Blue and purple.
How nice to have a choice of blue. Our local greenhouses specialize in yellow and fuchsia. It's hard to find anything blue.
"When all you can get is yellow and fuchsia it's pointless to whine for blue."
A modified quote from my mother to me on any occasions.

The Plant-Wagonettes used to be the British royal family, no?

The Flower Factory - if you haven't been there you should go! A really great place to shop, but perennials only!

This is my push to support you small local business people!

There is something about women and planting in the spring.

Now who does all the bending and lifting and getting dirty and who sits on the sidelines?

I got yelled at the last time I said something like that.

Chez Meadhouse, Meade is the gardener. I'm just the photographer. But I did enjoy the shopping. I picked out things that "called to me," within the categories of things Meade has use for, e.g. hostas, ferns, lungwort, ajuga.

I plantsportated last night from Home Depot. A navel orange tree and a mini peach tree for my patio. I'm working toward fruit self-sufficiency. I also have a blackberry bush, a lemon tree, a tangerine, a forest of cactus pears, and I steal my neighbor's champagne grapes from a huge vine that he actually stole from the field behind my house years ago right after I planted it as a small plant. I never brought it up, and it would probably be dead by now anyway if he didn't move it. So sometimes crime does pay for everyone.

You have such a depressingly short growing season!

Last weekend was the big plant sale in the Twin Cities. Haven't posted any of my photos yet.

I realize there's little chance of convincing Meade to drive all the way up here for a plant sale, even if it is the Mother of all Plant Sales. I was remarkably restrained in my plant purchases this year.

Speaking of ajuga, I experienced a large winter die-off of ajuga this year. Still hoping that it will bounce back, but it's not looking likely.

Is that Heucherella 'stoplight' all by itself in the box on the left?

That's another plant I lost this winter.

The only thing that did really well this winter was the bunnies.

Gotta get me a dog.

I, too. Have grapes, orange trees, and lots of various types of berries. My wife and I split the fruit gardening duties and maintenance of the various bird feeders in our back yard and patio. Gonna hook up a poor man's automated watering system for the fruit plants and trees. A few weeks ago I put in 2 pallets of sod (900 sq ft) and hooked up hoses, sprinklers, and a timer device so that I don't have to be there every day to turn the water on and off. You have to be careful to get the right coverage but it has worked like a dream.

I admire the (Meade made?) wagon with great tires.

Ann is such a good photographer, just a natural eye for composition combined with some kind of magic awesome camera that gives rich color saturation, perfect white balance, sharp contrast. I am humbled as I look over my ridonculous amount of semi-pro gear.
