The thing about "excess deaths", as I understand it, is that those numbers can't be manipulated to make it appear something they are not. So, that might explain why it takes a YouTuber... with a medical degree mind you, but not a Fauci deputy or some such... to talk about "excess deaths".
Lem cannot take a comment and let it go. Like Drago, he had to take personal attacks to a whole new thread.
I am sure that's what out hostess was hoping for with her guidance.
Meanwhile, Romania decided that Andrew Tate needs to be kept in detention yet more time. Those proclaiming his innocence and how he was swatted have nothing to say.
All those bravies walking out on the ice. So I looked it up. At least 20 inches of ice so no fear of falling through. (It would still scare me) and people hike across. That’s very cool. It’s a great photo.
What is up with all the shootings over the past week? A police chief near Pittsburgh was shot and killed last week. Tonight an officer in Metro Indianapolis was shot in the leg, and there have been at least a couple of other incidents in that area just this week.
Variety: “...at the Golden Globes on Tuesday night, Eddie Murphy offered some key advice for up-and-comers in the industry: “I want to let you know that there is a definitive blueprint that you can follow to achieve success, prosperity, longevity and peace of mind,” Murphy said at the end of his speech. “It’s a blueprint and I’ve followed it my whole career. It’s very simple, just do these three things: pay your taxes, mind your business and keep Will Smith’s wife’s name out of your fucking mouth!”
"The joke — which, of course, references the infamous moment at last year’s Oscars when Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock for making a jab at Jada Pinkett Smith’s alopecia — resulted in rapturous, shocked laughter from the audience."
Have a first floor room that's been the fifth bedroom since, well, when we moved in. Until just a few short months ago we had 3 living here, officially, though one was more away then home. Now he has his own house. Started out with one of those "dead end" jobs at Walmart... They're not dead end if you show. We've had between 3 and 8 living here, and we're now officially down to just the two of us.
Wife decided shw wanted to make it her hobby room. Before Christmas I got it painted, ripped the rug up, and got about 1/3 of the flooring down- and there it sat. Forund the round tuit today and finished the floor, about 6-7 hours of work. Now relaxing with a glass of good inexpensive wine.
Tomorrow we have to go out for a medical appointment- and she needs a driver, so it's we have to go out. While we're out I'll get the floor and ceiling trim and attempt to finish that up on my next weekend- which is TUES-WED. She didn't think I'd find a round tuit today, well, now yesterday, because I worked a few hours overtime at the end of my shift.
So anyway, that was my day.
Local news had an article up on the CNY snow situation. For our area, it's the ninth least snowiest start to a winter. SO not a record. But they made sure to mention that in all those other years, we got hit by a mimimum of one 12" snowstorm/blizzard later on. Always got to throw in that bad news, don't they? Lake hasn't frozen, and we usually get most of our local lake effect in FEB-MAR. Buffalo got nailed early, bigtime nailed... Most I've seen in one storm is 3-4 feet. Followed two days later by another. Our first winter here it snowed literally every single day. Might be for an hour, might or might not stick, but every single day. No highs below freezing yet since 2 days before New Year, none predicted in the 10 day forcast.
Some want to use this so far warm winter as absolute proof of global warming. It isn't. It'sust another highly variable American weather pattern. I recall reading that once variable weather is what makes the North American continent different from Europe, Asia, and Africa. Planting weather can start in April, but we can get May snowstorms that ruin the crops and have to start over. In the 3 aformentioned continents, once spring has sprung, the chance of a crop destroying freeze is near zero. Don't know if South American weather is equally variable.
You're not. The last post of the day with just a picture is intended to be an open thread. I often write that out but sometimes I don't... just out of laziness or some sort of aesthetics.
Great pic of lake. Tracks give it human scale and structure: each footprint is another story waiting to be told. Who was walking here? Why? Were they coming or were they going? And in the distance, what might be happening in a world without horizons?
It made me worry about the strength of the ice, how thick it might be, how thick it “needed” to be, to bear the traffic of all those feet, strolling or pacing without, I imagined, a care in the world, or with only some basic care, just enough care; care not to jump up and down, care not to shout into the fog-hidden distance, drawing the attention of whatever might be there. A care that is not fear exactly; more a kind of respect for the way things are.
The gas stove thing is coming from a left wing special interest cabal Rewiring America. It has the goal of electrifying everything so they can be powered by renewables. I don’t see that crackpot climate obsessed billionaire directly connected but Podesta and other lesser grifters are a part. The so called health experts are funded by Windward and similar dark money schemes.
…and of course, all working closely with left wing government. Expect the health scare mandates to come soon. They’re having great success with those…
Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to Biden: "President Biden, you are the first president of the United States in a very long time that has not built, not even one meter of wall, and that, we thank you for that, sir."
rehajm: I look at that frozen lake and remember the good old days before global warmening made ice and snow a distant memory. Why, sometimes the mercury fell below freezing!
As for the ongoing plot to crush fossil fuels: I need to find a way to short it. I suppose I could just buy a coal mine but that’s so icky. Any suggestions?
Deadly serious here. Because sure as hell the warmunists are. A major backlash is brewing, and I mean “lamp-post-stringing-major” backlash.
Read all about the Fed that infiltrated January 6th, that is protected by the January 6th committee, even though HE did more to instigate violence than anybody they have in their political prisoner gulag for over 2 years now...
Washington's Einstein of a governor, Jay Inslee, want to require gun owners to take a training class before they can actually buy a gun, to reduce gun violence. No word on imposing this requirement on criminals, of course. It's the criminals who use gun violence to get what they want, not legal gun owners.
Training is a good idea. But, government can't impose that on us as a requirement to buy a gun.

I wish the quote contexed the 2020 election, although it could, on its own, it doesn't here at this linked conversation between Brett Weinstein and Cardiologist Aseem Malhotra, were they talk about the reasons "why doctors are turning a blind eye to the v harms."

Started watching The Menu. Grew very bored very early. Turned it off. Read the plot synopsis. Do not regret my decision. What a turd of a movie.

Today I took a 6hr defensive driving online course. My insurance offered me a discount if I took it.
I learned I was doing something wrong. It is not recommended I put my high beams on while driving in foggy conditions.
Here is another tip I'm passing along for the folks with car seat children.

Lem, you must learn to translate from Dumb Lefty Mark Speak to reality speak.
In this case, get your own blog means you are illustrating too many embarrassing-to-the-left facts at too rapid a rate for our lefties to handle.

Such a beautiful, mystical, magical photo! It looks like an artist’s backdrop to a retelling of the Brothers Grimm.
