"I really felt cute in it and now I never wanna wear that shirt again even though it was the first time I ever wore it and I felt good about my self in it."
Says a woman who wore a crop top, quoted in a Daily News article that's mainly about men in crop tops, "Just in time for summer, crop tops for men are coming into style." Of course, it's a bad idea. I'm just quoting her a propos of the "wife guy" phenomenon, noted yesterday.

We’ve moved from, “if it feels good, do it” to “first, do not offend”.
Isn't this an appropriation of gay culture?
It’s a good look on a defensive back from the SEC. On 40+ guys, not so much.
Personally, I have far less trouble seeing men in short pants than I do seeing men in short shirts.
Do you have any mens shirts for men?
I prefer a bandeau top on a woman. You can pull it down to expose her tits.
I self-identify as having 6-pack abs......
I lived through leisure suits.
This too shall pass.
"Isn't this an appropriation of gay culture?"
Gay, hell. '70's and '80's P.E. and football practice in the Bay Area. Oh, wait...
Ladies, dress like you are under twenty five years and 130 pounds only if you are under twenty five years and 130 pounds.
"Do you have any mens shirts for men?"
Why, yes, I do! Check out these Amazon Basics linen shirts for only $25. All linen, well-constructed, totally normal, lots of colors.
The ol', tacky notion that sexiness is defined by, and proportional to, degree of skin exposure. This is held by people with little concept of what constitutes being sexy.
That aside, Sueretta gets to dress in poor taste just like the skinny girls if she wants to. She felt good about herself. It's really quite brutal what those bastards did to her.
Here in Los Angeles, this has been a popular look with gang bangers for some time.
Linen... for summer.
"Ladies, dress like you are under twenty five years and 130 pounds only if you are under twenty five years and 130 pounds."
Even when I was 20 and 110 pounds, I wouldn't wear a crop top. It's just too much attention to a part of the body that isn't going to look right unless you think about how you are standing/sitting all the time. It's no way to be casual and relax.
Tom Wolfe loved his white linen suit.
add a man bun and - yowza.
I am still waiting for the return of g-strings. For men of course. Its a natural, sexy look, if you have the legs and bottom for it.

Granted, you can only wear a g-string if you have developed an air of dignity.
Professor Althouse did it again.
I knew the woman quoted was going to turn out to be fat, and that there’d be a picture, but I couldn’t help myself. Curiosity killed the cat and all...
The bonus was worth it though. She wore the crop top and shorts and was - according to her social media post - kicked out of a restaurant for being “dressed too provocatively”.
But that’s not the bonus.
The bonus is this: she was kicked out of “the Golden Corral - all you can eat buffet”
Double bonus — after she was kicked out they saved the evening by eating at.....
Chuck E Cheese.
If I didn’t see the picture of the social media post I’d be claiming fake news (heck the whole thing might be made up by her- who knows) because it seems too stereotypical/obvious.
Having some experience with this - white linen suits in the tropics require having servants.
Cold shoulder tops don’t seem so bad now.
As a cisgendered heterosexual male I would never where a crop top... even if I had a 6 pack and I was 20 years old and I was playing football and it was the 1980s.
Crop tops are for men when on most women. Men wearing them? No.
I picture a man in one of these and a speedo saying “Hey! My eyes are up here!”
"Cold shoulder tops don’t seem so bad now."
I wouldn't go that far. If ever there was a fashion that screams "trailer park", that's it. How do women get suckered into this ugly shit?
"and now I never wanna wear that shirt again"
And the rest of us agree!
There is a restaurant in Omaha called the Surfside Club. It is right next to the Missouri River. The sign on the main road reads, "No cutoffs or men's tank tops. Dress decent or stay out."
When Althouse and Meade come to Omaha, we'll go there and take pictures in front of the sign. Iconic.
A cold shoulder top in a trailer park is downright demure.
Crop top + shorts?
Yeah, it was hilarious that it was a buffet restaurant that kicked her out.
Homer Simpson would be delighted to be her escort,

Men in short shirts.
Next: men in shorts, short shirts, and short socks.
Men in jock straps.
...she had been kicked out of a greasy spoon for dressing “too provocatively”
"Provokingly" maybe.
Seems to me that by making this gal not want to wear a crop top again, the restaurant has actually done her a favor.
I'm lucky enough to be a guy with copious amounts of hair adorning my torso. I realize that is offputting to many people, so I'm perfectly happy to keep my shirt on. I hate the idea that one's personal comfort in dress should always trump the comfort of all those around us. That's why I never wear shorts on a plane (you're welcome, Althouse). I don't like being next to the hairy leg of some dude I don't know.
No crop tops for me.
"Mid-rift revealing crop tops are all the rage..."
Mid-rift?!
Just in time for summer, The Daily News has stopped editing their articles.
Crop tops are the bomb on young women. That is all.
Will Farrell rocked a sort-of crop top/midriff-exposing top in the More Cowbell skit. That's about how I'd look. Maybe I'll get one and wear it out with the teenagers when they make questionable clothing choices.
MEN: HIDE YOUR NIPPLES.
High school football teams were wearing something like this in scrimmages years ago.
I guess it couldn't catch on until older guys got in shape.
Golden Corral finally apologizes for throwing out ‘provocatively’ dressed customer who claimed weight-based discrimination
Perfect complement for the man bun.
Next fashion craze: halter tops for men with nothing to halt.

Who can forget the Full Cleveland?
https://nachodonut.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/the-full-cleveland.jpg?w=500
Involuntarily my mind went to an image of me in a crop top, surgery scars, 260 pounds of blubber and all. I laughed so hard my dentures fell out. You may not have the same reaction.
You know the annoying couple where the man and the woman dress alike? I look forward to seeing Bill and Hillary Clinton in matching crop tops.
Women in crop tops. Men in slacks.
I apologize to all you if this has been said already:
Can we get a POV on adult males in crop tops AND shorts?
Truth is that most men would look ridiculous in a crop top because they have a body more like Will Farrell's than the two ripped guys in the article.
Man bun, crop top, short-shorts == dance line.
When I was a young man I dressed to expose as much as possible and still be legal. I was always comfortable and never self-conscious. Now I wear what I can to cover as much as possible, and I'm rarely comfortable or relaxed in my clothes. Aging and the associated metabolism sucks.
Fat men should not wear crop tops, either.
More fat shaming ahead!
Hawaiian shirts are preferred
Are the tattoos part of the appeal??
. " I BOUGHT A CROP-TOP,
AND ALL I GOT WAS THIS LOUSY
"My wife's boyfriend loves it on me!"
In order to post here I think Ann should demand that everyone send her a picture of themselves in a crop top. We can have a contest. Who wore it the best, handicapped by age.
Never did a crop top, but most of our fraternity brothers in the mid 80's hit the local thrift shops and bought cheesy leisure suits for some of our theme parties. Mine was a wonder of checks, brown on white. Wish I still had it, but my waist was then a 32, and I'm now not a 32. Don't know where it went. Probably to a charity bin. My wife removed a bunch of my clothing after we got married. I'm still mad (after 30 years) that she tossed all my Suicidal Tendencies shirts when I was TDY and not on hand. Still have the vinyl though....

Not sure about your tone, there. Sounds like a micro aggression.
(Oh, and on the article, there aren’t enough face-palm memes on the innertoobes ...)
No. Just no.
