Big woman, big feet.

Mead considers then rejects the idea of micturation on the toes of the statue*.

*By "statue" I mean here, the large though rudimentary paper mache project which somehow found its way into a museum.

Thurber cartoon.

Meade has a wider stance than she.

Another statue defaced by the Walker stalkers that Meade has to clean up!

Your tax dollars buying ugly art.

Museums tend to bore Meade?

lol Burri.

Do the guards ever give you grief for photographing the museum art work? I've often been tempted, but the museums here make money selling postcard reproductions of their work.

Why is Meade urinating on that poor woman?

James Pawlak म्हणाले...

I have seen much better art work, by grade and high school students, displayed at the State Fair.

Hey! Knock that shit off!
Madison is a college town.
Somebody has to show the crappy crafts done by student,"artists".

Non-flash photography is officially permitted in the permanent galleries of the Chazen Museum.

There's an excellent temporary exhibit there now, by the UW art faculty, but I couldn't photograph that. Go over there and check it out.

Especially if you want to see a giant white gorilla covered in clear marbles. And bones, lots of bones.

Meade wasn't bored, by the way. And Meade is great fun to go to a museum with. We end up talking about the art at my favorite level of comedy/seriousness and the conversation dimension of the visit is just ideal. Most people either don't know what to say about art or are too serious and pompous about it. This is why people get bored at museums!

William म्हणाले...

The guess here is that Meade approaches art museums with the same enthusism that Althouse embraces twenty mile bike rides. The semiotics in this picture will give the gang from Isthmus a rich mine of material.

No, they get bored because it's a frickin' museum! lol Unless, of course, it's an aviation museum.

Bingo! You see, men have a clear advantage when comes to pissing on art. That woman in the news a while back tried but missed the mark. link.

Today's theme is gender differences, is it not?

As Ed might say, "Madame, you and Meade have hit the jackpot."

Leveling the playing field.

chickelit म्हणाले...

Leveling the playing field.

Strapping something on is hardly an advantage!
