You people dont understand whats going here.

Firing CEO's is one of the weapons in Obamas arsenal to ultimately "get the money out of politics."

Once the government have control over businesses, politicians wont need to fund raise anymore.

They will be writing the checks.

See how smart Obama is?

Despite his loss in the 2008 election, the 73-year-old Mr. McCain maintains the fiery passion that helped nearly 60 million Americans cast ballots for him.

The 60 million were considerably helped along by the alternative.

``The next time you cross the aisle to work with Democrats, stay there,'' might be the current sentiment on McCain.

Not sure that McCain is correct.

Future candidates are likely to work in the interests of the US - and consequently won't have millions of dollars in dodgy internet contributions from overseas as Obama did.

Nice going, Popeye. You were instrumental in creating this mess via McCain Feingold.

That 'aisle crossing' sure helped you, didn't it?

Now, now children, let us repeat the new mantra- Obama has only been in office X amount of days. He has not had time to be partisan. what with trying to nationalize everything, appearing on talk shows, and keeping Joe Biden and Hilary Clinton from making any major gaffes. I mean there are only so many hours in a day. Then he has to contend with moronic leadership of his own party- Harry Reid, Barney Frank, and Chris Dodd. Of course he has not received permission to be partisan from the real power and the real president- Nancy Pelosi. If Baby Barak steps out of line he will get spanked by her.

As the treacherous, preening egotist, and incoherent dimbulb Senator meanders off into the sunset. Telling anyone who will listen - hey, I'm the famous POW, I suffered. Genuflect to me and my wishes!

Romney, Romney! We missed ye! Pity you couldn't buy an authentic personality to go with your brains..

What choice did he have? As this comment thread shows, the true believers who backed W. were not about to shell out for McCain. And the moderates who admired the circa 2000 McCain were appalled by his brownnosing the right-wing in 2008. A consensus Republican candidate will sop up the bucks.

Further, McCain likely expected to receive the benefit from PAC issue ads, funded and aired without his involvement. The question is why Obama was never swiftboated to the extent that Kerry was.

Ah...unintended consequences.

Thanks McCain/Feingold.

From The Devil's Dictionary:

Swiftboat, v., To tell vicious truths about another person.

To answer your question, Former Law Student, Kerry brought his "swiftboating" upon himself by being a hypocrite. He tried to claim the status of "war hero" while having built a career after attempting to falsely smear his fellow Vietnam veterans. It's no wonder so many of them were disgusted and came out against him.

Obama, on the other hand, didn't manage to make so many enemies, and the ones he did make kept their mouths shut. Combine this with the mainstream media working as the propaganda arm of the Democrat party and Obama was unlikely to lose.

As for the "nobody will ever accept public financing again," well, DUH! I wrote that back on November 5th, and nothing has changed regarding that since.

Too bad he didn't inauthentically convert to Evangelical Christianity.

Fake it till you make it.
