... which prompts Jindal to retake the mike, say "I want to make sure he hears a more partisan statement," and let the Democrats have it. Nice fighting spirit, Bobby!

Good for Jindal. The democrats seem to live in a fantasy world where every dream can come true, regardless of reality.
Next, Obama will issue an executive order declaring 1+1=3. Just look how the economy will jump, then!
I'm seeing at Time, Inc. that Jindal "breach[ed] White House Protocol" by taking "shots at Obama."
http://swampland.time.com/2014/02/24/jindal-breaches-white-house-protocol-to-take-shots-at-obama/#ixzz2uHthdrNm
He loves the camera and really wants to be president but never will be...he's totally gross too.
He should of talked about how well his state ranks in just about every area.
His hour long speech at the Ronnie Library consisted of gays and abortion...an entire hour.
Say it loud, Bobby! Say it proud! Get in Obama's face.
Not bad but no humor. I don't think humor is is strength.
I wish he'd run in 2016....
White House Protocol?
I must have missed that day in Civics class.
I'm sure if roles were reversed, then there would be no mention of protocols.
Can you imagine....."Mr. X (D) made an elegant, and strongly worded statement that shapes the battle space for the 2016 election."
Wait!!
Did you notice the teleprompter?
Naah...neither did I.
Just remember, everyone, Gov. Malloy (back when he was the Mayor of Baltimore) was the model for "Mayor Carcetti" on The Wire. 'nuff said.
Malloy's a baby.
He is like the Kanye of politicians, he never saw a mic he didn't want to hijack. Reminds me of a little kid with his desperate calls for attention.
He ain't even VP material, though he is smart enough for it.
The president showed courage by using SOTU to scold the Justices, told it like it is, man!
Jindal, he was being uncivil!
Civility BS, part 3,423.
"Bipartisanship"="civility"=a tool liberals use when it suits them.
Deirdre Mundy said...

He's running. Cruz and Paul left an opening and he's going to take it.
This is his best showing yet, though it came off like the Republican version of Kanye saying Bush doesn't care about black people. The Daily Show's going to kill him with Malloy calling him “insane". And they'll be justified "when it comes to people making $404 a week.”
Republicans are tone deaf to ordinary people. Jindal may look tough to some, fighting for (as South Park pointed out) the abstract "economy", but Malloy's also made it very clear Jindal's fighting to do it by taking real money out of real people's real pockets - and that's not a winner politically.
Just for the record, some of us find the "should of" construction "totally gross" and think those who use it should not cast stones.
Isn't Malloy outnumbered politically in a meeting with Governors?
Why does he sound like he controls the narrative?
I can't wait for Crack to tell us what a racist white Southerner Jindal is.
He was also called a "cheap shot artist" on Malloy's open mike.
Extremely exploitable,...

Well, let's vet the sucker, like you should've done Romney, and see what we find - first thing, non-racial, also isn't very good:
A new poll released Tuesday suggests Gov. Bobby Jindal is among the least popular governors in the U.S.
@PB Reader, no, Obama will start by issuing an executive order that the ratio of the diameter of a circle to its circumference equals 3. He never liked π -- totally irrational.
He wrote a saccharine opinion column on race that skirted mentioning the history of this country's abuse of blacks by whites even once - a trick immigrants, looking for white approval, have learned - all the while, mentioning MLK like he popped out of nowhere, and not the fires of Hell that ultimately took his life.
Nah, ain't no black people going to vote for him - too subservient to white supremacy, and too ignorant of (or deceptive about) where he lives, to be seen as an American leader.

That's a low bar to cross.
Douglas,
Daniel Malloy is the governor of Connecticut; Martin O'Malley is the governor of Maryland.
The accent should have given away that Malloy comes from the New York end of the state, not from Bal'mer.
Maybe it's just me, but what I witnessed in the video was absolutely the worst racist attack on a minority I have seen in quite some time. Sure you can disagree with his views, but to attack a minority in such a condescending manner makes me ill. Especially a minority who has risen up from nothing to a position of influence. A person who has endured discrimination from childhood.
The video does not lie. He gets pounded down by the white establishment, led by a white governor. Bull Connor lives again Connecticut. I am stunned.
Here's a Daily Beast article that senses the same thing I got from Jindal's race speech - he's fooling no one but conservatives:
In the Obama age, a brown man who cannot or will not articulate his relationship to his heritage (aside from vague platitudes about the American dream) makes Americans uneasy. Today, transparency is touted as a virtue. But Bobby Jindal creates confusion in the minds of Americans who watch him: They sense self-deception.
That article has a question from Ann Althouse:
“If there’s someone of a different race, and you just have this gut feeling that something’s not quite right, why are you so confident that it’s not coming from racism?”
Ask the white people - they're the ones, with the 400 year history of it, always claiming they don't think about it anymore,...
Humperdink said...
"A person who has endured discrimination from childhood."
You've got the wrong guy:
Jindal has downplayed his ethnic background throughout his political life. He changed his Indian name during childhood and, against his father’s wishes, he converted from Hinduism to Christianity. When the New Orleans Times-Picayune tried to go to India to cover his Punjabi roots, his family did not cooperate. And on Sunday night, when Morley Safer asked Jindal if he experienced racial tension growing up in Baton Rouge, the governor responded, “Not at all.,,,"
Forget it, Folks - I've just gotten started and this guy doesn't stand a chance in debate. Still discussing his race opinion piece:
"If he had done even cursory research before writing his editorial, Jindal may have discovered some systemic inequities preventing minorities from assimilating to his satisfaction. Though Jindal is right that Americans have made “significant progress” since the March On Washington For Jobs And Freedom, the national black unemployment rate has steadily remained double the white unemployment rate for the past 60 years.
In urban areas like Chicago, the poverty rate and median income for black families is also about the same as it was in 1963.
Even segregation, once vanquished by the civil rights movement, is rebounding aggressively. Since 2001, urban schools and neighborhoods have become increasingly re-segregated through lax integration enforcement and so-called “white flight.” Research shows this resegregation intensifies poverty and violence in minority neighborhoods, trapping black families in an endless cycle. Jindal himself has helped this trend along in New Orleans with his school privatization plan, which has worsened racial inequality in 34 historically segregated public schools and, according to the Justice Department, “reversed much of the progress made toward integration.”
God, somebody clobbered him in the Examiner:
Mr. Governor, racism is NOT a feature of human conditioning; it’s a failure at being a decent human being that’s deeply rooted in unsubstantiated hate and fear and entrenched in human envy. Indeed your inclusivity of all Americans being consumed with the struggle to get past the color of another American’s skin color is a watered-down, lukewarm attempt to shield a group of Americans that are rightfully at fault for instituting and promoting racism in America.
But let’s look more closely at my assertion. Are the Native Americans who befriended Myles Standish and the rest of the cold and starving Pilgrims to blame for instituting “Racism” in the “New World”? Or how about the African slaves that were first brought to Jamestown, Virginia in chains by Portuguese slave traders a full year before the Mayflower docked off the shores of Massachusetts,… are they to blame for being the originators of hate and discrimination in the “New World”?
Bobby Jindal for president? Not going to happen,...
They're both blowhards!

I thought we were gonna make it through a whole day without a Crack Attack!
No such luck!
I'm not sure Jindal has the charisma needed to become president. Time will tell. That said, I'm glad he was willing to speak truth to power.
Crack is undoubtedly right that black people will not be particularly interested that Jindal is an Indian man. In my opinion that fact doesn't really mean much since blacks will probably remain committed Democrat voters for many years.

It has worked so well for African Americans, I see no reason for them to change their behavior.
Racism/tribalism has genetic roots which go back to the evolutionary struggle for survival. Throughout history tribal groups have fought. Tribalism is not a rational opinion, it is an instinctual drive.
You rose to the bait, Crack, like I knew you would. You called me boring the other day, and perhaps I am. I never made any pretense to being a thrill-a-minute writer. But, if you'll excuse the metaphor, calling me boring is just the pot calling the kettle black. You're a one-trick pony, and there's nothing more boring than that.

Right now there is genocide going on in Africa against Africans in Nigeria and the Central African Republic. South Sudan has finally been somewhat relieved of the depredation by the Muslim Arab/African raiders who were killing villages and enslaving black Africans. Despite all this, Crack is constantly talking about things from 400 years ago.
You don't have to go back 150 years ago to read the life stories of African slaves. They are with us today. Here is a link to one slave's personal story.

This is one of my favorite blogs, for years. That includes comments. I have never commented until earlier today.
I have one question for the regular Crack Emcee.
Has there ever been a single comment on your blog? I couldn't find one.
Why do you think that is?
Jindal is from India where the brown skin is a Caucasian Race and where the way the upper castes treated the untouchables made American slavery seem benevolent and humanitarian.
Contrary to what lefties try to claim, Africans who are enslaved to Muslims suffer grievously. There is not a good (Muslim)and a bad (white American)form of slavery it is all abhorrent. Just read those stories and think about it. Those are life stories of people who are alive right now.
Wow. The comments at Politico are very interesting. I don't know a lot about Bobby Jindal, but the hatred expressed for him there makes me kind of like him a little more.
And I'm not sure why its so controversial that Jindal mentioned the Keystone Pipeline. That's a project that's a big positive for his State; of course he wants it.
Also, I did find the scene of a bunch of old, white guys chuckling at Jindal as if he was a child a little disconcerting. But he's a Republican...
Here is another story about a Dinka boy who was crucified. That's right, he was literally crucified. Here's his story.

I'd like to know from Crack his opinion of the Africans and Arabs that sold blacks to the white man in the first place.
They were engaged in slavery like everyone else. It was an ancient custom and institution, like a lot of other disgusting shit from that era. So I think of them as I do everyone else. Everyone that's not American.
That means they didn't eventually write laws saying only blacks would be slaves like American whites did.
That means they didn't eventually write "All Men Are Created Equal" and then renege on it for (in Jefferson's case, 4% annual) profit.
That means they weren't mutilating and raping the wares to be sold - including children - it was mostly business to the Africans and Arabs.
That means the Africans and Arabs didn't have sufficient information about the horrors taking place in the New World and, if they had, some speculate the entire business may have come to an end a lot sooner. Or, at least, the various white versions.
That means they didn't free the slaves and then immediately erect laws to hold blacks in that same political place for 100 years.
So no, actually, I take that back:
Until America cleans up it's mess, those Africans and Arabs might stand a little bit taller than whites, because none of what blacks are complaining about, here, was the product of their imagination.
How do you feel about them?

Ebbers Palomino,

Yes, I have my regulars, but a lot of them email me rather than get caught up with the likes of these clowns. They see what else I attract and it doesn't interest them.
Also, especially back in the all-NewAge days, people told me they hated getting blowtorched so why comment? I understand that. It takes about 5 years for reality to catch up with me, so I can seem insane in the moment, but it does catch up:
If I had told you supplements were bullshit five years ago, and Mitt Romney was a con man for selling them, you would've thought I was crazy and an asshole.
But - here we are 5 years later - and not only did you not listen to me, but you've spent thousands of dollars on nothing, plus tried to elect a con man from a cult to the highest office in the land.
Would you seriously comment then?
BTW - if you follow that first link, you'll see the videos were submitted by a reader.
I have my fans,...
You've been going someplace strange lately, Cracky, and I don't much know what to say to you these days, but Illu@9:31 beat me to it: the slave trade to the East was a) primarily about sexual exploitation and mutilation rather than chattel labor for industrial and domestic purposes and b) if someone's cite a while back was correct, far, far more lethal. You've got a right to your own opinion but not to your own facts.
May I make a suggestion? We might learn something from your analysis of Western slavery in terms of its origins in England, France, Spain, Portugal, or wherever based; and on its effects on the Africans involved, as compared to the indigines in those places (e.g. Brazil/Mexico/Georgia/Louisiana/Jamaica, as well as such slavery as was practiced in the African colonies, e.g the Belgian Congo.

Inga, I'm glad that you are such a perfect person.
After conflating the economic benefits of the Keystone pipeline with the opportunity for states to squeeze tax revenue from those "oil stuffs", Malloy goes on to call Jindal's "white flag" statement "insane".
If the bulwark of your middle income economic policy is a minimum wage increase, then you really are raising an economic policy white flag.
Nichevo,
May I make a suggestion?
No - you read me saying I was aware. You also read me saying I see it differently.
I've mentioned before that my father had me reading Aristotle at 13, partially so I could understand slavery outside of the American context - an education most ignorant assed we-don't-think-about-race whites never get. I've studied every version of slavery, pretty much, including how it's done today - and won't be patronized about it.
As in most things of this nature, I think I understand the issues surrounding blacks and Arabs - here and abroad, then and now - better than you do.
Slavery is slavery, and brutality is brutality, but they didn't call America's version "the peculiar institution" for nothing. Can you imagine?
Even in the cesspool of wickedness that was chattel slavery, whites somehow left the rest of the world with it's collective jaw hanging open at their inventiveness in cruelty.
Now THAT'S saying something,...

For both groups, it is not enough to want to be tolerated. They want to control and force people to approve of and give them whatever they want.
The revulsion of the Center of US society is just as bad for self-adoring proud to say they are 'queers' - tonguing one anothers tonsils in public at Hollywood get togethers as it is for Jindal's extreme views on abortion that pander to the Religious Right.

Illuninati,
Most of what you've been talking about is things that happened 400 years ago.
Why do you guys keep saying that? It STARTED 400 years ago. I was a child, old enough to know what was going on, when MLK got killed - it didn't end then.
When DID it end for you guys? Rodney King? How about this guy? Is he the end of it?
Seriously, you guys make no sense,...
Crack,
In what way am I not making sense? I told you I want to hear how life is treating you. What is difficult about that? I'm interested in what you have to say.
MY BAD - IS THIS GUY THE END OF IT?
OK Crack. I read it. Sounds rough. What can we do to change that?
Oh no, Jindal breached White House protocol. Go, Bobby go.
Titus,
Louisiana is actually moving up in the world of "rankings", while places like Michigan, Illinois, and California trend down.
Frederick Douglass broke White House protocol once. No blacks were allowed, but he persevered and got in to see Lincoln one last time.
I stopped reading Althouse when she turned off comments. I was pretty darn happy when I clicked a link by Instapundit not too long ago and found she had turned comments back on.
But after seeing every single thread now turned into a Crackumentary about what a horrible race whites are and how the black man can't live without constantly making everything about race....
Argh. Now I'm thinking she should turn comments off again.
Just kidding, Ann. I'd say have a chat with Crack and get him to calm down, but then he'd just scream racism louder.
Crack,
Jindal is "unpopular" because he tried to pay teachers and state employees the same for more work. Most of the state is Democrat and many work for the state. Of course they don't like that.
Are you suggesting that I am patronizing you? Are you sure that you're not patronizing me? I do not think that I deserve either.
I'm happy for you to say for instance that you understand the Arab / black thing better than I do, but then you don't explain it, you just state it as an end to debate. I'm letting you go on that, I'm not demanding expositions, but when you make a claim you might want to flesh it out a little bit.
That sounds worse to me than American slavery. It sounds like the difference between deaths in prisoner of war camps, say, and deaths in the death camps. Or the difference between animals domesticated for work, or pets, and those for slaughter. Crack, they woulda cut your nuts off, or your great-great's and you wouldn't exist!
So when you just say nuh-uh, it makes me, or if not really me then others, wonder if you're not looking for your keys under the streetlight when you dropped them in the alley because the light is better.
To put it venally, perhaps your focus is because the American experience is what happened to you and yours, and the Arabian experience, or the Brazilian experience, is what happened to someone else. So you don't care as much. It's always worse when it happens to you. "Tragedy is when I stub my toe. Comedy is when you fall down a manhole and die." Someone even more hostile might say that you have a reasonable expectation of getting concessions out of the West, but if you brought this shtick to Saudi Arabia, they would just kill you.
That's for the first part. Paragraph the second, when I make a suggestion your first word is no, so do I understand that no I may not make a suggestion, or no, my suggestion does not interest you, or no, that's not a valuable topic? Because I think it is, and I'm interested to know again reasons for your disagreeing, rather than you just putting that out there.
You're free to say what you wanna say, but I do think the give-and-take would make this a little more valuable. 2 monologues do not make a dialogue.
Crack, it is getting late and I have to go to bed. I do want to continue our talk about the present and how we can change things for the better.
Will somebody please call the drugstore and tell them Crack's prescription has run out again?
Worst part is all the knowing smiles and chuckling as if this is a big joking game.
Crack,
Do what Miss Inga tells you!
And speaking of patronizing, who is more patronizing to you, me or Inga?
Folks there's a difference between guilt and responsibility.
You can have a responsibility to recognize and remedy a wrong even if you do not believe you are personally responsible for it. Maybe it would be better to try to understand the wrongs and their effects rather than using so much energy in denying responsibility.
"Rodney King? How about this guy? Is he the end of it?"
Crack, I was about to go to bed when I saw this. King was driving 100 miles an hour and was stopped by CHP officer, Melanie Singer who was about to shoot him when Stacey Koon and the LAPD arrived to save his life.
Years before King, I had a patient named Johnny Green who really was shot by LAPD in a bad shooting. I spent years taking care of Johnny and testified for him when he sued the LAPD. He got nothing. Then a dirt bag like King gets millions.
Don't use King as an example to me.
By the way, Melanie Singer retired on 100% stress disability after the trial. Stacey Koon went to jail. I sent money to his family while he was in jail.

In like 3 months, I went from a guy with money in the bank, living in a house, a room full of music equipment, a job and "big plans" on how to make this mess finally get me back on stage, to a guy with an ulcer, two back injuries, medical bills, and no set address because I've got no money, nowhere to go, and little direction beyond I have to get another band together so I can get back to "playing all of our records all at once." That's what I do.
This is my step-father.
A fact that wasn't made clear to me until late in life, but which explained a lot about me - especially my music career.
Can you imagine if black families hadn't worked for the nation's wealth - or had been compensated for what they did do?
What's happened to me would be a bump in the road, and we wouldn't even be talking about ObamaCare,...
Nichevo,
Look, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to take the wrong tone. It's just that, I DO know this stuff and no, it's not much different:
"That sounds worse to me than American slavery. It sounds like the difference between deaths in prisoner of war camps, say, and deaths in the death camps. Or the difference between animals domesticated for work, or pets, and those for slaughter. Crack, they woulda cut your nuts off, or your great-great's and you wouldn't exist!"
"Animals domesticated for work, or pets, and those for slaughter" is the definition of the term "chattel slavery" which was practiced on blacks here. Considered animals. But even worse, in America (as shown in the true story 12 Years a Slave) blacks were even considered furniture.
And cutting off nuts? What do you think happened at the lynchings? They'd just hang a guy and go home? NooOOOOOO!!! Killing blacks was a big affair, with huge crowds, and picnic baskets, and preachers, and photographers, and when it was over - souvenirs for the kiddies!
Does Little Jimmy want an ear?
Well Daddy wants his cock!
People were torn to pieces.
No, dude, American slavery was weirder than anything even the Nazis cooked up sometimes.
I love that Bobby Jindal thinks, by not mentioning it, blacks are going to forget what we're dealing with so soon,...
Sorry about that last link - here's the real one.
Crack,
I read your account of your current circumstances and failed to see how any of it has to do with your race. Your mother died. That is a considerable loss. One thing to remember is that she takes with her at least one element of happiness: she outlived her son. I had desired to live as long as possible to witness the changes that would take place in the world over time. But then I had kids.
Kids change the way you see things. I no longer wish to live a long life. I want to live long enough to see my kids grow up but not longer than any of them do. This is going to be a challenge as, when she was just three years old, we already knew what will likely cause our daughter’s death. I also have a son who was born missing half of a chromosome. Just getting him to adulthood may not be enough to have him ready for life without us. This all is a long way of saying everyone has bad things in their lives. Your mom died. I wish you, nor anyone else, had to endure that. All I can say to help is this:
Three weeks.
Years ago I read a book that observed that it took three weeks for people to adjust to major life changes before achieving a new normal. This was the first thought I had when I learned about my daughter’s illness and the changes we would have to make to accommodate her needs. As it happened, we got to a new normal – and back to happiness – in less than two. Give yourself the time to process and cope with your loss.
I have observed that the folks who regularly comment here (with some exceptions) are a close knit bunch who care for and support each other. Had they been aware of the circumstances you are dealing with, many of them would have offered support and assistance whether it be tangible or at in least words. Instead of reaching out, you lashed out. Every white person is a racist according to you. If not for slavery and racism, your life would be great right now. That’s just bull. I think you know it is bull. But it is easier to lash out and blame the rest of the world for your situation than it is to deal with what you are experiencing.
It was your choice how to handle it. You chose poorly. I am sorry that your mother died and hope things turn around for you. At this time, I can offer no more than that.
And now, I wait for you to call me a racist Nazi.
Again.

Except for the last line, it doesn't - he asked how I'm doing.
That's a stupid thing to write, Matt.
You actually think I fell on hard times and started spouting off that everybody's a racist because of it?
ROTFLMAO!!!
Man, you guys can stereotype.
It's weird - you have these ideas about blacks and they totally erase reality.
No, Matt, as I said earlier, I used to spend a considerable amount of time in this "close knit bunch who care for and support each other" but they nearly drove me crazy with their race shit. So I left. But now I'm back and - post-Trayvon - I talk race, too.
Just like everybody else,...
Crack, learn some history. It was the white British who ended slavery early 19th century. It took them a little longer to stop the Arabs and N. African muslims from enslaving Europeans. When they did, they blew the shit out of places like Algeria.
It took until the 20th century to bring the Arabs, kicking and screaming, to stop.
But alas, slavery is still happening in places like S.Arabia and Africa.
Most white people did not own a slave or support slavery, in the U.S.
So learn the truth and thank the many white people who helped unchain black people.
Perhaps you, after brushing aside that chip on your shoulder, and Inga can discuss how best to tackle the
problem in NYC of more black babies being aborted than born. Margaret Sanger is getting her wish, but hey, slavery.
What did Althouse do to deserve this?
Crack, and excuse if I miss because should be asleep for my not great but hopeful job...I get the barbaric things you depict and it is perfectly sickening. I don't have to cite Channon-Newsom and say you're just as bad as we are - I'm not that bad and you're not that bad - but two remarks occur.
One, people generally, I think, are often wackadoo about executions and bloodsport - hangman in England selling the hangrope for a crown an inch, selling their soiled linen, their hands and thumbs for lucky charms - bullfights, bear-baiting, cockfighting, dogfighting - on and on and on. I think somebody stole and sold Napoleon's mummified penis as a relic, no lie.
This is not exclusive to the USA, to whites, to white on black violence. I suspect it is universal. I seem to remember daguerrotypes from the Old West of captured and killed desperadoes like Jesse James. White as a sheet. The Pacific headhunters. The Japanese boiling criminals alive. Humanity is rough around the edges. I would bet some nasty stuff goes down in "darkest Africa" too, I don't think the Belgians taught the Hutus and the Tutsis how to dance the machete and before thst they were braiding each other's hair.
That's getting fuzzy. I am tired, sorry. Second point was, the lynching and mutilation you describe was incidental, random; it was possible because blacks were dehumanized or degraded or what you like, sure.
But it was not the plan. It is one thing for "a" German, or a gang if them, to murder "a" Jew or "a" gypsy or "a" gay or "a" cripple. The thing takes another dimension when all the Germans try to kill all of the Jews, gypsies, etc. This castration, which I didn't see (I generally can't bear your links back to when you had that woman with half her scalp missing), was not the big idea.
The big idea in the West was, keep them alive, make them work, let them breed, we get more slaves, it's a money machine, we need money, we need labor, white convicts drop like flies, working rice and indigo, these guys like the mosquitoes, they all got sickle cell, genius! and the African tops sell us the bottoms! All we gotta do is show up and they're pushing their POWs and dissidents off on us, take them away, disappear these schmucks for us. Win-win-win!
...
...
It was not, let's bring over some guys, we'll neuter them all, bring over some chicks, we'll fuck them to death, in a thousand years they'll leave no trace except once in a while maybe a touch of caramel in a seventh son. We could fuck our own wives and hire our own waiters but we're such a fucked up culture were going to use Africans and throw them away like Kleenex. You don't keep Kleenex, you get rid of it.
Arab slavery was a total non-necessity. It was pure sadism.
It's the difference, not a fantastic one maybe, between having horses, or dogs, and having steers for meat and cows for milk and veal and more steers. Or maybe keeping pigs is a better analogy because pigs serve no purpose but to be eaten.
Did any Arab slaves get to build Washington DC? Who was the Arabian Banneker? Does any glory, any achievement, any trace remain in Araby of the African presence? Except as, you missed a spot?
I'm not saying you owe us for bringing you over here, but under what system or systems are you thinking that slavery was fun, slavery was nice? Why do you think ours was the worst? Whose do you think was better? The Egyptians, or for that matter the Israelites (I can take that side of it if you wish)? The Greeks, the Romans? On what basis?
Did you expect slavers to ship you here, work you seven years, ship you back to Dahoney and hand you back to the guys who sold you to them in the first place? Or carry you a hundred miles inland to your true home? What happened if an Aristotle ran away from an Alexander and was caught? A stern talking to?
I know you have counters, I don't pretend to have demolished your arguments and leave you reeling. But since I think you perceive my true nature, I hope you will give me your best rather than returning hostility for hostility.
Crack,
"That means they weren't mutilating and raping the wares to be sold - including children - it was mostly business to the ... Arabs."
Great Ghu but you are clueless!
Another commenter says: "I'm happy for you to say for instance that you understand the Arab / black thing better than I do..."
NOT ME, however! Crack, how many years did you live in an Arab/Muslim dominated country with a significant Black African population? I'm guessing maybe zero...?
By the way, I'm sorry I haven't kept up. I ditched Althouse when she started censoring us/stopped the comments. I didn't have much use for her after that. I also heard on Instapundit or someplace that she turned back on and so that's how I've dipped the toe back in the waters.
I'm sorry to hear of your loss and your various misfortunes. I do get the impression that it has all embittered you, which is of course not entirely unreasonable.
Some time ago I remember you saying that you needed a computer. I have old laptops, not great but you could blog with them. Do you still need?
...Hey that reminds me! Ever hear from/about mc 900fj?
Kirk, I am not conceding his point, I am enjoying the process of drawing each other out and finding what he means.
You're invoking Piper, Satan bless you (better him than Allah); so when a man says something you don't understand, do you call him crazy, or do you ask him what does he mean?
I was just reading about Syd Barrett today. Wish You Were Here was my favorite Floyd album. And I never knew. So sad.
Nichevo,
"You're invoking Piper,"
Now it's my turn to say, "Huh?" Maybe I am, but certainly now knowingly; please explain.
My pushback to our ranting friend is based on my living for half-a-decade in Southern Sudan, include that miserable part that included the inception of the Second Sudanese Civil War, prompted by the declaration of Sharia Law by the Arab-dominated national government. I know a little bit about this...
Oops: too long a day, too late a night, too many "ok, maybe one more"'s. I of course meant to write: certainly NOT knowingly.
Are you kidding me?!? Where the blue blazes did you get "Great Ghu" if not from the immortal (sadly no), the SF great, H. Beam Piper, author of Little Fuzzy, Space Viking, Uller Uprising, Murder in the Gunroom and many more? One of his pieties was that in the future human cultures would mash up together and we would say things like "Great Ghu" or "Satan knows."
OMG you must look him up. Some public domain stuff available. Oh wow and I thought you were cool :)
Beg pardon it is 2am. Ttyl. Pray be a little kinder to Crack, just a bit. Doesn't mean you have to kiss his ass, I'm not kissing his ass, I'm just being gentle because I knew him when he was in a better state of mind. Flies...honey.
ddh-Thanks for the correction. I just dislike O'Malley so much I forgot about how much I dislike Malloy.
Nichevo,
I got 'great Ghu' from people who got it from people who got it from people who read Piper, I guess.
Seriously I was one of the moderately-early ones on bix.com who hung out with Pournelle and Baen et al, so even though I mostly gave up on reading SciFi after graduating from high school (with rare exceptions) that sort of phrasing was all over the place in the early just-barely pre-internet days.
This blog can use some more black commenters.
This blog can use some more black commenters.
Dig it, man, black commenters are tired of being used!
Sure, you got it from Jerry Pournelle, he was tight with Piper. Could probably tell you what book that was-the Fuzzy cycle, I think.
If raising the minimum wage has zero impact on employment, isn't it really stingy to only go to $10 an hour?
Shouldn't everybody be guaranteed a million a year? Millionaires are rich so EVERYBODY would be rich.
Awesome!
And I'd buy the protocol excuse if this same media didn't lionize Colbert being an epic douche at the Correspondent Dinner to Bush.
Ask the white people - they're the ones, with the 400 year history of it, always claiming they don't think about it anymore,...
Who's the one who keeps bringing up the sanctified black folks all of the time?
Note: Not white folks. We don't really think about you all that often. Sorry.
Crack, can you explain why a Republican should spend ANY effort courting a vote that will go 90%+ to a Dem candidate even if said candidate lynched a black man in front of the media?
It's a waste of effort. Pursue groups you might convince and simply ignore the ones you won't.
It's not whites fault blacks have intentionally made themselves non-issues in elections. Voting in lockstep for one party every time is usually a mistake.
Crack:
What does "Until America cleans up it's mess" mean? Until slavery is repealed? Until blacks have the right to vote? Until schools are integrated? Until we elect a black president? WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
"
Slavery is slavery, and brutality is brutality, but they didn't call America's version "the peculiar institution" for nothing. Can you imagine?
Even in the cesspool of wickedness that was chattel slavery, whites somehow left the rest of the world with it's collective jaw hanging open at their inventiveness in cruelty.
Now THAT'S saying something,..."
It was called "peculiar institution" by Americans themselves because they understood it's wickedness. Arabs and blacks did not think much about slavery, it was a normal thing to them, that's why they would not call it "peculiar institution". This is why white people rose up against slavery and abolished it, and then forced blacks and Arabs to give it up,
I am reading crack's posts, his hatred of white people, the constant whining, and it made me think.... He surely realizes that blacks in any country with white majority are better off than blacks in any country with black majority. It must be really painful for him that evil, cruel, racists whites are better for his well-being than his black "brothers".
Unknown,
"WHAT DOES IT MEAN? "
Until we take careful notice of/until we take no notice of race.
I've uncovered the ruse.
Crack is getting advertising kickbacks from Meade. More comments, more hits ...
It all makes perfect sense!
Professor, I think you should consider re-naming your blog "The Crack/House". He now seems to dominate, at least in word count, the threads on every one of your posts that can be even peripherally or tangentially be hijacked to race, which is to say, most of them.
And he seems to have taken it upon himself to insult and demean every melanin-challenged person here and in the entire country with the worn-out, tired cliche of RACIST!
But it's your blog, so if it's OK with you...
Geometry, if people respond and engage with someone then I fail to see what the problem is.
If people were not conversing and it was all one sided maybe something should be done.
If you think someone is a troll, don't feed them and then complain about them.
