You're so vain.

I'll bet you think this comment is about you

Don't you? Don't you?

Clouds are rarely just clouds; for instance the one in your video seems more like an earnest attempt at communication from an alien life form.

And the one in this video isn't really a little black rain cloud hovering under the honey tree...

I sent my oldest off today, through the clouds on an airplane (to keep with the cloud theme). He's gone to work construction for my brother several states away. He'll be gone a few months at least.

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to have a mommy moment over this or not.

;-)

Sorry, fresh out of scintillating. So, how about this:

I kissed a kiss in youth
Upon a dead man's brow;
And that was long ago,--
And I'm a grown man now.

It's lain there in the dust,
Thirty years and more;--
My lips that set a light
At a dead man's door.

Or maybe this: Toy Soldier.

Completely off topic, and with regard to the wholly trivial: Ever notice how pretty much the only young, or even youngish women, who regularly wear nylons/hose anymore are rockers? What's that about/what's up with that?

Hey! YOU! Get off of my cloud!

Is it that there's a secret protocol wherein you either wear hose with heavy boots, or it's all got to be pretty much bare, from flip-flops up the legs to thongs (with a little frisson of skirt, for variety)? I kind of like both aesthetics, truth be told, though neither work on me, personally (trust me on that one, and be grateful I know it), so don't get all confused about irrelevant things.

No, my query is actually born of honest curiosity.

The Cigavettes.

(That band name makes me laugh, a lot.)

That last "linkcomment" was in response to Penny's comment. Thought she might enjoy it.

Also, lest it get overlooked, on account of all the other news and all, a remembrance: Nashville images.

Rohrschach(t?) would be envious.

Reminds me a little of the sky reflected on the ocean down in the Caribbean.

Linus: That cloud up there looks a little like the profile of Thomas Eakins, the famous painter and sculptor. And that group of clouds over there gives me the impression of the Stoning of Stephen. I can see the Apostle Paul standing there to one side.

Lucy: Uh huh. That's very good. What do you see in the clouds, Charlie Brown?

Charlie Brown: Well... I was going to say I saw a duckie and a horsie, but I changed my mind.

The shimmering new items in my life are two new canes! One is pink frosty metallic. The other one is silver in the background with blue and purple flowers. If I have to be a gimp, I'm going to be a stylin' gimp.

Probably arthritis in the left knee. Right ankle crapped out from a 20 year old surgery scar. I'm hobbling like a 90 year old.

Not complaining. Happy to be here. Beating 3 cancers leaves you like a champion boxer--victorious but physically mangled. ;-)

Supreme's uphold free speech.

The Onion covers the news so you don't have to:

From Ginsberg's concurring opinion:

Justice Ginsberg: "In short, freedom of speech means the freedom of fucking speech, you ignorant motherfucking cocksuckers."

Surely, this opinion will be the most-cited Supreme Court opinion in the history of the court.

Anonymous said...

Not everyone agrees with the opinion.

"Conservative constitutional scholars have criticized the Supreme Court's decision, calling it not only a license to provoke, but also an act of provocation in itself, one that saw several justices repeatedly refer to the plaintiffs as "fuckwits," "asshats," and "cumsacks" before informing them that with their appeals exhausted, their only remaining legal recourse would be to "piss up a rope or take two fists in the mommy slot."

Noted porn star Nina Totenberg was unavailable to comment on what it actually feels like to have two fists in her slot.

We're having a fence put up in our back yard and they hit a powerline with the auger--only buried about a-foot-and-a-half deep. It was right in the middle of my vegetable garden.

I could have been "shimmering" if I'd hit that last summer while planting my brussels sprouts!

Ham, I thought that Onion piece was hilarious. If only real opinions were written with such straightforward language.

Unmangled in spirit, though. Style is all in the mind and you show plenty of it.

Glad to hear you refuse to give in. As someone who has fought The Irish Disease most of my life (a possible side effect of Cushing's), I can only applaud and admire your spunk (in, of course, the older, more acceptable sense of the word).

The most beautiful (<--- is that possible) video of The 2010 Nashville Flood has now made it to Drudge.

There is another one out there done with attitude and some jaw dropping pictures -- the point being the MSM has treated it like what happened there was their 15 minutes of fame, when it is the worst devastation since the Civil War.

JAL said...

And I'm sure Nashville has had it with clouds for a while.

Little shimmery puffy ones hanging around might not be bad ... but in general, clouds have had their day in middle TN.

Well Chip -- glad to see you made the partty. Been missin' you.

Did you finish the dogs?
