"Everybody in Washington gets all wee-weed up."

What the President meant was that everybody's ... peeing.

Quick! Someone mock one of Palin's Twitter posts!

Paddy O. said...

So, he meant "pissy"?

The less common, g-rated, juvenilized, version stands out a lot more and is really a lot sillier.

But, it is kinda cute and precious.

For the guy who has the massive power of the president, both houses of congress in his hip pocket and most journalists willing to shill for him he is certainly coming off as quite the whiner as he complains about old people at town halls, Rush Limbaugh's radio show and Sarah Palin's Facebook page.

Tosaguy...IMO Obama is calling out the DailyKos type progressives as "bedwetters". He understands that hicks without a Harvard point of view cannot understand progressive socialism and he is not calling them names. But he expected that his progressive supporters would follow his lead in using a Smiling Nice Guy act to swindle the hicks. Obama is really angry with this panic among his own coalition guys.

Not yet, but when he does I'm sure he'll say something totally not wee-weed up. He's a neat guy, after all.

It's becoming apparent that Obama is unable to communicate to the average America why they should support his health care program. This is why Obama is failing.

Obama won the election on a strange faith that people put in him based on his presentation skills. However, his presentation skills have failed, and he has squandered this faith. Now, more and more peole don't trust him anymore, yet he keeps repeating the same untruths - such as "you can keep your healthcare."

People used to say Bush was a very divisive president. However, I don't recall Bush lashing out at the Ameircan people - calling this group stupid, or that group conspirators. I don't recall Bush accusing the democrats of conspiring to destroy him, etc...

I don't recall Bush using the Presidency to attack specific individuals. Most of the divisiveness out of Bush was self created by Democrats.

Obama is totally different. Obama has no problem lashing out and acting like a child.

The ultimate downfall of a leader is evident when the Leader resorts to blaming the people for his own failures. Obama is now only touching on the surfacce, but I think the eventual gaffe will come when he outright blames the people generally for failing to pass his health care bill.

Ugh, I saw the video of this last night. He had the same cocky, cloying mannerisms that he had when he gave that speech about "I don't want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking!"

He just transforms when he is before an infatuated, cheering audience. It's all arrogance and self-delight. Quite a nice contrast to his icky petulant demeanor when things aren't going his way. Two sides of the same UnPresidential coin.

Freeman Hunt said...

He was just distracted because he had to go potty. Maybe he can take a tour of America on a choo-choo to sell the health care plan. Then he can go home and play with his doggy.

Kirby Olson said...

It's an interesting term. He's trying to argue that anyone who proposes his plan is infantile.

The people should listen to NANNY, and do whatever they're told, taking on blind faith that whatever NANNY does is right.

You what this incompetent needs to understand that everyone in Washington includes his own party, you know Mr. President, the one that controls the House by 50 some votes and has a filibuster proof majority in the Senate. Maybe President Shortpants should exercise some of that vaunted leadership I keep hearing about and get his peoples in line.

Then again maybe Senator Conrad can esplain why this bill won't pass the Senate? If there is that much disparity within the Democratic party with this piece of shit legislation, perhaps they need an identity check. That being, start seperating the Democrats from the Socialists.

@Hoosier, you've nailed it. What I've been thinking is that, on paper, Obama has the votes to pass the legislation despite the Republicans and even the Independents (as if Liebermann and Sanders are anything but Democrats). So pass it, if it's so good for the American people.

Politics is about negotiation and compromise, and it seems apparent that no one in the Democrat leadership understands how to do that -- not Nancy Pelosi, not Harry Reid, not Rahm Emanual, and certainly not Barack Obama. They don't know how to negotiate, they can't compromise (lest Paul Krugman, Markos Moulitsas, and Michael Moore say nasty, pissy (oops -- wee-wee-y) things about them, and they certainly cannot lead. What's left?

Old Dad said...

"Are we sure that's what he meant?"

"It's a phrase I use,'' White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said today, hesitating at his press briefing to offer a physical demonstration of the phraseology.

"Let's do this in a way that's family friendly,'' Gibbs said. "I think 'wee-weed up' is when people get all nervous for no particular reason....

"Bedwetting would probably be the more consumer-friendly term for it,'' the press secretary said.

That must clear everything up, right?

Notice that in his enumeration of all the misconceptions (as he sees them) that wee wee'd up people have about his ever morphing health plan or health reform Obama doesn't deny that the objections/misconceptions exist, he just mocks them. Never does he deign to answer them. Just enumerates and mocks to the sound of his sycophants laughter. Reminds me of Hitler reading the list of threatened nations listed in The Times of London at the time of Munich to his sycophants in the Reichstag: Czechoslovakia (har har); Poland (har har har); Hungary (har har har har); Romania (har har har har har), and so on. And no, the comparison is not out of line, it is apt.

Can you please make a sound argument without comparing the president to Hitler? Please.

And, no, it is not apt unless you are a lunatic. It is never apt to invoke the name Hitler when talking about any US president. Just because you hate Obama does not automatically make him the equivalent of one of the worst dictators in the history of the world. Get some perspective. Then make your argument.

NKVD said...

You are correct - Obama is more like one of the best dictators in history. Totally the best.

The man is a mental midget. Wee-weed? What the fuck?

Matt said...

Again no perspective.
You are acting as though this is the only thing he ever said. Why not try listening to him every once in a while. He's a lot more articulate than George W. But your hatred clouds your judgement.

And, ummm, it is tough to take anyone seriously when they actually think a US president is a dictator. I disliked Bush but would never claim he was a dictator. He didn't have much power actually. Most presidents don't.
But, I don't know, maybe you are 15years old and don't have any perspective on history or where presidents fit into our governmental structure?

Tom said...

Wow! What a complete dufus.

NKVD said...

Get a grip - Obama is God. To deny that is to eschew all of his God-like plans for us.

I listened. He said he would be a bi-partisan president.

And he would close Gitmo immediately.

And we have 57 plus 2 states.

And his would be a transparent presidency.

And we are one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.

And he supports a single payer health care system.

And he does not support a single payer health care system.

And the days of corporate lobbyists setting the agenda in DC would be over.

And he would wait five days before signing any bill.

And we can all keep our current health insurance.

Etc., etc., etc.

Now what, Matt?

Just because you hate Obama does not automatically make him the equivalent of one of the worst dictators in the history of the world. Get some perspective. Then make your argument.

I did write a comment a day or two back pointing out that a close analogy to President Obama's economic policies could be found in Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany. The same sort of socialist state/private partnerships, etc., and, unfortunately, the same sort of blaming everything on some evil third party. In Hitler's case, of course, it was the evil Jews. And in Obama's, it is the evil gun toting Republican Christianists.

Of course, a lot of movements and political organizations do just the same sort of demonizing. I am reminded of the North Koreans most recently, but also the Iranians, Chinese, Palestinians, etc. But I don't that excuses it.

I hope that things settle down, and that the Administration quits trying to blame American citizens for protesting President Obama's policies, and, instead looks to why so many people are so scared about his proposed health care solutions. It isn't because Republicans, or people with guns, or people who go to White churches, or even people who live in the South are evil. They aren't. Rather, they are scared because they have reason to believe, esp. if they are old, that they will bear the brunt of the health care "reform".

Penny said...

"Maybe President Shortpants should exercise some of that vaunted leadership I keep hearing about and get his peoples in line."

Two weeks ago I was watching some news channel show a thirty second sound byte from Dan Quayle, of all people. He said, and I loosely quote, "Obama's biggest problem through his presidency will be getting his own in line."

Just like it became apparent that his father had a lot of class, after the Clintons had spent some time in the White House, I think that a lot of people are going to look back at the younger Bush and realize that he really was much better than his critics portrayed him as, and had much more class than his successor, Mr. Obama.

Maybe there were times when Bush (43) lashed out at his opponents, but I sure don't remember them. If they happened, they were few and far between. I sure don't remember him going on national TV and blaming all his problems on those low life Democrats and their netroots crazy supporters. No matter how bad it got. That just wasn't Presidential.

My view right now is that President Obama is trying very hard to beat Mr. Carter as the worst President in the last 50 years.

We shall see.

Looking at what I had posted about Gibb's explanation for wee-weed, I noticed this:

"It's a phrase I use,'' White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said today,

So, he uses the phrase, but then admits that he thinks it means, whatever, he's not sure. How many people use phrases and don't know what the phrase means?

Gibbs has the hardest job in this administration. Every time he is sent out to do his job, he looks like a fool.

More likely it's stoner slang for how someone acts under the influence but there's no way Gibbs is going to admit Obama might be familar with that.
