My wife was sick all weekend and I made her chicken soup. She appreciated it, so it wasn't a bad weekend.

I'm as restless as a willow in a windstorm, I'm as jumpy as puppet on a string
I'd say that I had spring fever, but I know it isn't spring
I am starry eyed and vaguely discontented, like a nightingale without a song to sing
O why should I have spring fever, when it isn't even spring

I keep wishing I were someone else, walking down a strange new street
And hearing words that I've never heard from a girl I've yet to meet
I'm as busy as spider spinning daydreams, spinning spinning daydreams
I'm as giddy as a baby on a swing

I haven't seen a crocus or a rosebud, or a robin on the wing
But I feel so gay in a melancholy way, that it might as well be spring
It might as well be spring.

And good morning to you, dear Professor from the north country. I hope you slept well.

For some reason, your photo reminds me of ladies night at a spring break nightclub.

Oh, and good morning, too.

I finally saw some snow this winter. We went to Omaha over the weekend, and got some snow on our way there, and came back to the probably 3rd snowfall of the season in Kansas City. Funny, it was also probably the last, but most significant accumulation (i.e. more than just a sad dusting) *sigh*

We may have a drought...

Hey, the gross meat ad is back on blogger!

Did someone give you those flowers? They are very pretty.

I hope everyone enjoys this first week of March. Spring is coming!

And a very good morning to you. I spent the weekend scouting sites for my planned business. Other than that it was OK. Snowy and cold in the United Socialist Soviet Republic of Chicago.

Paddy O म्हणाले...

Indeed I did.

Saturday we walked around Pasadena, had coffee and pastries at Euro Pane spent the evening at home, used our new George Foreman Grilleration for the first time, watched Death Defying Acts.

Sunday we wandered over to the Huntington Library and Gardens, became members there and walked around the gardens, enjoying the great 83 degree sunny weather.

Came home, made some pizza, watched Encounters at the End of the World.

Very lovely all around.

Seems you had quite the lovely weekend as well. Your photo-chronicling was part of my inspiration to get out and about to enjoy my fair city.

Dow 6,937.80 -125.13. I don't think that it's going to get any better this morning.

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

Hi, Meade. I love the super-compressed poetry, but how much water do you think you can add to that soup?

Heh, I like my steak rare, so those ads put me in the mood for meat.

gee!-

almost a whole new set of commenters-

a lot more calm, peaceful and sedate than the comments from the hat blog-

I think a commenter on the hat post got me mixed up with another george-

should I be known as george the stalker?-

if you ever have any problems with my comments, and you wish me to stop, I will gladly cease and desist-

have a good week, ann-

Chicken soup is essentially a conveyor of garlic. Keep adding more garlic and water... conceivably, one could go on spilling the joy and health without end.

It is a sunny, cold and clear morning where I live. A beautiful day! Not far from here, in another part of the community, fourteen inches of lake effect snow have fallen since just before dawn.

It is strange to hear local radio reporting on the big snowfall when none has fallen in my neighborhood.

Cross country skiing on trails through the woods is my substitute for sledding with children as my children are now in their 20s and 30s and sledding with Dad is not a priority.

My skiing companion usually buys me a beer after we've finished, good incentive to go out again.

GE: $7.75

Down about 80% in 18 months.

Oh, Prof Althouse.
I have found the perfect website for you.
It is Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle website, Goop.

She tells us how to Make, Go, Get, Do, Be, and See. So we can be like her, I suppose. She discusses her DeTox program (which she refused to share with poor Oprah).

It's a beautiful morning. A little bit of sun along with some flurries.

A weekend without broadband was difficult - mostly on the wife. I took the time to read. That was nice.

Back to work and Sprint drops off some phones to play with. Toys are good.

Happy Monday!

Ernesto Ariel Suárez म्हणाले...

Oooooh, Al, what devices are you getting to play with today??

Joan म्हणाले...

Something about the tone around here lately... a song popped into my head: so this is love...

My weekend was productive. I took my biology mid-term, did a little housecleaning. Went to see Taken with my husband, which was even more implausible than 24 but more enjoyable for the notable lack of histrionics.

I did make the mistake last night of watching The Other Boleyn Girl, which was a horrible hit-piece on Anne Boleyn. That's one I wish I could un-see.

And Battlestar Galactica was amazing.

MadisonMan म्हणाले...

Joan, I keep hearing Chuck E's in Love, for the same reason.

ElcubanitoKC,

Probably old stuff for a lot of people but for us - this is new.

-Samsung Ace
-Palm Treo 800w
-HTC Touch Pro
-Blackberry Curve

I like the design of the HTC but I can't get it to talk to our Exchange server. OTOH I'm not a fan of the Samsung design but I had it talking to Exchange in under a minute. Very strange since they are both Windows Mobile 6 devices.

I guess I have to read the manuals :(

Ernesto Ariel Suárez म्हणाले...

Of all those, HTC is my least favorite. They show promise, but there is still a lot of room for improvement there.
