One summer evening drunk to hell
I stood there nearly lifeless
An old man in the corner sang
Where the water lilies grow...

Play this for Meade...truly outstanding in his "field"

Pastourelle?

Unknown म्हणाले...

Kudos to Meade. Quite an accomplishment, sir.

And you, Madame, are really on a roll. (Said it before, but you really should do a book)

WV "writs" (no kidding)

sunsong म्हणाले...

Oh wow, beautiful pics, both of them! What lovely spots you have highlighted throughout the summer.

"Mood Indigo" must be on the Victrola at Meadhouse.

You guys are both Beautiful..

and the water lilies too.

Looks like a fine Sunday afternoon relaxation spot.

Pinky pond sky and pinky rocks and greeny greeny grass;
A green frog's orbs parting the pond are what's missing, alas.

Trooper York म्हणाले...

Hey no fair.

I tried to copy your photo and it has copyright thingy!

How can I properly mock the Meade man without lifting your photo's.

@ Ann:
Drudge has one of the least subtle but most iconic and (Lol)examples of Drudgedy for your collection; Obama literally moving in two directions at once. Classic.

Dammit, we're all two days early.

Lovely dahlias near Meade.

Pictures worth a thousand words.

Although I feel a need to point out that this picture isn't "literal", and obvious Photoshops usually bring on the LOL's.

We've gotten rather silly that way.

Roadside chairs.

@Trooper It has a creative commons license. You can use it.

Penny म्हणाले...

Sooooooooo...since it's only Friday, and we have two days to go before we can relax in the Water Garden...

Why would it ever be funny that our President seems to be going in two directions?

Isn't that what we voters expect of our President?

Once elected, he serves us ALL...regardless of party.

Penny म्हणाले...

Comments have not been "funny", nor forthcoming since 4:30pm central time.

"Obviously we need more clowns".

You can quote me on that, by the way. He just has the FEEL of a winner!

Pardon me for giggling up my sleeve...

Ha ha!

His name is "Matt"

That's rather "perfect" for ladies who count their importance by their shoes.

"You da mat, Matt!"

Nice. Good to see people who know how to enjoy the simple things in life.

Penny म्हणाले...

Yes! It's all quite... "magical".

Nice. Very nice indeed.

Couple questions:

it seems you have a couple of different digital cameras. Is there one you prefer?

Which program or application on your mac do you use to kind of keep track of your photos? I also have a mac and I just use iPhoto. I don't have Photo Shop. Mostly because I don't want to manipulate the images. I like the what you see is what you get image partly b/c I grew up using a 35mm. Do you have Photo Shop and if so is that where you organize your photos? iPhoto is fairly limited. And for video, wow, unless I just haven't learned, it's pretty bad.

Peter Hoh म्हणाले...

HT, fwiw, I like flickr for organizing my photos. I like how the sets and collections can work together to help me keep track of things. I rely on tags for some of the organization across sets.

I prefer to edit my photos using flickr's editing tools -- picnik, or whatever they call their editing function. I find that it's much easier to correct color balance in picnik than with iphoto.

HT म्हणाले...

Thanks Peter. Good to know.

Freeman Hunt म्हणाले...

I got a direct message from John Cusack the other night on Twitter. Even though it made no sense and even though his public tweets at the time were making no sense either and even though I generally have little to no interest in celebrities, the part of me that loves those movies of his went, "Neato!"

it is easy. put the page up full screen, hit ctl+alt+printscreen and open "paint" and clt-v and there it is. just crop it.

Paradise Garden perhaps?

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

@Freeman Like many of my photos here, they were taken at Olbrich Gardens, here in Madison.

Peter Hoh म्हणाले...

I always enjoy it when people assume that your Olbrich Gardens photos were taken in your yard.

IMO they do that because they want to believe they are gazing at marvelous Meade's masterpiece.

Peter Hoh म्हणाले...

Meade is a better gardener than I, but the gardenscapes at Olbrich require a budget that only a few private gardeners can put together.

Like this one.
