Look at those back legs! He's going to grow into them like a lab grows into his paws.

Excuse me, waiter! There's a hare in my soup!

That reminds me of my yellow lab, Huck, who, 14 years ago at age one, brought to me in his powerfully-jawed soft mouth, from the back of the yard, soaked in slobber but completely unharmed - a baby bunny rabbit just days out of its nest.

Come, be one of the cool kids and join my top secret group open only by invitation. You alone can view the finished pop-up card uploaded to an ultra top secret page that even the receiver of the card cannot yet view. Be first! To know what eventually will be made public.

No, the little shithead is not one bit cute. Mr. McGregor had multiple reasons for greasing the little bastards.

Ack! I hate the things. We have four free-roaming dogs around here and they can barely keep the fuckwads from destroying our half-acre garden.

#6 shot from a 20 gauge hardly makes a dent in the population.

Meade, now that Lab puppy *really* made me say, "aw."

*awwww*

I can never remember whether it's rabbit season or duck season.

Capt'n Bunny, meet Capt'n Godzilla.

Capt'n Godzilla, Capt'n Bunny.

Call it in the air, Capt'n Bun . . . .

Where's his little flop ear, like Bugs, or Sherlock?

That's when it's Elmer season.

Althouse is not persuaded.

But does she know better (...than non-elites like me)?

wv: "pothegr"... Hmmm...??? Maybe the word verification knows better than us all!

Evil, garden-destroying, make me spend $$ for a rabbit fence vermin.

Rabbits once ate the broccoli in my garden right down to the ground. It was there when I watered in in the evening and gone the next morning.

wv: combost.

That would be a baby bunny, folks.

Kill it while you can. Vermin.

@fls: How come his ears are so short?

Because it's a rabbit, not a hare. The two are different. Same order (lagomorpha), different genus.

Can we have an AWWWWWWWWWW?

That is one cute fucking bunny.

And MadisonMan, I always knew you had a dark side.

I've kept bunnies as pets, and I've hunted and eaten them, and they're hardly vermin. The bunny is a noble, affectionate, and damned tasty little creature.

They did kill the spinach in my Obama Apocalypse Garden this spring, but you know what? That's OK. Because my tomato plants are kicking ass.

My cat knows what to do with rabbits. Even baby rabbits. Well, she is scared of big rabbits. Babies are easy.

That may be the wrong picture. Bunnies (also called centerfolds) don't have fur all over, although the ears and the tail seem about right.

Adorable. this one we saw a few years ago was even more wee.

I do melt. Something about tiny mammals.

He's cute now, but wait until the black rabbit comes for him.

Dayum - as one who has been trying to get a decent shot of a wild rabbit, color me impressed! Did you get this shot with your iPhone? My yard is surrounded by overgrown blackberry bushes(lazy neighbors!) that shelter a significant bunny population - I've been on the prowl for a good shot for a few weeks now. Seems that if I blink too loud they scamper away.

It's a new Panasonic camera with a 16X zoom.

To all bunny haters:

Get a motion-activated owl and quitchyer bitchin'!

ALP said...

Ann: Thanks. Alrighty then - with my Canon 20x zoom I should be able to do as well. I need to camp out by one of the rabbit feeding spots early morning in camouflage...or maybe under one of the massive heaps of blackberry vines we've just cut down (ouch).
