Chip, I read all of your food links and learn something new and amazing each time. Now I'm going to have to go get some real popcorn and pop it on the stove. I don't believe I've done that in 20 years. Thanks.
Special note to the very special tea partiers: your brain is just another muscle like your sign-waving hand: you have to exercise it. Really try and give it 110% and strain your brain just as hard as you can to understand my point before replying. Don't be afraid to take a juice break if you have to.
Good evening fellow republicans and lovers of the Bush Doctrine.
I write to you with a heavy heart.
I will be leaving the East Coast in two weeks. With mixed emotions I will be driving back from Boston to Madison, the same drive I took over 20 years ago.
Yes, I will miss all the hot brownies. God they are hot. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention the tons of hot contractors around the hood today. Painters, Gardners, HVAC hotties, Road Workers, etc. May I say thank you for your incredible muscles and enormous tats and service to the fags in the hood-what a pleasant "so long". I saw two coming out of the queens loft across the hallway and all I could think of was, can I just blow them for one last call?
The Irish and Italian and even the Burka wearing women that love the rare clumbers. Yes, I know your husband would kill me in a second but thanks for noticing how beautiful my clumbers are. "Handsome" is the word most used to describe them and I would agree.
But I am happy with my decision. My parents are getting old and I have been gone for a long time. I want to help them in their final years. I will be passing my time between Madison and Bangalore. In the winter months I plan to be in Madison as little as possible. I hate the cold.
Now, off to Newport for the weekend. Breakers here we come!
And a special hug to all my patriotic, republican and tough on terror friends at Althouse. The Lord is on our side and November will be here soon and the planets will once again align with freedom, family values and love of our country.
Praise The Lord, thank you so much, you are too kind.
Oh and Althouse I will be on the 9th Floor at the MadisonMark-for only 1900.00 a month! Call me doll, will do lunch real soon.
Or you can find me on Friday Nights in two weeks at The Pavillion at Devils Lake where the play old 50's music. Yes, I will be driving my parents there on Friday nights, from our cottage at Lake Delton, so they can dance!
Ruffles and flourishes...befitting the loveliness of the pictured lily along with the fanfare of the Gilded One who appears to be enacting his own version of Waiting for Godot with Clumbers.
Titus will not be coming tonight, but he will surely come tomorrow.
Lilies would be so much more beautiful and prolific if only they had reams of regulations to follow and mountains of taxes to pay. Why then, the Keynesian multiplier effect would mean lilies would expand exponentially!
If only Jesus had noted that even flowers should render unto to Caesar:
"Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; so yet I say to you that even Trumpet and Aurelian Hybrids must abide by the Food for Progress Act of 1985, section 416 of the Agricultural Act of 1949, as amended, section 210 of the Agricultural Act of 1956, and title II of the Agricultural Trade Development and Assistance Act, that no lilies grown pursuant to the authority contained herein shall be constituted by less than 3 centimeters of flower, or contain any additive other than for normal vitamin enrichment, preservative, and bleaching purposes. Lilies must also pass inspection for both quality and for evidence of diseases requiring quarantine."
Heard Janet Napolitano on Greta van Susteren last night. Some stuttering, hming, and hawing, but essentially: The Administration sets policy, and we will enforce laws as we choose, and how.
Great daylily...lots of substance and ruffle and not shy on the color scale. There was a time I only seemed to be drawn to the pastels. Then, one summer, I was suddenly converted to strong golds and reds and,(yikes for me) even orange. Now I can see the vibrancy of my selections from far away.
Any of you Madison people buy this cheese? You all are lucky; you don't have to pay the shipping.
My Dad used to order that cheese when I was a teenager. He still orders it every now and then. Makes the most delicious grilled cheese sandwiches you'll ever eat. Even better if you make them on one of those panini grills.

The best popcorn in the galaxy.

On a bed of lilies (seems to be the bookends of the day)?
I think I can interest The Blonde in that.
Lilies are taking over. It is unfair to all the other flowers. If lilies had a sweet fragrance, there would be no stopping them.
Celebrated the bigger kid's 18th birthday today. Wow. It seems like only yesterday . . . .
Now that I am poor, I'm drinking my way through the remains of my wine cellar, as I can't afford to buy anymore.
Tonight, it's Chateau Lagrange, St Julien, 2005. Highly recommended, though I'm sure it will be even better in a few years.
And as I'm crying poor again, I urge you to check out and perhaps order a print of a drawing from my sketchbook. As the old Mad Magazine used to say, suitable for framing or wrapping fish!
Again, so very beautiful. Thank you.

"... we'll stay the night."
But you haven't been invited to spend the night at my house?
We barely know each other...
Was it something I said? Was it my smile?
Perhaps my pheroGnomes?
Check out these men in shorts.

* Here's a twitter exchange showing the intellectual level of the tea partiers (note: vulgar language, but what do you expect?)
* If you oppose the NAACP playing the race card, the teaparties are just getting in your way.

See, my self-linking is so much more fun than lonewacko's self-linking! And does lonewacko offer beautiful, archival prints? I don't think so!

"Who's this lily?"
Surely Althouse and Meade would know?
This IS their garden after all.
And it suits you....perfectly.
Right?
Santarpios Pizza I will miss you greatly. I love getting to go and arriving in your kitchen.
Madison, can you offer me the same?
I'm all over the China UFO stuff

Now, where have I heard that before?
lol @ MamaM.
Pretty daylily, but not one I'd choose. I've been wanting to visit some daylily farms...maybe Althouse could do that for me vicariously...
