Gives a whole new meaning to the term "bitch slap."

Joan Crawford has been out-of-sight, out-of-mind for a long time, but in watching that little montage I kept getting glimpses of and flashing on someone who may be her modern incarnation: Sharon Stone.

I don't have my glasses on. What is this video of Hillary about?

Her face is all eyebrows and lips, her hair has those 40's bumps on the side, and this was one of the world's most beautiful women. Yuck!

The Erasure music is perfect and speaks volume about Joan's continuing popularity.

Wow. Watched that one all the way through.

Growing up, I never understood all the claims of Joan Crawford being some kind of great beauty. She always frightened me.

Not a great acress, vilified by her 'Mommy Dearest' daughter in death, but still a presence. I remember her in her final role as the Chair Lady of Pepsico, wearing diamonds, pearls and furs in every interview. My favorite Joan Crawford vehicles? How about 'The Women' (I would think that you might like that Claire Boothe Luce catfight, Ms. Althouse), the strange 'Strange Cargo,' and of course, '...Baby Jane.' Not the acress that Kate, Bette or even Olivia/Joan or Myrna Loy, were, but she was a screen presence. Those shoulders...and still getting blogspace almost 30 years after her death, a formidable diva.

Her 1952 screamer "Sudden Fear" co-starring the always scary Jack Palance was just released on DVD.

Strange movie.

She discovers that hubbie Jack and his sleazy galpal are plotting to kill her. Instead of going to the cops, she spends the next 48 hours going completely bananas. Like clawing the wallpaper crazy.

I absolutely love this video.

If you didn't know Ann this video has been in every gay bar around, or so I've heard. As soon as the video comes on the entire bar is fixated to the television. We love our Joan

This video has camp and gay written all over it.

Thanks for sharing.

Actually just as an FYI the music in this video is Yaz not Erasure.

The singer is Alison Moyet.

The Erasure lead singer is Andy Bell who formed Erasure with the guy who did the synthesizers from Yaz.

Joan Crawford was incredibly beautiful when she was younger. She didn't age all that great though.
