"It makes me happy. When I hear those pile drivers — my wife doesn't love it — but I love it. I love the sound of concrete. I love the sound of pile drivers."

Nothing puts me to sleep faster than the sound of somebody else working.

Next door neighbor needed some foundation issues fixed. Jackhammers started going off at 8:15 am. Took about a minute to get back to sleep and didn't wake up until hours later. When they stopped.

Pile drivers? My first thought was vodka and prune juice. Maybe that's what he meant.

I love the sound of pile drivers in the morning, it sounds like...victory. Or a great reconstruction of a venerable landmark. Whichever.

RCOCEAN II म्हणाले...

Thats understandable for Trump. He's a building guy. personally, Pile drivers, like leaf blowers, make me want to commit 2nd degree homocide

How about Reverse Cowgirl?

Ah, the venerable historic landmark FDR built in 1942 to hide his bunker!

In "Melania", Trump calls her when he wins election, asks "Did you see it? Won every swing state.:" Melia calmly like "Good job ,honey"
No big deal. Trump was not bragging, he was seeking, and getting her approval. Neither overly excited.
Seems Trump really loves Melania.

I know some girls who like a pile driver - and not just the sound. CC, JSM

There will never be another one like him.

Try an offshore drilling rig, when drilling ahead. The pumps rumbling, pounding, pumping away a couple thousand gallons a minute, at a few thousand psi pump pressure, using 4 or 5,000 hp steady - that kind of energy makes noise.

They stop once in a while to add drillpipe - it becomes a subliminal rhythm. When I was supervising offshore, if the pumps were down for too long, I would wake up out of a sound sleep, every time. If they stayed down, it meant something was wrong, and I would get up to investigate what it was.

Could be equipment, could be a problem downhole. Keeping the equipment running was the drilling contractor's responsibility, but - if the equipment is down too long, there will be a problem downhole, with time.

I've worked with engineers and capital construction projects pretty much throughout my legal career. I like the sound of machinery working--which is why I pretty much don't object to the magnets banging and clanging while I get an MRI.

I love the sound of construction in the morning.

I understand completely. I love the sights and sounds of progress. I literally love watching street construction going up. Especially expansion.

It is a good day for everyone when they release the chakra.

"The sound of concrete" -- "the weave" goes synesthetic and surreal.

Better, "the sound of cement mixers," "the sound of concrete pouring," or "the smell of concrete."

Does it have a smell? And how does it feel?

Andrew म्हणाले...

The sounds of construction or production are the sounds of progress.

Captain BillieBob म्हणाले...

"Does it have a smell?"
Yes, but I don't know how to describe it.
"And how does it feel?"
It's gritty, about the consistency of pudding or yogurt. It's also full of chemicals to improve flowability, strength, agents to either retard or accelerate setting, prevent freezing, durability, etc, etc. And don't be sticking your hands in the wet concrete the cement. Continued exposure can cause cement poisoning, nasty stuff and don't get in your eyes, burns like hell. Other than that it's good stuff. I love concrete.

Captain BillieBob म्हणाले...

Please don't call concrete cement. Cement is one part of the concrete matrix along with admixtures (chemicals), sand and stone or gravel and water. When water is added the concrete matrix it causes an exothermic reaction the starts the hardening process. Too much water weakens the concrete, not enough and you can end up with voids. There's a science to getting it right.
