There are other Open Sources. A gentleman named Christopher Lydon has an excellent web site called Open Source. His URL is www.radioopensource.com, and he graciously agreed to give us opensourcemedia.net.
Brendan responds:
This is just not true. And weird. We didn’t graciously agree to give them anything. We’ve never talked to them. They didn’t answer our email.Right now, OSM has this "About Our Name":
There are other Open Sources. A gentleman named Christopher Lydon has an excellent web site called Open Source. His URL is www.radioopensource.com, and he relinquished the domain name opensourcemedia.net."Relinquished" is the new "graciously agreed."

Fine post and all, but where are the bodily fluids? I mean, what is an obsession if it is not consistent.
Jim, I'm sure there was a small bit of spittle visible in the right corner of her mouth when she typed this post.
Some comments don't link to blogs mentioned or quoted. What's the protocol here at Althouse.com?
This is very strange. Was there no due diligence? No checking on the name before it was used?
I wonder if these people just stayed up all night in their pajama's drinking whiskey and when the early morning light pierced the darkness came to a sudden realization that Pajamas Media was just not a good name for anything other than a kids news show on Saturday mornings? I hope it gets worked out soon, most of the OSM folks are daily reads for me and if what Brendan is saying is accurate they need to respond and rectify the situation now before the blogs swarm.
Read the old masters like, Twain, Bierce, Mencken who learned their lessons well and don't forget the girls, Austin, the Brontes, George Eliot ...
Gosh-dang, this is getting to be hysterical. Check out the comments on this Dennis the Peasant post:

I'm getting these links from commenter Owl over on Roger L. Simon's site! I swear, the blogosphere is turning into that snake that eats itself....
Probably much ado about nothing, as you know Ann.
Generic terms.
Ann is obviously a mole for the Oregon Steele Mill www.osm.com - also I think it is funny that people are telling pajama/OSM to get good internet legal advice - isn't that and space law Glenn Reynold's main area of expertise?
This is from their corrections page, make of it what you will:
"November 18, 2005
Due to a miscommunication, OSM inadvertently wrote on our site that Christopher Lydon of Radio Open Source "graciously agreed" with us to give up the url opensourcemedia.net. This is incorrect. He gave up the use of that url entirely of his own volition and after no discussion with us. We had never contacted him before he took his action.
We apologize to Mr. Lydon for this error on our part."
making it all up is all they regret?
I can't help but think of that classic Butthole Surfers song, "Sweet Loaf" whenever regret is mentioned.
"Sweet Loaf"
"Daddy, what does regret mean?
Well son, the funny thing about regret is,
It's better to regret something you have done,
Than to regret something you haven't done.
And by the way, if you see your mom this weekend,
Be sure and tell her, SATAN, SATAN, SATAN!!!"
