I used to be able to do it, and I'm pretty sure I could still do it, just not in a normal doorway. they key is finding something wide enough for you to brace both legs against the sides, but not so wide that it's impossible to keep them there.
I actually did a version of that when I used to work out with a trainer. He said it was a good way to stretch your inner thighs before working out. The gym had two poles that were appropriately close enough together.
Odd, now that I think about it, but the trainer was right.
Well, after seeing the picture of Chris, my friend and I both tried doing that on one of the the doors at the local ERC. And, both of us failed miserably at it and fell, but, we provided a lot of mirth for all who saw us trying the stunt. However, I think I could do it and hold that position, once I can get my leg muscles stronger. Hey it another reason to get stronger and fit, eh?

Not anymore.
I can say that about a lot of things.
More importantly - can John still do that?
I could do it, but it would be a reenactment of the biblical story of Samson (alas not the juicy Delilah part).

It's not John. It's Chris.
I never could do that. Chris is still in great shape, though -- better than ever. And there are many beautiful pictures on John's site.
why does the phrase "GET DOWN FROM THERE RIGHT NOW!" keep repeating over and over in my head?
I do this every weekend at Devil's Lake.
I could never do that, even as a child. I could slide down the stairs on a pillow though.
