"Protesters opened doors and 30-40 people rushed into the building with several people arrested following for bypassing Capitol security."

Writes Blue Cheddar Blog, prompting Meade to comment:
Rushing the building, rushing the bank, trying to block traffic – the police, who could not have been more accommodating to and patient with the protesters during February and March – this is the thanks the police now get. It would not be inappropriate for the protesters to now sing to themselves, in harmony, with feeling, and all together now, their well-practiced chant of "shame, shame, shame."
(Meade's comment has to go through moderation over there, and as I post this, it has not yet appeared.)

With all due respect to Meade, as far as the protesters are concerned, they see it as an inside job.

The cops are on their side, supposed to look the other way.

PS Just looked and there are no comments - Meade's or anyone else's.

Maybe they use Blogger, too.

Will someone tell me, again, why I was supposed to feel bad about the take-downs at the Jefferson Memorial?

Something about over-reach or something,...

It is a chilling commentary of our times that our governments simultaneously harrass citizens for taking pictures of law enforcement officers and order that devices be installed in all new vehicles that record every vehicle movement.

Well, then, I hope the egg man comes back tonight!

The "rushing" business means they got close enough to the doors. And, they don't fear the police.

Not quite like the parks department police at the Jefferson Memorial. When they took down a few dancers.

Wow! The civil disobedience thrill seekers were not planning for the Madison/Capitol police to oppose them. Authority is not being granted to mob attackers any more. Wasn't Weiner scheduled to speak in Madison yesterday, and he also suffered from a sudden loss of authority.

I've met Christians who feel empowered and important when met with persecution so they behave in such a way as to piss people off and persecute them.

If the government won't do it's part and oppress you so you can partake of the glorious struggle, you're screwed unless you can dig up some oppression to struggle against.

This isn't complicated.

Meade's comment is up.

And besides... who can afford a real vacation? Somewhere nice. Like the Dells.

The Capitol has a blog now.

Heh.

This is what you get for enabling a bunch of Union Brats.

Are the majority of Madison's citizens mad-dog, frothing, nihilistic anarchists that respect no order?

Is it because the Madison metro area comprises only 560,000 persons, and cannot sustain civility with a sizable population of university students and faculty - the majority of which are likely flaming leftists untouched by realities?

Milwaukee म्हणाले...

Could it be that even the police have their limits, and the protesters are pushing those? Are the cops returning to "law-and-order"?

Oh, poor widdle Needy is very, very upset.

What a weird, creepy couple you and The Queen have become.

MTI head: Time to get 'down and dirty'

Check out the commentary. The Madison lefty-liberal bubble is bursting. People like Germy (↑) have their sweaty spineless little backs against the wall with nothing left but ad hominems and getting "down and dirty."

Losers.

Ann Coulter thanks you for the reference to mobs, re: her new book "Demonic"

Lincolntf म्हणाले...

How'd I miss this thread? Must remember to scroll down in the AM. Anyway, it's great to see that the Kreskin-like abilities of virtually everyone who is not a braindead Liberal are still operative. They will ALWAYS break the law, push the boundaries, trample others' rights. It's what they do, how they measure their own strength. At this point I hope the dolts in Madison keep this up all summer. Expose themselves for the seething idiots they are.

KLDAVIS म्हणाले...

You mean, when people are allowed to openly flaunt the law they become less likely to obey the law?

Forget it, Ann. It's Walkerville.

Gordon Scott म्हणाले...

I'm reminded of a report on protests at a G-7 summit in Italy a few years back. As usual, the "anarchists" were tearing things up, well-supported by thousands of other protesters. At one point several police officers were surrounded by a mob, and some of the cops were injured.

That night the cops raided a dormitory being occupied by protesters. The cops tore the place up in the search, and they weren't very gentle with the occupants. One commenter complained that they were shouting "pacifisti, pacifisti" at the cops, but the police apparently weren't impressed by the pleas.

When one is exhausted, scared and thoroughly sick of thousands of pachouli-scented rich kids invading one's town to no good end, I suspect that it's pretty easy for one to get a bit casual when it comes to respecting civil rights.

In the case of Madison, substitute "Starbucks-swilling upper middle-class civil servants."

Milwaukee म्हणाले...

Is this story covered in any other news source?

Sigivald म्हणाले...

Rick: They don't.

The Evil Black Boxes are both not new and do not record every movement.

Or, to be accurate, they DO, but they're constantly overwriting it and only keep 5-30 seconds worth - and they don't record "where you are", since, they're not GPS trackers.

Which is useful for proving you're not the one who caused that wreck...

Meade म्हणाले...

Milwaukee,
there is this. And the State of Wisconsin Department of Administration Division of Capitol Police now has a blog.

Milwaukee म्हणाले...

Thanks for that Meade. I looked a few other places, and didn't see any other reports of this. Don't forget that last spring it was Democratic staffers who opened windows and allowed protesters into the building.

Things will be interesting, to be sure.

mariner म्हणाले...

It's hard to flaunt the law.

I mean, those books are heavy!

David म्हणाले...

It is not Walkerville; it is greedy pigs'ville. It is the moochers, grifters, leeches, takers, and other Madison maggots.
