Buffalo steaks and the Buffalo Trace bourbon?

Somehow this makes me think of Pete Rose.

That buffalo knows something.

That I don't know.

Can't stand it when the buffalo in the room is hipper than I am.

House sparrow checks the pet food aisle at a Central Ohio Kroger today.

I love a good buffalo steak. Whole Foods has the best, as far as I'm concerned.

Cute rhhardin! Once I saw a bunch of kittens living in the garden section of Home Depot, so I think whole food chains can form inside modern box stores.

A local store that sells both fire water and the favorite meat of the Wyandot Indians. Is there a resevation nearby, or are there just many tribal descendants blended into the local population. The Wyandots were smart and fierce fighters.

If they sold guns it would be a real trading post.

American Bison.

Macabre, that. I'm against making fun of beheaded taxidermed animals. But I'm not against making up words like taxidermed. I'm also against using roasting chickens as puppets, or holding lobster races before submersing them in boiling water

I had a dream where I zipped around and visited my brothers and sisters and saw what each one was up to. One of my sisters opened a ranch in Alaska raising muskox. She was dressed head to foot in muskox fur with long hairy moon boot looking things. She looked positively dreadful, and yet oddly, perfectly in her element. She organized the local women around muskox industry collecting and weaving muskox wool, making Inuit muskox-related crafts, marketing muskox steaks and sausages, bones, horns, masks, geegaws, doodads, totem poles, pipes, parkas, gloves, hats, moon boots, Aurora Borealis viewers,, muskox cheese and muskox musk. She said her winter wear was all the rage in Durango and Aspen and that she and the women flew back and forth all the time. We could see and hear the muskoxen snorting and cavorting in the distance.

Man, Meade needs a shave, that horny devil!

There is a "local" store in DeSoto, KS that has a similar bison head. They are a butcher's shop, and have the best meat in the area. I get my pork for Nochebuena (Christmas Eve) from them every year. It would be even better if they sold booze like that place in Cinci, nice setup.

CNN is reporting North Korea has launched that long range missile they promised.

I just can't get past the blue eyed buffalo. What else is in the photo?

The Wisconsin version of this is bait and cheese.

Meade, next time you're in Madison, get Althouse to take you to a Mills Fleet Farm.

I am sure that the Administration will send them a warm congratulatory letter and one of those Staple's buttons.

Whether bison or buffalo, the animal pictured is one strange crittur. There are farms around here that raise a few. Massive and strong, but oddly shaped and seemingly top-heavy, they appear to be a hoax.

Very few wear baseball caps.

To show his displeasure over the the missile launch, Obama will send Kim an ITunes gift card instead of the Ipod they had planned.

Althouse is in Buffalo country?

I hope she's got a decent phone contract.

One that doesn't stampede her with roaming charges ;)

Lem, and what do you think McCain would have done? It's not like President Bush had a great record of thwarting NK's ambitions.

My six year old son told me a few weeks ago that he wanted to kill a bunch of animals and put them all over the house. Freaked me out for a minute until I realized he meant he wanted decor de taxidermy.

Very few wear baseball caps.

A buffalo head has graced the bar of Buffalo Bill's Brewpub (Hayward, CA) since its founding in 1983. While it once boasted a baseball cap, it is currently hatless, as the pub has gone dramatically upscale since the 80s.

Hmmm. Are you sure that wasn't snapped in Clermont County? That's where I used to live, the county east of Hamilton (Cincinnati), partly burbs, partly rural.

Tibore said...

What would you folks rather see on the wall? A racoon head with a tire track?

;)

Yes, Clermont County. I believe that's Lehr's Meats in Milford.

How fun! I just came across this post and chuckled all the way through it. I know this buffalo well - she is indeed at Lehr's Meats in Milford (my father's store)....and not only a Reds fan - but gets all dolled up for the Bengals season too! Thanks for the laughs and Happy Holidays!
