"What Biden meant to say, in his puckish way, that they misunderstood what an economy is, and how it works."

"Piling up a mountain of proposed taxes, mandates, regulations, do-nothing programs and pork unseen in such dimensions since Pink Floyd floated a dirigible pig over an outdoor concert might, in fact, prevent recovery. So do not criticize him; applaud his palaver, and hope for more. Biden's 'gaffes' are anything but —they're simply what the administration is really thinking. Truer words have never been babbled."

Lileks is a treasure. I agree with every word: go Joe! The administration's unintentional tourist in the land of truth.

My dear lady you must be listening to Rush again.

One can only hope that dear boy Jeremy will soon arrive to set you straight.

Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha!

Perhaps you might limit yourself to mountains and graffiti in the future.

After all if all you are going to do is quote others, you are nothing more than a blank wall that graffiti has been splashed on by foolish children and political agitators.

Sloth seems to be your watchword.

Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha!

Lileks is better when he's not in a professional register.

Professional media writing sucks. Don't copy it.

Somewhere, Dan Quayle must be smiling. Biden makes Quayle sound like a genius.

When it comes to quoting this article, you missed the good part, but I didn't.

How many more gaffes before Biden finds himself out of a job? Do we see Obama take a page out of the film "Dave" and pin a scandal on the dimwitted VP? We already know Obama's copied the core message of "Dave" - be a community organizer focused on getting people jobs and pretend your presidential. :)

I had this thought myself. God help us all.

Every time I see Biden I laugh. The man is a complete and total idiot. A moron. A cretin. Higher education was wasted on him. I wonder how much it cost him to get his degrees? I mean, really, there is no way he actually passed any tests on his own.

Jeremy said...

WOW!!!

And from the renowned N.Y. Post no less.

Karl Rove and Rush too busy?

Peter V. Bella I see you're still drinking.

Joe Biden is out there driving his Pontiac GTO through cities and towns near you. Those old classic cars are always a fine sight. Their drivers, not so much.

This author would have us see Joe Biden on horseback and ringing out a bell of warning as if he were this millenium's version of Paul Revere.

We know Joe isn't warning of the British invasion, and Lileks never did crystalize Joe "Paul Revere" Biden's new rallying cry.

Penny said...

Nice looking dogs you got there, Jeremy.

Their names?

Jeremy said...

Emcee - What the fuck are you doing commenting on a site, and in always in agreement with the regulars, who are so conservative, narrow-minded and racist?

Do you think they're going to invite you into the "big tent?"

Penny - One's on his last leg, 14, the other still wild at 8.

Penny said...

Yeah, but we never know how these things might work out, Jeremy. Those wild ones like heading out into oncoming traffic. lol Here's hoping the other one taught him a little bit about the dangers of "life on the run".

Do you feel comfortable sharing their names?

It's very smart of the Obama team to have a goofy VP like Biden, especially as economic reality sets in and the country realizes that Obama is not divine. Biden is the clown who gives the crowd reason to laugh when they really want to cry.

Penny said...

We are many, many years away from "economic reality", jag.

But I think that is precisely how the current drivers would like it to be.

Only those inside the car know that there is a helluva lot of downshifting going on as we speak. Eventually, they will put that classic American GTO in neutral and coast down the big hill in every small town from coast to coast.

Weeeeeeee!

Quite the rush for the driver and the adoring fans who think this car is picking up speed for any reason beyond basic physics.

Penny said...

Oh look! There's our mayor AND our governor!

This is quite a day...

And someone is certainly emailing a friend about it, while another is videotaping for YouTube. At least I got a digital picture of the kids to put on Facebook, and I am sure someone out there Tweets.

I'll have some of whatever Penny's having.

Cheers, Ralph!

I'll also be sure to hold a place for you at the top of the hill.

It's a better view. A much better view...

Jeremy,

Oh yea, like I'd feel more comfortable in a small tent with YOU telling me what to do: You, who thinks I shouldn't be able to make a comment. You, who suggests there's a certain place blacks must be in (and we should know it). And you, who, basically, strikes me as more "narrow-minded and racist" than any conservative I've ever met here.

Sure, Buddy, you know best. Just looking out for my interests, right? Ha! You've got a lot to learn, Boy-O.

Especially when it comes to The Macho Response

Perhaps Joe's comments about The One being tested in the first 6 months by a serious crisis, is Joe just saying he knew this clean, articulate confidence man,The One, would be his own undoing; his own worst enemy and suffer from a self induced crisis.

Obama closed the day in Pueblo with a rally at the Colorado State Fairgrounds before a wildly enthusiastic crowd estimated by the facility's general manager at 13,500.

The nation's economic anxieties were sharpened by a historic upheaval on Wall Street with the announcements that financial giant Lehman Brothers was filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy while titan Merrill Lynch was being bought by Bank of America for about $50 billion.

Charging that McCain was out of touch, Obama said, "He doesn't get what's happening between the mountains in Sedona where he lives and the corridors of power where he works. Why else would he say that we've made great progress economically under George Bush. Why else would he say that the economy isn't something he understands as well as he should.

"Why else would he say, today of all days, just a few hours ago -- think about this, we just woke up to news of financial disaster -- and this morning he said that the fundamentals of the economy are still strong. Sen. McCain, what economy are you talking about?"

Meade said...

How did [Obama] lose me?
1. He did not understand economics, the most important issue.

2. He [never had] the ability to make the experience argument.

3. He never defined himself as a principled [liberal].

4. Erratic and incoherent, he lack[s] sufficient [courage].

The thing is.

If the people pushing the idea that Obama is actually not a "natural citizen" and, unimaginably, prove that Obama is actually a citizen of Indonesia or Kenya or Britain, or whatever, and force him out of office.

President Joe Biden.

God love him.

First of all I never said anything about what you should or should not say, only that it's strange to have a black man called Crack Emcee posting comments on a site full of right wing assholes who would love for you and every other black to hit the road...and agreeing with their politics no less.
(And it's disgusting to hear a black man denigrate our first black President.)

As for your "place," I find that to be a rather bizarre comment, considering how many hotshot blacks hold positions of authority in the Republican Party. There are about 35 million blacks in America, so you should be able to throw out about 10 or 20 name of the blacks who help run the GOP. (GFL)

And last, if you think I'm even close to believing what the wingnuts here believe, about any people of color, gays, religion or damn near anything relating to an individual's personal life or race, you need to pull your head out of your ass.

Personally, I just think sucking up to these fools makes you think you're something you're not.

I find it rather sad.

Maybe if you would stop accusing black people of betraying their race and screaming at them to get back on the plantation if they muster an independent thought, we'd have more black conservatives. We saw enough racist cartoons of Condi Rice and Clarence Thomas to know just where exactly the left stands.

So until leftists become comfortable with the idea that a person of color has the right to hold any political views he wants, there will be a dearth of them in the Republican Party.

After all, one of our core principles is liberty for all, which means we're pretty much morally incapable of telling someone his skin color obligates him to vote our way.

Exactly. This is something that Democrats like Jeremy just don't seem to comprehend. I suppose it's because of their own dismal record on race, which included founding the Ku Klux Klan, implementing Jim Crow and segregation, opposing the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments and pretty much every piece of civil rights legislation up until 1968. Also, when you consider that every single villain of the civil rights era--Orville Faubus, George Wallace, Lester Maddox, Bull Connor, all of them--were Democrats, well I guess it shouldn't surprise us when Kluckers like Jeremy spout their racist nonsense. They just don't know any better. Silly Kluckers.
