Polydream.

Hey, listen to Polydream.

The guy on the extreme left is Brit Rice, half of the the musical force behind the Audible Althouse theme song. So, really, fans of the podcast, go listen. The photo is by John Althouse Cohen, the other half.

Is that the algae accused of making Mendota unswimmiable?

Too early in the year for that. It looks pretty clear right now. It gets pea soupy later.

I'm really not a fan of the Altcast theme music, but this was really very good. I love the singer's voice, and two of the three songs on that page are great. The third is so-so. Shades of Radiohead before they went off the deep end, of U2, and a britpop band from a few years ago called Gene. Come and play some dates in Indiana, lads.

Simon: The "Altcast theme music" is an attempt by John and Brit to please me with something having a 60s/Beatles/Beach Boys sound. Polydream is one of Brit's projects. Brit is a brilliant drummer. I don't know much about the singer or how the songwriting is done. The lyrics to my theme music were written by me, in an email to John, saying something like, I wish I had theme music, and it could just be something really plain like Audible Althouse, it's a podcast about the odd last few days on a blog called Althouse. They went and recorded the theme without asking me if I really wanted those lyrics, and then they surprised me with the finished product. It was very funny.

Quite handsome fellows, too.

Palladian, you dog.

I liked the music. I heard the song with the kids in the background. It sounds like it should already be on the radio. (Sorry if that's an insult.)

I also like the theme music, though. It just fits the podcast, in my mind.

Oh, like you didn't notice, Jennifer ;)

Isn't it time for a podcast?

What really bugs me about the Althouse podcast theme music is that I CAN'T GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD. It's fine to sing along with, but why does it need to pop into my head in the middle of the day when I'm doing other stuff? Do you know how weird that is?

Seriously.

:)
