"... a decision reached by party officials Saturday after emails surfaced that raised questions about the committee's impartiality during the Democratic primary."
Breaking news email from CNN.
LATER: "Debbie Wasserman Schultz is stepping down as chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee at the end of the party's convention, which is set to begin here Monday."
More breaking news.

"after emails surfaced that raised questions about the committee's impartiality during the Democratic primary." Nah, I'm sure they just couldn't find a stylist to straighten out her hair. I mean, Dems have no problem with leaving emails free for all to see, everyone knew the DNC worked for Hill, and she just picked its former chair as VP.
"... a decision reached by party officials"
Isn't "party official" Debbie's job title?
She's the party official, Original Mike!
DWS was sure to be booed at the convention by a lot of very disgruntled Bernie supporters. Since the DNC made such a big deal over the boos that Ted Cruz received at the Republican convention, they certainly didn't want those optics at their own gala event.
They want to portray the Republicans as being in disarray and divided, so the booing of Cruz plays into that meme. The optics of a lot of mad Bernie-bots would not play into the idea that everyone is "with her" (Hillary). So....Debbie gets the ax.
Wow..she fucked up..she trusted the Clintons....there has been an awful lot of that going on over the last thirty years.
The most incredible part.....DWS is going to meekly accept this, just like every other sacrificial victim on the altar of Clinton selfishness.
Good decision.
And who among us will not miss hearing Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz?
The party is fully rigged, she is expendable now.
Bernie has already washed the nominee's feet...
Let us have a hack of RNC emails against Trump.
It was Debbie's fault. Mistakes were made. Debbie bears all responsibility and has been punished. This is now old news.
Now move along. There is nothing further to see here.
She's expecting to be rewarded with a cushy sinecure in the the coming Clinton administration. She isn't going to get it.
She isn't going to get one even if Hillary wins.
As if the Dems really wanted Bernie to win the nomination. Even the people who voted for him didn't believe he would win and didn't want him win the nomination. And that stubborn old fool would not relinquish the race easily even after the realization of his vulnerability in the GE. And to top it all he is not even a Democrat. Let us not hang DWS for all the ills of the Dem primary.
On a related note, Trump has been very good re: one aspect of the presidential election:
Trump fuels Democratic voter surge
Of course some of this can be attributed to Sanders, but the bigger Rep problem is not just Trump but down ballot Rep candidates.
Battleground-State Voter Registration Gives Democrats Early Edge
And the fact Dems are just better at GOTV, plus Trump's campaign organization, if such an animal exists are rank amateurs at best.
Let us have a hack of RNC emails against Trump.
We don't need one...the Republican Establishment is attempting to conspire against Trump in the open...Hell they publish op-eds about it.
"Raises questions?" What a joke! The leaked emails demonstrate conclusively that the DNC took actions to favor Hillary. "Raises questions" my ass.
Sad. They were talking up how unified the Dem party is just yesterday. Was supposed to be a theme of the convention.
Blabbermouth Schultz is more than a little unhinged and only the Lord knows what she is going to say next, but it still quite something to ban the Democratic National Committee chair from the Democratic National Convention.
This is an anti-woman move by the DNC
I don't think Debbie's Spanish skills were up to the task. They'll probably hand the job to Villaragirosa.
Will there be closed captioned reporting of the Spanish language portions?

"Another person who outlived their usefulness to the Clintons"
DWS was merely the factotum for HRC.
The Russians go all in for Trump.
Wasn't this kind of obvious when they scheduled the debates in a way to guarantee the fewest possible viewers?
You knew she was in trouble when she started posting here a few weeks back as "Unknown."
And people who leak stuff often leak it through Russia to cover their tracks. The the Democrats blame the leaks on Russia to salvage whatever propaganda value they can from it.
Any bets on when DWS "resigns" from all party positions? I would guess next friday around 8PM. After the convention and too late to make the news.
I found it interesting that Crooked Hilary's campaign manager, Robbie Mook, claimed that Russians hacked the DNC servers. This seems to be an implicit admission that the Russians also hacked Hilary's email servers. It sets up a nice campaign question for Trump: "If Crooked Hilary believes that the DNC servers were hacked by Russians, what evidence does she have that her servers were not?"
As Comey implied in his statements and testimony.
He did not come out and say it though. This led me down another rathole of thoughts. At the time I was reading a bio of Russian spy turned informer Elizabeth Bently Clever Girl by Lauren Kessler (Buy it through Ann's portal. Very interesting book). She named a lot of names of people who had been passing secrets to the Russians through her. Most of them fairly high govt employees.
There was most of a chapter devoted to the FBI's dilemma of how or whether to prosecute them. They had confirmation via decrypted Russian messages, the Venona Transcripts. Prosecuting them would open several cans of worms such as admitting that we were reading the Russian mail. More importantly, that we were decrypting it. Also questions about legal admissibility.
I wonder if similar thinking was behind Comey's vague answer about whether he thought her email had been hacked?
And while on the subject of Comey, I kind of like what he did here with Crooked Hilary. If she is not indicted, she cannot be pardoned. If she is not indicted and pardoned now, a future president could prosecute. She is left twisting in the Nixonian wind. A fitting ending for one who began her career helping twist others in the wind on the Watergate committee. Let her go to her grave wondering if and when the hammer is going to fall.
Even if she becomes president, here AG might still go off the reservation and indict her. Unlikely but Crooked Hilary does have a reputation for crapping on people. A crapped on AG is independent enough to start a prosecution. Very unlikely, of course. But let that shadow of doubt remain in Crooked Hilary's mind.

"The Russians go all in for Trump."
I love that this is becoming the Hillary talking point. Isn't Hillary the one who famously "reset" our relationship with Russia? As the chief diplomat of the United States, she goes all in to "fix" relations with a foreign power, and their reaction is to go "all in" for her opponent? This is supposed to make her look good? It's frikkin' hilarious.
I wonder if they are rethinking Bernie's speaking slot? What happens if he is really, really, pissed off? He shows the speech where he is going to say all these nice things but then gets in front of the mike and goes nuts. (Stays Bernie, in other words)
I guess they could cut his mike and hustle him off the stage but the optics are not good.
Wishful thinking?
Even if that doesn't happen, what do his supporters/delegates do while he is speaking? A healthy demonstration of contempt for the system would be nicely in order.
John Henry
It's just the beginning. Progressive wars, opportunistic regime changes (e.g. Ukraine, Libya, Egypt, Syria), removal of honest brokers, refugee crises, anti-native policies, urban ghettos, class diversity (e.g. racism, sexism) selective-child, Planned Parenthood, progressive debt, etc. have amplified the cognitive dissonance in the Democrat Party and fractured the unstable coalition of diverse, conflicted factions that populate its ranks. Schultz may be concerned that another "Benghazi" event would make a difference now.
This is minor.
More interesting is the very partial view the mail dump gives into the process of media collusion. It seems the DNC was giving orders to various people, producers, media executives, even direct orders to face-men like Chuck Todd.
One has to wonder what other networks manage this system. The DNC is itself simply a mechanism, passing instructions for matters within its scope. One does not get a picture, exactly, of the basis for these relationships, i.e. why and how the DNC has the authority to give such instructions - ownership and finance.
Anyway, if it isnt clear yet, it should be by now. US mass media is a managed system reporting to a single center of power.
AReasonableMan: "The Russians go all in for Trump"
LOL
Here we see the next modified limited hangout for the left on hillary's emails:
Initial position: her emails were completely secure!
Next: her emails may not have been completely secure but no classified or useful info was in them
Next: some classified info was in them but that's up for debate!
Lastly: ok ok, good stuff was in there, they were hacked, by the Russians, but it's all because of Trump!
For the left, history begins anew each day.
Debbie is being hidden behind the curtain. So what. That will teach the idiot socialist from Vermont to crash Hillary's Party. It's her party and she'll run it the way she wants to.
"And while on the subject of Comey, I kind of like what he did here with Crooked Hilary." I don't. But he can still redeem himself by stepping down on the day after the inauguration. "The American people have made their choice, and they have every right to do so. But I have to make mine. I cannot in good conscience work for someone who engaged in egregious conduct that would have prevented anyone else from working in any government position ever again. I cannot in good conscience enforce the law under the authority of someone who has shown blatant disregard for the law and betrayed the public trust while in office. Since the American people have made their choice, it is only fair that I give the new president the opportunity to appoint a new director whose views on the rule of law and the ethics of public office are more aligned with hers."
The Russians probably are behind this.
This does not absolve the system from its corruption, that it was revealed by an enemy for his own reasons.
Information is information whatever the source.
If anything it is extra shameful that this (and much else, recently) has had to come from such a source. That we are all reduced to depending on Putin for learning of matters that should be turned up by this allegedly free press.
Jill Stein is still offering the top spot to Bernie in the Green Party.
The mantra among Bernie supporters now is, "It wouldn't be a wasted vote, if he can get 5% then next election the Greens will get government funding". That's actually a pretty strong argument (from their point of view) and could dilute the "voting third party is a wasted vote" mantra enough that it could actually work.
And if it does, the Left could wind up being split between two parties and lose elections for the next 25 years. Think Canada.
Which is why Bernie won't be allowed to do it. I'd say the odds of him being assassinated by the Hillary branch of the Left were he to try it are over 80%.

Nope. Calling a cow a horse doesn't mean you can rid it off into the sunset. Crooked Hilary gave Putin what is defined under Federal Law (CFR) as an "Emergency Stop" button. Red pushbutton on a yellow background.
http://www.daybydaycartoon.com/comic/april03-2010/
I am not actually a fellow "engineer".
When you think about it, "Emergency Stop" works better as a metaphor than "reset". Unfortunately, the button was non-functional, not connected to anything.
John Henry
"I know it was you, Fredo."
The Russians are responding -- with concern and extraordinary patience -- to Obama and Clinton's cold war reset, hot wars throughout Eurasia, and anti-native policies (e.g. refugee crises).
Too bad. The Democrats could actually be stronger and more effective without that miserable harpie.
Although you just gotta hand it to them; making damn sure that Bernie Sanders didn't get the nomination was smart. Just don't make it so obvious.
The Democratic Party is looking more like Hydra every day.
Wait a minute. If DWS needs to step down because of shit that came out in the emails, then basically the Clintonites are publicly admitting that what the BernieBros were bitching about the DNC was right: their thumbs were on the scale for HRC.
So, to expiate this most grievous fault, the Dems just banish DWS, & that's it?
Screw that! Let the cry arise in Philadelphia "Do Over! Do Over! Do Over!". The people united will never be defeated! (it sounds better in Spanish, so get Kaine to intone it).

It's the Russians, the Russians! Sure there were e-mails there but it's the Russians' fault! Wait 'til the Russians start releasing Hillary's SOS e-mails.
Also, interesting that it seems the DNC was one of the parties involved in organizing anti-Trump demonstrations at his events. That would be useful for any persons pursuing damages in connection to these; in addition, since there has been a pattern of violence, isnt there some basis for a RICO investigation? There would be fascinating outcomes from the discovery process I suspect.
I note that Cleveland was remarkably peaceful. I suspect that any further organized violence may have been seen as too risky to the organizers, given that they probably knew, some weeks ago, that their communications were compromised.

Massive cheering while he speaks with endless chants of "Bernie! Bernie!Bernie!" and non-stop booing when Hillary speaks. That is all they need to do.
And yeah, I agree that even this headline is absurdly biased. When the Democrats are in trouble, "proves conclusively" (which this does, and is what would be said if it affected Republicans) morphs into "raises questions".
In any case, it is also clear that the Democratic party is a criminal conspiracy, acting as a tool for interests inimical to the well-being of the nation.
A proper, if dangerous, solution would be for the next administration, if sufficiently bold and independent, to engage in a general investigation of the Democratic party under RICO.
There is a huge putrid mass under that rock.
@buwaya,
I suspect that any further organized violence may have been seen as too risky to the organizers, given that they probably knew, some weeks ago, that their communications were compromised.
I also suspect that the Democrats' internal polling showed that those demos only helped Trump, especially the violent ones.
It's interesting that Cleveland was so peaceful, isn't it? Like, maybe, the Dems can turn that stuff on & off like a tap? Of course, Philadelphia may just turn into Chicago 1968 all over again, & that'll blow my conspiracy theory right out of the water .
And actually, if you think about it, this does the opposite of "raises questions". Both Republicans and Bernie supporters have been alleging media bias for years/months respectively, but the narrative was that there wasn't enough evidence to prove it conclusively (which is a lie, but plausible enough for the LIVs.) It's no longer plausible to deny it. There *were* questions. Those questions have now been answered conclusively. Headline: "raises questions".
@Shiloh Note that the Photo shows a sign up for Bernie. I know it's just anecdotal but it's unlikely the Bernie's are going to vote Hillary. Most likely they'll wander to the Greens or stay home. Of course after the Debbie e-mail revelation they may decide to take over the convention. That would be fun.
From the article counterfactual to your claim, or perhaps just sloppy reporting: "Over the past four years, Republicans have shown greater overall registration growth in the battleground states. The GOP added almost 614,000 voters in the seven states reviewed, while Democrats have gained about 289,000." Given the quality of headline writing these days you are never safe to base a conclusion on one.
"I wonder if they are rethinking Bernie's speaking slot? What happens if he is really, really, pissed off?"
Not a chance. It's Bernie's turn to get paid and I'm sure the terms are already settled. It's not a bit far-fetched to think that Bern's DNC speech will have been written by Clinton's people.
Apparently she didn't do well in focus group testing amongst the key demographics.

Why are Russian hackers helping out Trump? Does this not give anyone an uncomfortable feeling? Trump is tight with Putin, too tight?
It bothers me a lot more that the DNC was so easily hacked.
Among other things, Heidi ho, Hillary Clinton insulted Vladimir Putin to his face calling him soulless. Russians are big on soul. Perhaps Putin is just sickened by the thought of her. The fruits of her incompetence have already been plucked. He would probably rather someone not ridiculous to deal with.
WAsserman served her purpose.
"It bothers me a lot more that the DNC was so easily hacked."
They should have had the Secret Service guarding the server, like Hillary.
Who cares what Putin wants? Since when does Putin get to direct our political campaigns? Why would he prefer Trump over Clinton? Because Trump seems to hold a similar worldview to his?
No, what gives Dems "an uncomfortable feeling" is the actual content of the emails.
I wonder how peaceful Philly's going to be now? I'm sure there will be a calm, measured response from the Bernie Bros.
With Little Debbie gone, I can only imagine who all of the boos will be aimed at.
Lots of fingers crossed, "Please Bernie...stay on script...stay on script..."
There's going to be a lot of tight sphincters at the convention that night.
"Who cares what Putin wants?"
You seem to care quite a bit.
Heidi shrieked: Who cares what Putin wants? Since when does Putin get to direct our political campaigns? Why would he prefer Trump over Clinton? Because Trump seems to hold a similar worldview to his?
Did it occur to you that maybe Putin prefers Bernie and that's who the Russians are trying to help? Bernie and Putin honeymooned in the same country.
Why does HeideCruise remind me of the shopkeeper in the 'Dead Parrot' sketch?
It's odd for Hillary mouthpieces to bring up Putin. When I think of Hillary and Putin, it starts with the "reset" or "recharge" or "electrocute" button fiasco, and goes downhill from there, then I remember what an unmitigated sequence of disasters Clinton presided over as Secretary of State. Yeah, that gives me the warm fuzzies...
What is the big deal? DNC favored openly Obama in 2008 including giving him delegates he didn't win.
I care that Putin is interfering in American politics and it doesn't seem to bother any Trumpites.
I bet they were shocked, totally shocked to find out that there was favoritism. How dumb do the party officials have to be to have miss something so obvious to dispassionate observers (and passionate ones as well.) Those emails were bouncing around the political class, and lots of people must have seen them before Wikileaks got their hands on them.
The Clintons corrupt everything they touch. The Democratic Party is no exception.
You folks sure had a fit when you thought the Pope was interfering in American politics. Go figure. You prefer Putin?
"Who cares what Putin wants?"
The Clintons' Foundation cared a great deal that Putin wanted the Rosatom-Uranium One deal.
Heide and her friends may come up in some email, already out or yet to be released. The details of the contract troll shops are out there.
Putin and co. probably know all that already, as they are known to run major troll shop operations and doubtless keep track of others in that line of work.
Trump gave to the Clinton Foundation.
Whereas your crappy security bothers you not at all. Not surprising, really. I guess that's how you excuse Hillary's incompetence with regards to IT security.
The Clinton's had influence. Putin had money. Putin's money purchased Clintons' influence. Win/win for Putin/Clintons. Big fat lose for Americans.

Huh??? We Trumpkins are supposed to fix this or be responsible for it? Of course I care, as do many non-Trumkins. Putin has the goods on her. How is that likely to work out?
The whole point of opposition to Hilary is her corruption. This is a product of that corrupt woman and her corrupt husband. I would be very unlikely to vote for Donald Trump in most circumstances. Excellent point, DBQ. Bears repeating (which I just did.)
I care that Putin is interfering in American politics and it doesn't seem to bother any Trumpites.
1) The Clintons have raise millions from foreign donors. Isn't that interference in American politics?
2) Putin is behind the email hack is a theory advanced without evidence by agents of the DNC in a effort to distract the press from the substance of the emails. So far the press isn't going for it, because they aren't stupid enough to ruin what remains of their creditability by bowing to the dictates of Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
3) Why care about the source if the content is factual? Your concerns amount to an example of the genetic fallacy. Look it up.
Really Meade? President Putin? Maybe we should just join with Russia and become the new USSR.
"DWS was sure to be booed at the convention by a lot of very disgruntled Bernie supporters."
Yeah, I bet Debbie didn't take much convincing. May have even been her idea.
Admittedly it takes a while to go through 20000 emails but so far what's been reported is small beer. Based on his past accusations i'm sure Bernie expected to read worse. Meanwhile, Trump's twitter taunts of Bernie are just crazy. I predict Bernie will show himself far from exhausted campaigning for the ticket.
Well, he's...he's, ah...probably pining for the fjords.
"Maybe we should just join with Russia and become the new USSR."
NOW you're thinking like a real Clinton! I mean Nixon. No, I do mean Clinton.

Two groups, Campaign Legal Center and Democracy 21, who work to combat the influence of big money in politics, announced they would be filing the complaint with the Federal Election."
Foreign governments have always tried to influence American politics. Why is this news?? The Saudi's have bought and sold American politicians for decades. HRC is on their payroll, and on Putins. HRC just took things to the next level, and opening auctioned off influence for money. I suppose the Bush dynasty was 'better', in that they were discreet.
Debbie is just another Parti Apparatchik, who will do, or say, anything for the Party. They are all disposable, at the whim of the leader. Both parties seem to produce them in abundance.

You would think a pardon would require a conviction, or at least an indictment, but that ain't necessarily so. Gerald Ford pardoned Richard Nixon, who had not been indicted or convicted of any crime, and no one objected, either because everyone assumed the president's power to pardon was absolute or else everyone was happy to see Nixon go. If Hillary loses the election, we can assume Obama will give her a pardon for all her transgressions short of murder. Who would have legal standing to sue to challenge his actions? Would Trump do so, knowing it would diminish his authority and that of every president thereafter? Would the SCOTUS even agree to take on such a hot political issue or would it defer to the other, explicitly political branches to work things out (as CJ Roberts disingenuously claims he prefers when it comes to matters that are more political than legal)? And if the SCOTUS did accept to review a challenge, what is the outcome likely to be in a divided court of 8? Would it be worth the effort to have the Court review the case?

Bernie is already putting the emails behind the need to defeat Trump. He spoke pretty strongly about it already this AM. I give Bernie Sanders a great deal of credit. I wish he would've been the nominee. In the meantime Democrats understand the menace that is Trump and are united in defeating him. Can you imagine a Trump presidency? I shudder to think of it.

You sure about that? Seems to me voters objected, which is how we wound up with President Jimmy Carter.

It really detracts from your arguments when you obviously couldn't care less about anything except the one goal of defeating Republicans and electing Democrats. So there is really nothing to engage with with you, except a campaign poster.

Yes. Any reduction in the power of the presidency is welcome in my book. Obama has been a bad president from nearly every angle one cares to look, but perhaps the corrosive aspect of his career is his lawlessness. If it takes a ruling from the Court to prevent the Obama legacy from being normalized, I say bring it on.
BTW, The installation of a ninth justice will be a Trump priority next January. If the situation arises as you have laid it out, I believe it will be at least a 5-4 decision in favor of indictment.
Perhaps the Russians are behind this, perhaps not. Other countries could also do something like this, such as China or even Israel. There are a lot of countries that have reason to hate her. Odds are this is just the first round of releases. Come October, we'll likely see quite a few emails from her homebrew email server, including thousands she claimed were deleted and some containing classified info.

Why? America is the counterweight to Russia and vice versa to keep the honest people honest and the power hungry, capital hungry, and mass abortionists from running amuck. Not unlike the fragile harmony that exists between men and women that makes life interesting and productive.

If we are going to play hypothetical let's keep in mind that presidential pardons are for federal crimes. A lot of what Hillary has done can also be prosecuted as state crimes. So president Trumpy appoints an army of special prosecutors to investigate the corruption of the Obama Administration and the Clinton Foundation and the prosecutors find a state AG that finds the evidence sufficient to bring state charges....no need to bring the Supreme Court into this.
Trumpian style narcissism? Give me some of that!
The DNC Rules Committee has named Rep. Marcia Fudgepacker, D-Ohio, as permanent chair of the convention, according to a DNC source. She will gavel each session to order and will gavel each session closed.
Oops, Rep. Marcia Fudge..damn auto correct !
Gerald Ford pardoned Richard Nixon, who had not been indicted or convicted of any crime, and no one objected,
Huh? Better define "no one".
Perseus, I believe. Medusa is clearly Wassserman-Schultz.
No..Medusa was too competent......I suggest that DWS is one of the three Graeae...DWS is Pemphredo, Valerie Jarrett is Enyo and Clinton is Deino.
the daily mail's take
I doubt that. Nothing on me hardens when I look at her.
Not even your resolve? ;-)
Can you imagine being that Robbie Mook character and having to stand in front of the press and exclaim "It was the Russians, the Russians" and keep a straight face?
My resolve was adamantine from the get-go.
"It was the Russians, the Russians" says our Heidi.
"So what? So what?" says everyone else.
"So what?" Well that says plenty.
It says we care about truth, not innuendo, asshole.
No..Medusa was too competent......
Good point but you can't deny that Wasssserman-Schultz LOOKS like Medusa.
If you think for a moment that the Russians haven't hacked into the RNC also, you are delusional. Why they're not dumping stuff from the RNC should raise eyebrows.
"Well that says plenty."
It does, doesn't it?
Mostly what it says is that the emails are incredibly damning. Turns out those Bernie Bros were right, after all. Oh well, a broke clock is right twice a day!
And your evidence (that everyone here is deluded except you) is... what, exactly?
If you think for a moment that the Russians haven't hacked into the RNC also, you are delusional.
You haven't even established that they hacked into the DNC. Concluding a conspiracy on the authority of non-evidence is prima facie delusional paranoia.
Are you blogging from a "rest home", Heidi?
Given the state of the Democratic Party, where the OWS canaille is practically writing the party platform and a fan of Saul Alinsky is the standard-bearer, I'm sure they'll easily find some other government sniffer and State shtupper to take her place.
"Good point but you can't deny that Wasssserman-Schultz LOOKS like Medusa."
You've never seen Medusa and I can prove it.
From the Oracle of Breitbart. Your preferred news source.
http://www.breitbart.com/tech/2016/06/14/russians-hack-dnc-trump-files/
"Presidential committee officials and security experts are reporting that the Democratic National Committee’s servers have been hacked by Russian government hackers. One of the main databases hacked was one containing all of the opposition research on GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump.
This infiltration is another example of Russia’s desire to understand American politics and to gain information on its possible future president. The depths to which Russia infiltrated American governmental systems just shows how skilled and determined that the Russians are when it comes to espionage relating to the American government.
Shawn Henry, president of the cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike employed to secure government servers, told the Washington Post “It’s the job of every foreign intelligence service to collect intelligence against their adversaries, we’re perceived as an adversary of Russia,” he said. “Their job when they wake up every day is to gather intelligence against the policies, practices and strategies of the U.S. government. There are a variety of ways. Hacking is one of the more valuable because it gives you a treasure trove of information.”"
Blogger HeideCruise said..."If you think for a moment that the Russians haven't hacked into the RNC also, you are delusional. Why they're not dumping stuff from the RNC should raise eyebrows."
Having limited my newsgathering today to this blog, I took it as face value that what this Heide person was saying was established; that the Russians had hacked the DNC. But now it looks like this is just the DNC talking points.
You've never seen Medusa and I can prove it.
No, you cannot. ;-)
"The depths to which Russia infiltrated American governmental systems just shows how skilled and determined that the Russians are when it comes to espionage relating to the American government."
Boy, it's a good thing Hillary took steps to thwart them when she set up her own server to conduct government business.
"Presidential committee officials and security experts are reporting that the Democratic National Committee’s servers have been hacked by Russian government hackers."
Ever hear of confirmation bias, Heidi?
"No, you cannot. ;-)"
How does stone type?
The DNC got a tame IT guy to say it was the Russians. I don't see how this makes any difference but people inside campaigns are delusional anyway.
Someone who "do[es]n't take the majority of rightists here seriously" is surprised when one of them asks her "So what?". Why should any of us care what she writes if she doesn't care enough to even think about what most of us write? Just another paid shill earning her pennie-per-comment rate by keeping the quantity up and not worrying at all about the quality. I'm looking forward to future Wikileaks showing exactly who's paying whom to do what.
Quaestor: Are you blogging from a "rest home", Heidi?
Probably just getting toward the end of her shift, so she sounds even more unstable then when she's fresh. Looks like they had her up trolling past midnight last night, then she had to pull another shift.
"Progressive" organizations have a well-deserved reputation for treating their cult members, er low-level employees like shit, which explains why they're only able to field embarrassingly low-quality trolls.
Boy, seeing how good the Russians are at hacking secure servers, it really puts a new light on how incredibly stupid and reckless Hillary was for making classified material available to them.
@HeidiCruise If you are as convinced of the Russians' capabilities ( and about 1 million others, BTW) then you should be scared to death about what and when they are going to release from Hillary's "private" servers. This could just be the tip of the iceberg!
mockturtle said...Perseus, I believe. Medusa is clearly Wassserman-Schultz.
per Wiki: A Greek folk etymology connects the name to the name of the Persian (Pars) people, whom they called the Persai.
Wouldn't it be cool if ValJar slew Medusa? Using mirrors, of course.
This feels Nixonian. Did Clinton know this was going on and if so when did she know?
Hey :)
This is the blog post:
"Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz will not speak at or preside over the party's convention this week..."
"... a decision reached by party officials Saturday after emails surfaced that raised questions about the committee's impartiality during the Democratic primary."
Breaking news email from CNN.
-----------------------------------------------------------
A Reasonable Man hands the deflection off to HeideCruise.
And she runs with it.
Too bad we can't use the word T***l anymore.
@Heide.
Presidential committee officials and security experts are reporting that the Democratic National Committee’s servers have been hacked by Russian government hackers. One of the main databases hacked was one containing all of the opposition research on GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Please do try & keep up. The purported Russian hack that stole the Trump Oppo research was reported as of 6/14/2016. When the hack occurred is anyone's guess.
An anonymous hacker named Guccifer 2.0 claimed credit for the hack of the e-mails. There are, as yet, no proven ties to Russian intelligence & Guccifer 1.0 or 2.0. There is no reason why there could not be multiple hacks, each looking for different things, into the DNC systems.
My guess: the email hack was an inside job. I'm sure, going by years of experience with IT types & personalities, that probably 50% of the IT staff that work at the DNC are BernieBros. They saw what was going on against their man, & they "arranged" a hack, either among themselves or one guy working with a group like Anonymous. I mean, this would be easey-peasey. With minimal planning & prep work, it could be pulled off between 2:00 & 3:00AM on a Sunday morning, and absolutely no one would notice anything amiss.
More assertions. No evidence presented so far.
If the DNC is so damned sure they were hacked by the Russians, where's their evidence? Wouldn't the evidence be a good talking point? I assume that because they're not forthcoming regarding their evidence of Russian complicity I'll assume there is none.
@jon ericson 1403 Good find. Thanks for the link.
I must confess Mr. Drudge found it for me. :)
How does stone type?
Stonily.
Im good with the Russians doing it.
Why shouldnt they? They probably have everything getting said within the US government as it is. Dem party email would be something to do on their tea breaks.
And it does add to the message that the Dems are hopeless at national defense.
Must be someone's break time.
Union rules and all that.
"The Russians go all in for Trump." Heh. If Russia wants to support Trump, they just have to release Clinton's emails, proving that they indeed had hacked them. Clinton supporters better hope they don't support Trump.
This could just be the tip of the iceberg!
Julian Assange has said there are more DNC emails yet to be released, so it's likely there's more to the iceberg than what has surfaced so far. No mention of emails taken from Hillary's home-brew server. However, Guiccifer 2.0 (possibly a group, possibly a nothing) claimed to have hacked at least three separate home-brew servers installations, whether "he" intends to release those is unknown to me.
Believe it or don't believe it, but the evidence is there.
How Putin weaponized Wikileaks to influence the election of an American President.
Close your eyes and imagine that a hacking group backed by Russian President Vladimir Putin broke into the email system of a major U.S. political party. The group stole thousands of sensitive messages and then published them through an obliging third party in a way that was strategically timed to influence the United States presidential election. Now open your eyes because that’s what just happened.
On Friday, Wikileaks published 20,000 emails stolen from the Democratic National Committee.
A large body of evidence suggests that Guccifer 2.0 is a smokescreen that the actual culprits employed to hide their involvement in the breach.
That would be consistent with Russian information and influence operations. “Russian propagandists have been caught hiring actors to portray victims of manufactured atrocities or crimes for news reports (as was the case when Viktoria Schmidt pretended to have been attacked by Syrian refugees in Germany for Russia’s Zvezda TV network), or faking on-scene news reporting (as shown in a leaked video in which “reporter” Maria Katasonova is revealed to be in a darkened room with explosion sounds playing in the background rather than on a battlefield in Donetsk when a light is switched on during the recording),” notes a RAND report from earlier in July.
The use of Wikileaks as the publishing platform served to legitimize the information dump, which also contains a large amount of personal information related to democratic donors such as social security and credit card numbers. This suggests that Wikileaks didn’t perform a thorough analysis of the documents before they released them, or simply didn’t care.
It’s the latest installment in a trend that information security researcher Bruce Schneier calls organizational doxing and that Lawfare’s Nicholas Weaver calls the weaponization of Wikileaks.
The most remarkable example of which, prior to the DNC incident, was the June 2015 the publication of several sets of NSA records related to government intelligence collection targets in France, Japan, Brazil and Germany. The data itself was not remarkable, but it did harm U.S. relations and may have compromised NSA tradecraft. “Wikileaks doesn’t seem to care that they are being used as a weapon by unknown parties, instead calling themselves a ‘library of mass education’. But the rest of us should,” Weaver writes.
The evidence so far suggests it’s a weapon that Putin used to great effect last week.
"Clinton supporters better hope they don't support Trump."
Excellent point. From more than one angle, this "the Russians did it" line doesn't look very fruitful for the Dems. Must be all they got.
Break's over!
The DNC should've hid their server in the shitter.
The Russians would never think of looking for it in there!
And she is GONE GIRL!
Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz resigned Sunday as chair of the Democratic National Committee. Her departure comes on the eve of the Democratic National Convention after the release of DNC emails casted doubts on her leadership during the recent primary. For more details: http://www.politico.com/story/2016/07/wasserman-schultz-wont-preside-over-dnc-convention-226088
DWS is out after the convention, it has just been announced.
I am so so so amused this has happened amid all the Happy Party talk.
Another Clinton acolyte bites the dust.
Believe it or don't believe it, but if the 'evidence' begins "Close your eyes and imagine", continues with "A large body of evidence suggests" and "That would be consistent with", and ends with "The evidence so far suggests", then the obvious conclusion is that (a) the person writing the article (like the person or algorithm quoting it) desperately wants you to believe there is evidence, but (b) there is not in fact any evidence at all, just guesses guided by prejudice.
I did like the depiction of Russia's fake-news department: I imagine Heide's workplace is a bit like that, though less exciting.
DWS just quit as DNC chair.
Assange (or whoever he is working for) has another scalp.
Not much of a scalp, though more may be coming. We can hope.
I see what you did there :)
"Not much of a scalp,"
Are you kidding? Have you seen that head of hair?
Qualitative not quantitative. :)
From Martha's link:
Rep. Marcia Fudge of Ohio will serve as chair of the Democratic convention, a move that was ratified by the convention's Rules Committee on Saturday night.
Transparency: The words "Fudge," "rules," and Democratic" in such close proximity.
The Soviet Union ran an enormous fake-news department during the Cold War, and at the time the Democrats (after@1968 or so) and the left loved them for it. Or, at least, loved their work.
They missed them badly after 1991. There was much mourning and denial, some of it continuing to this day.
Its odd, really, that they are complaining so about this, the abilities of their former friends.
The hillary flackers on this site are probably at pucker factor 9 as its only a matter of time before the russians dump the contents of hillary's secret server for all to see. This is just a taste of things to come. You only have yourselves to blame by blindly following this criminal harpy.
Mitrokhin and Conquest will now be required reading in colleges across the land!
Goodbye, DWS!
Hillary Clinton's war on women claims yet another victim.
But the main points here arent about some criminal harpy figurehead, its about the entire party, and its owned press. These emails arent from Clinton, and dont compromise Clinton herself (or not yet). These are about everyone else. They are all Clintons.
A large body of evidence suggests that Guccifer 2.0 is a smokescreen that the actual culprits employed to hide their involvement in the breach.
Once more you prove my point, Heidi. Assertion is not evidence. Let's see some of that "large body of evidence."
Does anyone else see "wasserman" and think "washerwoman"?
Good decision getting rid of DWS. Long time in coming.
Mitrokhin and Conquest will now be required reading in colleges across the land!
And Joe McCarthy will be the Left's new secular saint!
"Good decision getting rid of DWS. Long time in coming."
I eagerly await the same response from you when Clinton's emails get released!
Go to Zerohedge - coverage of Philadelphia street demos.
No Hilary signs or supporters to be seen in Philly. Plenty of Sanders backers.
Maybe later I suppose.
There are 57 card-carrying Russian hackers involved in the DNC email dump!
Trump's tweet:
"I always said that Debbie Wasserman Schultz was overrated. The Dems Convention is cracking up and Bernie is exhausted, no energy left!"
I'm sure that Bernie's Beaneaters are disappointed that they won't have Dirty Debbie to flatulate around.
Well..she will have fun speaking at the convention.
Seems like yesterday when Obama was weirdly emphasizing how cute she is.

Re Hispanic "consumers"
Hmm..does this jive with her somehow not speaking?
"Going forward, the best way for me to accomplish those goals is to step down as Party Chair at the end of this convention," Wasserman Schultz said in the statement.
"As Party Chair, this week I will open and close the Convention and I will address our delegates about the stakes involved in this election not only for Democrats, but for all Americans,"
@Original Mike: "this "the Russians did it" line doesn't look very fruitful for the Dems. Must be all they got." Right. Regardless of whether the Russians hacked the DNC, they surely have all the 30K "non-work-related" emails she destroyed. It will be fun to see how that becomes public -- a taste on Nov. 1, another right after the election, a third the day after the inauguration? If I were them, I'd slow-play the thing, for maximum humiliation.
If, & I say "if" because this is an hypothetical, the Russians are behind these leaks, the reason why may simply be personal -- Putin may simply loath HRC. I mean, there's no shortage of folks who HRC has rubbed the wrong way. Putin seems to me to be the kind of who not only holds, but also tenderly nurses, his grudges. I mean, there's no shortage of Russians who got shitcanned because they got on Putin's bad side.
We among the lumpenproletariat hope that when our leaders get together, that national interests & moral policy holds sway. History tells a different story. When the leaders personally loath each other, it's a great impediment to international statecraft.
I notice DWS has combed out her trademark 'fro. The PC pressure about her "cultural appropriation" was too great, I suppose.
That happens every 2 years. It snaps right back though.
Okay, everyone, here's another hypothetical, and this one doesn't require just one tinfoil hat, it'll need a whole container ship full of them. Fasten yer seat belts!
What if these hacks & leaks, made to look like the Russians did it, are actually the NSA or CIA or both targeting HRC because of the bullshit she pulled with all that classified data? They're mad as hell & they're not going to take it anymore!
At this point, you're going "YH, you so full of sh------Oh God! What if it's true?".
Maybe it was space aliens who have an affinity for orange skin.
@Heide,
I wouldn't be surprised if Bill & Hillary pissed off the aliens when the Clintons had their secret visit to Area 51.
HRC: "Great, Bill, you've just set back interplanetary relations 100 years with that little stunt!"
BC: "But, Hill, you know I've always wanted to have sex with a green chick, & it's not like there are that many around. Once in a lifetime, you know what I'm sayin'".
Apparently we won't have DWS to kick around anymore. She has resigned...
