You mean THE New York Freaking Times is still being published? Amazing! We used to read that paper... way back when I was a boy. They had good crossword puzzles, if my memory serves.

Sweet of you to throw them a link.

hmmm...I could swear I typed the word "be" between "won't" and "wrapping".

A McCain moment perhaps! More Coffee!

Why do you think Obama wants to stand up to the Democratic Congress? If you look at his history of voting, you'll see he mostly has voted present. Why should he change now? Should things go terribly wrong, he will always say he didn't vote for/against it.

BHO has yet to convince me that he is anything other than a chameleon that adapts to whatever changing conditions require.

I keep waiting for him to come out swinging by addressing the issues with something more substantial than;

"As long as the sky is blue,
The grass is green,
The buffalo roam..." I am committed to the change that got me elected!

Say what?

What I said was that I didn't trust McCain to stand up to the Democrats, and I thought Obama could be his own man. Now, maybe he will only want what they want, but he will want to be reelected.

You had the chance to reject Satan and all his works, but instead you embraced his lies and prevarications.

Now we are truly damned.

Glad NYT didn't ask for information to watch.

They picked the best snippet from that BH segment.

As to McCain saying he doesn't understand the economy which you seem to have latched onto that as singularly profoundly damaging. Here's some news for you, economists don't understand it either. They think they do, and to an extent they do, but in the end they get PHDs on the subject then spend the rest of their lives writing books and arguing about portions of it with other PHDs. McCain was being honest. He was admitting he'd be relying heavily on advisors, as any president will. Obama, on the other hand, thinks he knows all he needs to know about the economy, and from what I've heard him say on the subject, we can expect another protracted disaster by way of his intererence. I do hope I'm wrong, but I honestly believe I know more about economics than Obama does, I minored in it, and I wouldn't dare go around trying to control the economic lives of other people as Obama is eager to do.

OT.

At the car wash yesterday, when I got to the back where people were waiting for their cars to be dried off and finished, a small crowd of people were riveted to a television set. Obama was giving his first press conference. This warmed my heart. I ignored them and waited for my truck outside.

Let's put it like this. I hope to GOD that Althouse is right and that Obama will stand up to the Congress. It's 100% true that McCain would have just rolled over and that would have so permanently demolished the GOP that they would never recover. 2008 was the booby-prize Presidency. Obama has it now, and he has to be President of all the people, not just the starry-eyed radicals that bought into his cult of personality.

Sorry to frighten anyone more than they already are, but Obama will not stand up to the elitist illuminati. Didn't McCain and other senators verify that he was the most liberal senator in Congress?
