The rain has added to the wettest May on record for cities in several southern Plains states. Oklahoma City, which received four inches of rain last year, has recorded more than 27 inches this year.
(!) Quite a change. I'm glad the drought is over. It's not unheard for droughts to end in flood. Go out with a bang, I guess.
The weather patterns seem unfamiliar because a warming trend that peaked in 1997 has reversed itself and become a clear cooling trend for the last 18 years.
It has been is funny to watch the temperature data set keepers re-writers desperately trying the narrative of a necessary warming weather illusion that is needed to justify a world government's grab of a tax base in energy production and distribution profits.
It now is called dangerous "climate changing," as colder arctic air dips down in winter and summer changing Texas type air patterns for Canadian type air patterns.
This morning,my wife and I drove down those streets seen in the above images; as always after a flash flood, the streets are dry but the water left a big mess to clean up. Folks who live in flat places simply don't understand how fast water can rise in the Hill Country of Texas after some rain. Yes, the Highland Lakes are refilling, which is wonderful, but when a drought breaks there is almost always collateral damage.
As I live in Austin (hence my old moniker AustinRoth), I remember last few years of dire headlines in the oh-so Liberal Austin American Statesman that Global Warming had left Texas in a new, permanent state of drought that would never end.
I await the new dire headlines of the new permanent state of flash flooding caused by Global Warming.
Seems like Liberals just cannot read historical records and realize that Texas is state with a LONG history of drought and floods.
Tim said, "Suffering in Texas is funny because many of them are religious and they tend to vote Republican. Lol."
Tim, are you warped? What kind of perverted thinking sees suffering as funny? Your far, far left streak is showing in your antireligion/antirepublican comment. Shame on you!!
I suppose Tim in Vermont is getting his licks in for those Texas bumper stickers in the 70's (during a natural gas shortage) that said, "Let Those Yankee Bastards Freeze In The Dark".
And if Obama had his way, shutting down as much gas and oil production as he can, that's what would happen to Tim in Vermont.

I have to laugh at the video headline in the link: Texas Storm Damage Shuts down Daycare.
(Meanwhile, weather has killed people!)

Yeah, it's not really important since it's not New York City.
Tropical storm rains without the tropical storm.

Tropical storm rains and waters without the tropical storm. Strange Days.

Global warming is at it again.
Texas Flood: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWjlUfLqKcc
A few months ago the lakes were empty, and water rationing has been in place for years. Everybody wanted water!
As the Genie said, be careful what you ask for.
"We need a LOT of water, Fast!"
"Poof!"
Genie disappears...

Nor when I show up for a vacation. Monster storm in Sydney last month? That was me.

Yup, just as I thought. Your sarcasm meters are in need of adjustment.
Texas weather is God's way of keeping the weak and whiny would-be immigrants from the coasts to a minimum. The tough and committed are welcomed.
