Whoa! check out the "Sexy ZOO girl tests saw ride" which pops up after that video finishes...

coketown म्हणाले...

I don't get it.

I don't get it.

The first video is cool if you've had kids.

The second one is cool if you're into hot chicks.

JAL म्हणाले...

That really is cute.

Coketown -- watch the whole thing. The otter really is playing with the kid.

Having just got one of my too infrequent fixes with the 11 month old granddaughter, we've been laughing at lots of sute things today.

JAL म्हणाले...

"cute"

wv natch
Natch.

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

You have to watch it to the point where the boy starts testing and then challenging the otter.

I satisfy neither of those conditions. :*(

If I could walk with the animals, talk with the animals...

I wonder what's going on in that otter's brain. Especially when the kid starts being tricky.

Anyway I bet the boy wishes pigeons would race with him sometimes. But maybe it's more fun when pigeons scatter in terror at your approach.

Rose म्हणाले...

LOve it!

Penny म्हणाले...

Nobody else around but those two, having the time of their lives in just one minute.

That otter seems so friendly. Almost like a dog.

It's great to know there's a little something common among a lot of animals (mostly mammals). Enough to share some joy.

If you don't get it, or think this is cool only to those with kids, you're a bozo.

AST म्हणाले...

LOL! How many of those who checked out the "Sexy ZOO girl" clip are men?

AST म्हणाले...

Coketown, it must be jelly, 'cause jam don't shake like that.

wv: allabias - CAIR?

Have to show this to The Blonde. She loves otters.

PS The little boy reminds me of Sherlock at the dog park, trying to keep up with the bigger dogs.

Very cool. Obviously a playful otter.

Coketown, don't you 'get' the innocence and wonder of a child? Or are you just that jaded and crusty?

It is the people of Philadelphia that forever wear the 'scrooge' moniker for booing Santa Claus.

Watching the video and commenting 'I don't get it' isn't any different.

james conrad म्हणाले...

cute, really cute

kimsch म्हणाले...

Adorable. The boy and the otter were obviously both having a lot of fun.

Fred4Pres म्हणाले...

The Otter is thinking, "If I can get through this glass, I can catch that little critter."

Fred4Pres म्हणाले...

Where is the "other" video you are referring to?

Rick Lee म्हणाले...

The effect of negative G-forces on mammary glands... I love science.

michaele म्हणाले...

Very fun and joyful...loved the moment when it became obvious it wasn't just a coincidence that the otter was moving in tandem with the little boy.

mariner म्हणाले...

I enjoyed that more than I thought I would.

Thanks, Althouse.

That's cute.

My wife had a tiger playing with her like that at our zoo last summer. It was not only chasing her back and forth along the fence, but would even crouch down low in the grass as if it were stalking her.

Full-sized tiger, but still obviously a young one.

In "That Hideous Strength," C.S. Lewis's strongest work, he referred to animals as our "friends" and "jesters." He was right about that, as about many other things.

On the other hand, I remember the kid camping in the Utah wilderness who was eaten by a bear: "Something's dragging me!"

MamaM म्हणाले...

when it became obvious it wasn't just a coincidence that the otter was moving in tandem

I loved that moment too. It was a dance of attunement, with each playing the other as the child called the shots and the otter adjusted its speed to stay just far enough ahead to keep the game going.

Anyone ever see a live-action Disney-ish 1960-70's movie (or made for TV flick) about A Boy and his Otter (or some other name?) A boy is almost forced to give up his pet otter, as it's accused of getting into playful trouble by neighbors...
I'd love to snag it for my daughter, but I've no idea of the title! {sheepish grin}
