... is an infinite regression.
I hope you can resist falling into the void. Me, I plan to fall into the real world for a while today and do that life-living thing I've heard so much about. But you, you're being mesmerized by Althouse Vlog #4. Only 1 minute and 16 seconds, but 100% vloggy goodness.
The microphone drops out a phrase at one point -- my fault for setting up conflicting preferences. The phrase is "cut down in the Civil War."

True story.
When I was 10 or so I saw one of those infinite regressions in a mirrored hallway, and my Dad explained the whole concept to me.
The next day when I was in school I kept daydreaming about the concept and my teacher asked me why I was so distracted. I said "I saw an infinite regression yesterday" and can't stop thinking about it.
I think she thought I was being a wiseass.
(It probably didn't help that I had as a father a physics/math genius who could spend hours explaining this stuff to me...)
You ask what we have on out computers? Obviously, the Althouse Report!
Ann:
Confess.
Tell me that at some point, some fiber in your being, some niggling, some slight vestige of resentment, an inkling of anger, a hesitation of discomfort, an iota of disappointment, a fraction of perturbation...
Every once in awhile crops up..
At your going to all this trouble, and not receiving so much as a dime in monetary compensation.
You wouldn't be human if you didn't feel that kind of resentment and bitterness...at least every once in awhile.
Peace, Maxine
