"We need to know who they are, and so far, they are saying they're not going to give us that information."
Said Governor Dave Heineman of Nebraska, where the federal government has moved 200 children, whose identities and specific locations are kept secret.

Same thing is happening in MA.
Secret flights, secret camps.
What is the source of this right?
We need to know who they are, and so far, they are saying they're not going to give us that information.
Not only that...but we need to know Obama's end game here. His whiny petulance will not suffice.
Hey, it's across the board....IRS, Justice, EPA, OSHA, CSB...
The CSB?
Great editorial by Kimberey Strassel in the WSJ on Friday about this little-known and apparently completely out-of-control federal agency, the Chemical Safety Board, which is doing whatever it wants and is utterly unresponsive to any outside authority....Obstructionism, bullying, lawlessness.
"The president says openly that neither Congress nor laws will keep him from implementing his agenda. That attitude now seems to reign at every body in Washington, down to the teeny CSB. Blame Mr. Moure-Eraso for dysfunction, but remember that he's just emulating the boss."
All this will only get worse, much worse, and the GOP has already called impeachment off the table.
I'd be very worried if I were Japanese, Israeli, or Ukranian.
I'm interested to know the political, damage-control calculation behind the Obama administration's relocation efforts, and when that planning actually began.
This wave of illegals is a mystery that gets to look more like a conspiracy every day. If Obama wanted to destroy the country, what would he do differently ?
Why is no one in the MSM pointing out how dangerous a precedent this is going forward? We will not be able to put the toothpaste back in the tube once the majority of "dreamers" or whatever you want to call them wind up staying. The fact the feds don't give a shit what the governors think or want is icing on the cake. "FUCK YOU! We're the GOVT. DO WHAT WE SAY!"
Are we setting precedents that will be pointed to when the prisoners in Guantanamo are relocated to undisclosed Midwestern states without the governors' knowledge and we're told after the fact?
Have you been vaccinated?
Remember..it's not just these kids. next their parents will move here, in the name of humanity. Then any brothers and sisters. Grandma and grandpa. aunts and uncles.
That is how our current system works..especially for "refugees".
"Native Chiefs had the right to know when the whites decided to start transporting a large group of individuals, in this case lazy and violent religious opportunists with a slave fixation, into their country."
Just trying it on, seeing how it fits,...
I do not understand the need for secrecy, particularly since some of the "children" are MS-13 gang members. It's like a reflex with this administration -- someone wants to know so of course we won't tell them.
Michael K,
"If Obama wanted to destroy the country, what would he do differently ?"
Listen to you,...
The goal is blindingly obvious:
1) Flood the country with illegals
2) Require no ID to vote
Democrats favor both. It's their plan for a permanent majority.
Not only that...but we need to know Obama's end game here.
Venezuela.
Secret camps. What could go wrong?
Truth and honesty are being suppressed daily by this "regime".
No longer does the word "administration" seem applicable as we are now dealing with a tyrannical form of government.
I suspect Obama spent a lot of political capital to get many activists, union friends and federal agents of change on board toward amnesty, along with liberal consent; the business community and some Republicans to get something done.
Then after getting no results, he's decided to keep pushing and blame this particular whole unintended consequences mess on Congress because when it comes to compromise, given his backers and fellow travelers, this is probably as close to an 'American-middle' as he gets.
Barry has been angered.
He spent a lot on Obamacare and got it passed, and even though its a godawful mess, it's still a success for him. It's. The. Law.
So now, he appears to be using those federal agents of change and cronies to mop-up and bureaucratize the mess further which should be pretty familiar by now.
Don't worry, it's all being taken care of...
A lot of this behavior with (czars, peace activists, SEIU, the NLRB) makes more sense if I choose to think of him as a progressive, warmed-over activist and self-chosen agitator, sitting as a younger man at some meeting of the Left back in the 70's seriously trying to explain to Bill Ayers, Jesse Jackson etc. how to reach some compromise through the political process and his own charisma, but never getting too close.
Some (southern?) state either passed or is considering a very reasonable law to charge federal agents with "human trafficking" if they traffic humans into that state.
Maybe I should google it...
State health authorities should flex their muscle and insist on medical certificates, to ensure that the interest of public health are being maintained, not the electoral interests of certain politicians.
What the Obama administration is doing is good and noble. That's why they have to do it in undisclosed locations by the dead of night.
President Andrew Jackson basically ignored the other two branches of government and did whatever he damn well felt like doing. This is Obama's model. Unless Congress decides to impeach him and remove him from office, that's the way it's going to continue to be until 11:59 am on January 20, 2017.
Don't you just love progressivism?
I do not think it is an Obama administration conspiracy. I do not think they are smart enough to have put all this together.
I think a cartel lawyer saw a business opportunity in the president's statements and U.S. law and advised his boss(es) to set up the business of recruiting "children" in Meso-America and transporting them to the U.S., so that much you could call a conspiracy.
I think the bureaucracies in the countries involved feel a good deal of schadenfreude at the U.S. getting itself into such a mess and may well be helping it along a little; they certainly are not doing anything much to stop it.
I think the Obama administration does not know what to do, but think they might as well try to make some lemonade out of it to fire up their base and blame it all on the Republicans.
I think the U.S. agencies involved have varying ideas and policies, no guidance from the top, and their legal departments warn them not to disclose the identities of minors, etc., and so forth, so you get all sorts of things happening.
So yeah, I think it is more anarchy and chaos than intentional conspiracy.
Chemical Safety Board
Won't someone think of The Chemicals?
Keeping it out of the news media seems to be one of the goals.
Hagar;
"I do not think it is an Obama administration conspiracy. I do not think they are smart enough to have put all this together."
From A. Lincoln (via wikipedia);
"We cannot absolutely know that all these exact adaptations are the result of preconcert. But when we see a lot of framed timbers, different portions of which we know have been gotten out at different times and places, and by different workmen- Stephen, Franklin, Roger, and James, for instance-and when we see these timbers joined together, and see they exactly matte the frame of a house or a mill, all the tenons and mortices exactly fitting, and all the lengths and proportions of the different l pieces exactly adapted to their respective places, and not a piece. too many or too few,-not omitting even scaffolding-or, if a single piece be lacking, we see the place in the frame exactly fitted and prepared yet to bring such piece in-in such a case we find it impossible not to believe that Stephen and Franklin and Roger and James all understood one another from the beginning and all worked upon a common plan or draft drawn up before the first blow was struck."
For all we know, Obama is training every one of the little maggots as an insurgent to cause attacks that he can then suppress with his brownshirt legions.
Be afraid. Be VERY afraid.
"Michael K,
"If Obama wanted to destroy the country, what would he do differently ?"

I think it is nice of Althouse to allow a lunatic to post comments as if he was a sane and reasonable person. Normally I ignore your droppings but, since you mentioned me, I observe your idiotic indifference to the importation of the competitors for your minimum wage job.
Nah, I think everybody is winging it and exploiting the mess for their own varying purposes.
Politicians can't even visit the detention centers unannounced. This is ridiculous. And meanwhile he made a point to not visit the border. And instead play pool. If that was Bush, the deliberate snubbing of people asking you to view Katrina, would have been met with howls of outrage. And rightly so.

I've heard - but not confirmed - that Alabama is the sftate. I approve wholeheartedly.
If this is true, and there's not reason to expect otherwise, then this is very troubling:
http://www.wnd.com/2014/07/mexico-guatemala-fast-track-delivery-of-illegals-to-u-s/
To get to this country they have to go through Mexico. And I Was wondering how they did that. Apparently it's being fast tracked by the Mexican Govt to move them through their territory to ours. They are deliberately causing this crisis. If we had a real presidet this screwing with our borders would be dealt with severly.
But we don't.
Governors don't work for the DHS or serve the President; they're peers, not vassals. So stop asking nicely and start governing. The National Guard is under the control of the states for a reason.
I'm more and more convinced every day that Obama and the dems are doing Cloward - Piven Part II.
Overload the system in order to precipitate a crisis (and never let a crisis got to waste)in order to enact some sort of social change.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloward%E2%80%93Piven_strategy
Sounds like a new lesson plan to me. We are officially no longer a sovereign nation.
What's the point of the TSA? Maybe that's what the pubbies should do, vote to disband the TSA & NSA because since our southern border is open ,there's no point anymore.
No money for reparations and with the dollar no longer the reserve currency, fun times ahead!
What the Obama administration is doing is good and noble.
And I wonder why they hate the Black man so much.
I am waiting for Afro Americans to have some kind of "WTF is going on here" epiphany. Few things to consider:
Is this a strategy to keep AA's "in their place" as a percentage of the population? Forget black genocide.
Is the Hispanic demographic the "rising star" for the Democrats to pander to?
Have AA's become a political liability with the likes of Peggy Jo & Obamaphone lady?
Will Hispanics really take minimum jobs away from the AA's, or do Democrats feel that the typical AA is too shiftless and lazy to take those jobs anyway?
Will working Hispanics have more potential to donate to Democrat campaigns versus Peggy Jo or Obamaphone lady?
Would not "hard working minimum wage" Hispanic immigrants make for a much better optic than Obamaphone lady?
How about the "entitlement pie" getting sliced thinner?
Inner city neighborhoods can be dangerous too - why the "war on AA children"?
So, Crack, who are the racists keeping the Black man down? Who are the racists banking on the Black man not having the smarts to figure this out?
I went back and re-read the Strassel op-ed that I referenced above.
I left out some of the amok agencies she mentioned...NRC, NLRB, National Mediation Board, HHS, along with Justice, OSHA, IRS, and NSA. Surely, even that's not a complete list.
Stuff like this doesn't happen randomly. Someone somewhere, like the President, gives the nod, and that's all it takes. A nod.
The most frightening sort of evil, to me, is the sort that smiles, is eloquent, and is handsome or beautiful. Here in America we expect evil to scowl and wear a turban, a Mao jacket, lots of epaulets, or brown shirts. Here, political evil is market tested, the way P&G studies, tests, and launches Swiffer, a household cleaning product, and that's what I think has happened.
Someone at the top nods while the nation nods off. While America Slept....
"Be afraid. Be VERY afraid."
Then you'd have no problem putting them up at your place, correct?
Step to it, boy.
Be afraid. Be VERY afraid.
I think that there is reason to be a bit afraid. First, we know that gang members are entering this country mixed in among the kids. Hard to tell whether someone is above 18 or below, esp. when somewhat malnourished by U.S. standards (and ignoring that gangs often recruit kids under 18). Combine this with the TSA only requiring easily forged travel documents for these illegals to travel. No verifiable picture ids. Nothing but something that can be printed out on your computer.
So, what is keeping people from entering this country as supposedly children from central America, etc., and then using the TSA documents given them to travel wherever they wanted, and possibly trying to hijack a commercial jet?
Michael K,
"Normally I ignore your droppings but, since you mentioned me, I observe your idiotic indifference to the importation of the competitors for your minimum wage job."
Only you can explain how - in one sentence - an "indifference," so staggering it's "idiotic," makes me "competitors" with anyone.
I'm sure you won't, because you're an intellectual coward, but only you have that power.
Then there's the assumption I should be fighting, so hard, for something (my life is for struggle - yours for golf).
And fighting for something that A) doesn't help - unless I come from a third world country, because it doesn't even pay the rent here - and B) doesn't address the crime this country committed against it's own black citizens to create our problems.
This is the same "thinking" you use, to be ignorant of race, while going on about Dem "plantation" blacks - CONVINCED that's the language to bring us to your "colorblind" side.
Because only someone who DOESN'T SEE RACE associates blacks with plantations.
Or reveals themselves as thinking of us as slaves.
Or sees themselves as somehow - better.
You sad, pathetic, little man,...
Michael Crack has never performed an abortion.
Crack is accurate when you replace "whites" with "Leftist" in his writing for him.
Most are in denial how deeply Leftists are entrenched.
Their positions of power do, in fact, mean America is indeed racist.
GE in racist Michael.
MSNBC is racist.
They, racists all, think NBC is middle America.
Only deluded racists think that.
"Who will rid me of these troublesome refugees?"
Seriously, Human Rights activists shouldn't feel comfortable with how the Administration operates. Fast and Furious demonstrated that an unknown number of dead and wounded Mexicans was no impediment when it came to moving U.S. gun control policy.
Any U.S. citizen who handed a minor over to one of the human traffickers transporting these kids north would be guilty of (at the least) child endangerment. Even if the children remain in the States, their parents should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for their criminal actions.
A corollary: The kids shouldn't be handed over to family members already here because of the possibility those kids might fall back under the influence of their criminal parents.
Human Rights violations are certainly happening. Every kid put on a truck north is the victim of a crime. Whatever else happens, we should be sure that even if we can't punish the criminals we don't reward them.
"Only you can explain how - in one sentence - an "indifference," so staggering it's "idiotic," makes me "competitors" with anyone. "
There are drugs for your condition, Crack. Some are Chlorpromazine but it has significant side effects which you've probably experienced; and Haloperidol , which does have similar side effects. Then there is Risperdol which might be better choice for you.
Seriously, you are not making much sense and there is help available.

What he said. Also, the Democrats greatly prefer an electorate 45% Mexican voting 80% Democrat to a crumby 13% Black voting 95% Democrat. So, tough luck, Crackster. Thanks for all the votes, and be sure to write when you find work.
"Federal Government Says It Is Just Following the Law"
So, since when does the Federal Government follow the law?
Dinesh D'Souza offers the hypothesis that Obama was conditioned by his progressive thinking mother and, in particular, by the mythology she created around his father, to believe that the culture and political system of United States was morally flawed from the get-go. And so it is not surprising that Obama came to believe that all of America's subsequent wealth was either stolen from the Third World or else created by slavery and greed.
Later, as an adult, the lectures and sermons of Rev. Wright solidified this world view in Obama's mind.
D'Souza thinks Obama's political agenda is shaped by his belief that before America can be reformed there must be a kind of pay back for its original sins--a penance if you will. Only then can the country be reshaped in the image and likeness of Progressive Thought.
Whether D'Souza is right is open to debate. But it certainly does seem that much of what Obama has done, and not done, can be explained by D'Souza's hypothesis.
Mtrobertsattorney:
TheCrackEmcee thinks that white people are infected with the sins of our forefathers. The sort of magical thinking -- New Age, if you will -- that assumes inherited guilt or Original Sin is peculiar to me, unless one assumes a God.
The fact that Obama seems to have a similar belief system, but about a country instead of individual white people, should not surprise. Cloward-Piven in practice never ends as the idiot professors think. Such is life.
Whether D'Souza is right is open to debate. But it certainly does seem that much of what Obama has done, and not done, can be explained by D'Souza's hypothesis.
What about the folks and fluffers who swallowed Obama's load of crock? What's their excuse?
The original sin is not being olde world.
Where is the UN? They'd love to make hay over this.
Re: D'Souza
I don't know, but I'd love to read the profile of Obama that governments around the world have put together on him.
Back when Nixon was president there must have been 10 books written psychoanalyzing the guy (how he signed a childhood letter to his mother as "Your faithful dog" or something like that). I see very, very little about Obama like that, and his childhood was utterly bizarre.
Just finished reading Bombastic Bushkin's bio of Johnny Carson....When he died he was worth $850 million, and he was bitterly unhappy, no friends (he never had any, ever!), four pack a day habit, four wives...The man hated his parents, especially his mother. Didn't attend her funeral. Thank God, he didn't have nuclear weapons. He would have blown up Nebraska.
Mark, at 10:11 this morning nailed it.
Secret camps. What could go wrong?
The citizens of other nations with "secret camps" don't necessarily get cut much slack, nor should they. Nor should we.
Regards Cliff
What is the source of this right?7/13/14, 9:02 AM
Them being here illegally. They broke the law and the federal government is refusing to enforce the law and are trafficking them. They are housing and fostering them out on the taxpayer dime in secret locations where noone is allowed access.
The public and the governors have a right to know...especially if they are released and traveling with NO I.D..
There SHOULD be complete transparency as it relates to kids because do you really trust a bunch of ideological bureaucrats to take proper care that these kids won't be abused in the facilities or foster families being paid a $1000/kid plus free healthcare?
Also, have you noticed how everyone is ignoring the thousands upon thousands of adult illegals being ushered through and dumped behind this veil of children? Again, allowed to travel with no proper identification.
And by Bill Ayers, I don't mean the boogeyman Bill Ayers, I mean more of a warmed over radical type, now teaching Moby Dick, lecturing everyone about the sins of the past gathered around John Brown's body etc.
More a 'man of the Left' likely to think the spirit of the immigration laws possesses something wrongheaded that needs to be redeemed, then altered.
It would help explain the adversarial relationship with many of our allies and with domestic political opposition, it may do some work in explaining why Obama's approach seems consistently behind the 8 ball strategically-because he would see what's in place as needing deeper structural change by organizing and gathering coalitions of the like-minded to leverage whatever influence they can...constantly campaigning and rallying the troops. Unlike the Clinton coalition theres not a lot of worldview with which he fundamentally agrees about things as they are now, and why she's seeming more 'old-hat' these days in addition to other reasons.
Such a vision would have a lot of the 60's New Left about it, and post New Democrat even.
So now we are back with internment camps?
'Secret'. I doubt it. I think the Governors should be asking more questions. Someone, somewhere, will know something and tell them.
Playing up the Secret Internment Camp angle would work though. If only Governors had a sense of history.
He's shipping them to try and turn states Democratic. Does anybody really doubt otherwise?
A Republican President would be wise to suspend enforcement of ALL laws until Congress makes the laws more clear and gives less (virtually none, ideally) authority to bureaucrats.
"Clean Air Act?" Well, given the vagueness of the law, the EPA is ordered to cease enforcement of it completely until clarification is provided by Congress.
Should keep Congress from making more stupid laws AND limit bureaucratic power.
The biggest plus of Obama is he is SEVERELY increasing disdain for immigration policy.
Heard an interview this a.m. on NPR with the Israeli ambassador to the U.S. where he was repeatedly asked what strategic advantage was Israel trying to accomplish in the current wave of violence. When told that it was a defense, not a stratagem the interviewer asked, OK, so what's the strategic advantage Israel is seeking. It was repeated multiple times.
Just read a couple of articles on Hamas & the current bombing campaign. The consensus is Hamas is seeking to stay in power by generating hatred for Israel, even if it costs lives from its base. In fact Hamas actually asked its base to defend Hamas positions an fighters from Israel.
This strikes me as eerily parallel to the U.S presidential response to the invasion of the southern border.
St George,
"The most frightening sort of evil, to me, is the sort that smiles, is eloquent, and is handsome or beautiful. "
Indeed.
Consider:
“I live in the Managerial Age, in a world of "Admin." The greatest evil is not now done in those sordid "dens of crime" that Dickens loved to paint. It is not done even in concentration camps and labour camps. In those we see its final result. But it is conceived and ordered (moved, seconded, carried, and minuted) in clean, carpeted, warmed and well-lighted offices, by quiet men with white collars and cut fingernails and smooth-shaven cheeks who do not need to raise their voices. Hence, naturally enough, my symbol for Hell is something like the bureaucracy of a police state or the office of a thoroughly nasty business concern."
-- C. S. Lewis (preface to Screwtape Letters)
