

Dave, according to his own advisor's complaints, Obama thinks he's the smartest man in the room. I doubt he even listened to Bill.

I would be willing to repeal and allow Bill to serve out this term, with all the "assistants" he desires, just to have a competent leader in office. Even though he's a Democrat.

I saw Bill on the tube last night. He's looking really old these days. I'm starting to worry about his mental state as well.

Well Garage, if Libtards like you didn't continually insist with your revisionist history that "it was just about sex", I wouldn't need to remind everyone that Clinton is a sexual predator.

Google yourself and see what get.

I kinda like Clinton's comments. He's telling the POTUS, who really does have a tough job, not to worry about all the shouting. Good advice regardless of political bias.

Clinton was our best Republican President since Reagan, after all. Maybe he'll bring Obama around.

What he meant was: The people can't understand men of our caliber and the hard job we have to do. Greatness is a lonely club, my friend.

We are so slow with our progressiveness. The 1st black President was white, the 2nd is half white. Next we go with Clarence Thomas and git 'er done!

Clinton figures even if the republicans win in the next election Obama is safe. They won't impeach Obama never mind not having the votes to remove him and besides what will that bring? Biden an even bigger fool than Obama plus an equally reverse wave in 2012 for the democrats. But then again republicans are capable of being that dumb.

Clinton basically told Obama, relax your troubles are nearly over. The republicans will get all of the blame for the pain caused by the austerity measures and you will get the credit for whatever goes right. Just two more years to the golden parachute if that is all you want. Book deals, speaking fees, board of director's fees for you and Michelle and the rest of the perks and you're set for life. I'm pretty sure that is what Bill told him. It certainly worked out for him that way. In the end, Newt turned out to be Bill's best friend.

I know for a fact that Bill Clinton knows how to run an economy and he knows how to run a budget.

The Hell he did. He did nothing about all the ticking time bombs in the economy, waiting until his successor (could have been the Living Redwood) was in office.

And Fen is absolutely right.

PS Saw a piece talking about how Willie has cleaned up his image, particularly with the Clinton Foundation. Anybody want to bet, if he lives another 5 years, it turns into his version of Habitat for Humanity?

Correct answer: (D) "Barack, old buddy, every time you open your mouth you convince more Independents to vote Republican and not stop voting Republican until you are long gone. Now just cool it."

bagoh20 said...

"The republicans will get all of the blame for the pain caused by the austerity measures..."

They will also be blamed for the effects of the unsustainable spending already put in place by Obama.

This will be unfair, but also unavoidable. Cuts must be made, or it really won't matter who's fault it is. Hopefully, our people will be wise enough to see what happened.

Unfortunately, many of our people think it's the bank's fault they can't afford their mortgage too, so I'm not optimistic about the conservatives maintaining support after the crap hit's the fan.

Heard a report that Bill is only campainging for Dems that supported Hil in 2008. Haven't researched it - not really that curious about it. It does reaise a lot of questions if it is true.

The Clintons are well known for two things. They run very tough election campaings - and they get even with all who cross them. Anyone remember how pissed Bill got with the Obama campaign durng the 2008 cycle? The Clintons also don't fold the tents and go hoem if things don't go their way.

Maybe Hil is not going to run in 2012. If not, then maybe the Clintons are laying the groundwork to mount a challenge to Obama using an as yet unamed candidate.

Just speculating.

1. I see nothing with Bubba that makes him a sociopath. He lies a bit, but so did Reagan - and voters knew what values both men displayed and kept reelecting them.

2. Bill was a horndog and he wasn't the 1st. JFK, LBJ, a younger Reagan were also horndogs.

3. He didn't molest staff. He had dalliences with just just class pieces of ass like Eleanor Mondale - but a willing young plump pepperpot with a long history since college of willingly sucking off and banging powerful men she was drawn to - since college. If I have a beef, it is not with Clinton but feminists who cast willing cooze to powerful Republicans as victims, but similar eager cooze to DEms as bimbo sluts.

4. Accusing Clinton of lack of omniscence for not personally knowing each terrorist plot or the location and intent of each American criminal before they strike or the wedding plans of each of a million young couples here? It is like saying Bush - busy with his tax cuts for the rich, stem cell research and brush-cutting should also have been omniscent and been aware of AQ, how horrific his economic actions actually were 7 years before it all blew up on Republicans, and of course, know with star systems within 3,000 light years of us harbor life.

Fen said...

C4: He didn't molest staff.

Paula Jones - denied promotion because she would't blow him

Kathleen Wiley - breasts groped during interview for job

Monica Lewinksy - abused mentor/intern relationship to stick cigars up inside her.

And these are just the incidents in which he was caught. Don't be the wife who thinks that the time she walked in on hubby & the maid was the first time he cheated...

4. Accusing Clinton of lack of omniscence for not personally knowing each terrorist plot -

Didn't do that. I'm accusing Clinton of dereliction of duty. Less time spent fucking the staff, slinking around, hiding out from Hillary = more time spent doing the job of President.
