So why was this noble animal lover arrested? Maybe those were his fan mascots for sports teams renamed after their old names dissing native americans had beeen dropped.

He isn't an animal lover. Smugglers are net animal killers. He is part of a group that kills 3-4 animals for every one they succeed in getting smuggled in and getting a payout for.
There should be a law that caught smugglers get caned on the spot. Bloodily caned. In front of all the other people passing through customs.
At least that fraternity is definitely going to accept him now.
C-4...I was defending this man as a good advocate would. But if you think that any person who endanger snakes and geckos should be dealt with harshly, then what is so wrong with my opposing the actual slaughter of the men, women and children in Israel?

When I see stories like this I always wonder which is true: 1) The smugglers are idiots and do this with almost no chance of success or 2) what we see on the news is the tip of the iceberg, and Holland is full of geckos and pythons.

I still think this guy is an innocent football fan. For example the TCU team is undefeated this year and has never used a native American name, but calls its team after a Texas lizard called a Horned Frog.
