"The Siamese crocodiles, including 69 adults and 6 babies, were confirmed to be missing after about four months worth of rain...."

It says in "Dozens of escaped crocodiles lurking in floodwaters, Chinese city warns" (WaPo)

Maoming has some of the country’s largest crocodile farms, with crocodile skin manufacturing facilities in nearby cities. Crocodile meat is also a local delicacy. The farming and trade of live crocodiles is allowed under Chinese law, and cases of farmed reptiles running loose are not uncommon in the country....

A bounty and half a dozen Florida Men would round those up right quick...

If they're joined at the tail they would be dangerous to approach.

Bob Boyd म्हणाले...

Oh no, hope they haven't been experimenting with more lethal corcodiles.

Bob Boyd म्हणाले...

I'm picturing 69 adults and 6 babies all joined at the hip. One big, angry snapping ball of crocs.
But don't worry, there's no military application for Siamese croc balls (SCB's) and it's just a coincidence there's level 4 crocodile lab at Maoming.
Fauci has assured us they haven't been doing gain of function stuff with crocodiles, but wear a mask just to be safe because the SCB's might be looking for certain individuals. That's not confirmed.

Don’t worry, those crocodiles will eat you last.

This sounds a movie made for the SyFi Channel.

Has anyone eaten croc before?

I have had gator meat plenty of times in the South. I was wondering how it compared to croc.

This certainly helps to put a rodent infestation into perspective. Maybe even brown bears. Grizzlies though remain the worst pests.

Sounds like a job for Crocodile Dundee. Although the Chinese customs agents would seize that knife of his as a weapon of mass destruction…

Croc tastes even more like chicken.

Now they have an excuse to release a new virus in time for the next election and blame it on the crocodiles and floods. Anyone know if Fauci has any patents on reptilian viruses?

My daughter and I ate at Carnivore and sampled crocodile when we went to Nairobi in 2009. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnivore_(restaurant). We both thought it tasted like chicken, but a little tougher in texture. After Nairobi, we went to Arusha, went tent camping in the Serengeti, successfully climbed to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, and then relaxed in Zanzibar at the Blue Bay Beach resort. https://www.bluebayzanzibar.com/.

I hope nobody gets the idea that people getting eaten by crocodiles in Maoming has anything to do with crocodiles escaping from big crocodile farms in Maoming. That would be racist.

I would like to import about a 100,000 crocodiles and release them in the D.C. area.

Just kidding, FBI guys- I am not a insurrectionist!!

Is there anything that's not allowed under Chinese law when it comes to food?

rcocean म्हणाले...

Croc meat a delicacy. So if you find one it could be a boon or a curse depending on who has the upper hand.

Who's on the menu? You or the croc?

mikee म्हणाले...

Local delicacy, you say? This is a self-solving problem.

Iman म्हणाले...

Tried gator when in Orlando in the mid-90s - a fried gator tail nuggets appetizer - and it was horrible, it tasted like a pencil eraser.

I don’t recommend eating reptiles.

Yancey Ward म्हणाले...

This is all just Chinese code for what did happen- COVID-23 has escaped a lab.

I read somewhere that gators in the toilets (or maybe the sewers?) was a problem in NYC for a while.

Might have been a comic book or a movie.

I haven't seen this.

Wikiepedia is on it!

I don't care what the kids are doing, croc sodomy is right fucking out. I'm not even going to try that. Close-minded! Not interested at all!

Crocodiles are one thing, I would be more worried about flood and sewage water all mixed together and the illnesses resulting.

they flushed their pets...

Those SE Asia crocodiles are particularly dangerous. Among WWII history aficionados, there is the story of the 1000+ man Japanese Army Co, trying to escape capture near the end of the war, They had held out a long time, and consumed all the small animals in the area to the point of starvation. The allies made a final advance and the Japanese retreated into the swamp. As the allied forces advanced they could hear the heart-rending cries and screams of the Japanese troops and the swamp crocodiles, starved of game by the Japanese soldiers, attacked and ate them to a man (assumed because no allied troops would go look and none were reported from other areas).
