"Pierce Bush is first Bush to lose Texas race in over 40 years."

CBS News reports on the primary loss for a grandson of George H.W. Bush. Pierce Bush was running for a congressional seat in Houston. He was well funded and had the endorsement of the retiring Congressman from the district.
Troy Nehls and Kathaleen Wall, staunch defenders of President Donald Trump, advanced instead to the runoff.... Although Pierce Bush, 34, made clear from the outset of his run in December that he was an ally of Trump, he didn't do so with zeal of rivals who promised fierce loyalty to the president if elected.

"Zeal" is a word writers use to imply religious-like fanaticism. It's is chosen consciously.

No more Bidens. Except it's amazing that our tax dollars end up in Hunter's bank account. Scrubbed clean by a Ukrainian energy company.

Thank God! this makes my day. Fuck the Bush Family. That George Bush and "Barb" voted for Hillary says it all about that pack of frauds. Incredible that the titual heads of the Republican party REFUSED to respect the will of the Republican voters and either went AWOL or supported Hillary.

George Bush lied about "No New Taxes". Bush II lied about "Weapons of mass destruction". Jeb Bush lied about being a Conservative. And whole family lied about being True Blue Republicans. If Bob Dole is still alive, he must be enjoying this, because he hated the Bushes too.

Of course: vote for the Wall!

rcocean म्हणाले...

Pierce Bush was running around saying the R party was "too white" and "needed to reach out to Minorities and Hispanics" which of course leads to the response: Why the fuck was he running?

MikeR म्हणाले...

He should switch to the Democratic Party and try for the second place on the ticket. Vote for the "Bernie/Bush" - they're on fire!

Mike (MJB Wolf) म्हणाले...

I had a T shirt made four years ago:
NO BUSHES
NO CLINTONS
NO BULLSHIT

After Jeb! became the first victim run over by the Trump train and the whole family got their knickers wadded up over Trump, the idea of a Bush dynasty is dead. The name is sullied, associated with Nevertrumpism that is itself tied into knots and supporting things they always claimed to oppose. Just like Chuck. Dweebs without a party nor, apparently, any constituency even in ruby red Texas! So establishment!

George W would have been saying the same thing had 9/11 not happened, saving him from his family's One World Order agenda.

Bush II lied about "Weapons of mass destruction".

Say what you want about GWB, and I agree in most cases, but the above just isn't true in any way, shape or form. All of the intelligence agencies said there were WMD. There was some evidence that Hussein was hiding such weapons in Syria. The Kurds who survived being gassed would also disagree with the above.

I have an issue when erstwhile conservatives use the same arguments that liberals did back then.

First, for those claiming Texas is turning Blue; Trump won more votes in the Republican Primary than all the Democrat candidates combined in their primary. Otherwise, the 22nd Congressional District is expected to go to the former Sheriff Troy Nehls, as he has a history in the actual District.

Kathaleen Wall has great ads talking about how she is a pro-Trump conservative. She plays off her name and building the wall, and it is a catchy ad. But she is shopping for a seat. She ran against Dan Crenshaw in the 2018 2nd Congressional Primary. Now she is running in the 22nd Congressional Primary.

Pierce Bush had backing and his name, but otherwise is nobody within the district.

Fernandinande म्हणाले...

Pierce Bush

That must be his pr0n name.

but the above just isn't true in any way, shape or form.

All I know is that Sadamm was supposed to have "weapons of mass destruction" and he didn't. And Bush didn't tell us we invading Iraq to create democracy in the middle east, or that we'd be there for years and years, spending billions and billions. No, we had to attack because Sadamn was a HUGE Threat.

Of course, Bush II lied about other things, like Amnesty and cutting social security. But what the hey.

Media myths live large in the minds of Althouse commenters. Even “Mission Accomplished” reappears. As if Bush strung that up to signal the end of the Iraq war. Amazing. All you media myth-lovers conveniently overlook the stockpiles of chemical weapons our troops had to dispose of, and the caravan of trucks hauling ass to Syria on the eve of Iraq II that we’re subsequently deployed on Assad’s enemies (Obama’s “red line”). Saddam was not allowed to have factories making WMDs, but he did. Ask anyone who was actually IN Iraq and they’ll tell you they encountered chemweapons.

Saddam was trying to play a game where he convinced his own people that he had WMDs, or at least an active program (because if they thought he was weak then he'd be dead), while trying to convince the rest of the world that he was disarmed. So naturally any intelligence is going to conclude that he has WMDs. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Don't forget that the Washington Post, back when it reported news, had a long story about the scientists working in Saddam's nuclear weapons program and how they were laying low until the heat died off.

I thought I was going to be the lone voice objecting to the "No WMD" lie, but I'm glad to see I'm not. And they argued the point much better than I could (including how they tracked many of the WMDs being shipped to Syria before the war started).

This doesn't excuse GWB. Bogging us down in Afghanistan and Iraq for decades, launching Homeland Security and the illegal spying under the guise of the Patriot Act, and the nightmare of the TSA are black marks against his record.

Think of it: with Clinton, Bush, and Obama, we've had three of the worst presidents of the modern era. Presidents who have damaged this country's economy, depleted our treasures, and interfered with our lives with their policies.

Bush's BIG LIE in the Iraq war, wasn't that "Saddam had WMD's" its that the purpose of the war was to just rid of Saddam. That wasn't the real purpose. It was to "Build democracy in Iraq". That's we were still occupying the country when GWB left office. If all we wanted was to get rid of Saddam, we could have left Iraq in 2004. 80% of the US deaths occurred AFTER we had captured Saddam.

Its the old bait and switch and its been played on the US public before. We went to war with Spain because of the USS Maine and to free Cuba, and we somehow ended up fighting an imperialist war in the Philippines. We go to war against the Kaiser because he's sinking our ships in violation of international law, and Wilson ends up trying to rope us into a league of nations. BTW, go read Bush's 2005 inaugural address, its Wilsonian Globalism on steroids.

There were a couple of reasons to take out Saddam Hussein. The wmd was chosen as the next. Iraq after the first gulf war was a headache.

My 2 cents on wmd in Iraq:

- the convoy going to Syria was suspicious...
- Iraq kept the manufacturing ability so after the inspections stopped, they could go back to producing wmd
- there is basically no difference between making pesticides, and wmd
- there was a lot of old mustard and nerve gas in Iraq the us had to dispose of, and done us troops were injured by it.
- Hussein told his neighbors and people he had wmd (bluffing)

I am amazed at how anti Trump the Bush’s have been. There Voting for Hillary blows my mind.
