Said Trump, about Kimberly Guilfoyle, who was engaged to Don Jr. from 2020 to 2024.
Trump's cold distancing is quoted in "'Honey Please’: The Steep Rise and Sudden Fall of Kimberly Guilfoyle. President Trump cut her loose after damaging news reports about her tenure as ambassador to Greece. Once a prominent Trump insider, she suggested she will now fight to defend her reputation" (NYT).
Ms. Guilfoyle was a Trump insider with a prominent role in the family and its political operation. The president’s swiftness in firing her showed his willingness to cut off anyone who becomes a liability and an embarrassment. But it also left her with little reason to remain loyal to the president and his family at a time when Mr. Trump’s political authority is ebbing....
Her stint in Greece is over. It served its purpose:
In December 2024 [Don Jr.] and the socialite and model, Bettina Anderson, were seen holding hands as they left a Palm Beach restaurant. The next day, President-elect Trump announced that Ms. Guilfoyle was his pick to be ambassador to Greece. The timing suggested the president wanted her out of the country at an awkward time for Don Jr., who married Ms. Anderson this year. Ms. Guilfoyle’s allies said that was not the case, although Greeks at the time wondered if they were simply getting the woman who had been jilted by the president’s son.
In Athens, Ms. Guilfoyle became a sensation as soon as she arrived, on the private jet of a multimillionaire Greek American businessman. She wore a partly sheer black evening dress to a Thanksgiving week dinner, joked with the Greek president when she presented her credentials that she was working on finding a new husband and stayed out until the small hours of the morning at Athens nightclubs....
Great. All the Trump haters will want to talk with her now, and why wouldn't she tell all the worst of what she knows? She's free and motivated. But Democrats must take care. She knows all about Newsom too. It will only be fun for us distanced onlookers.

…but re: the Newsom affair, for Democrats being an embarrassment sends you to the top of the political ticket…
The New Yorker subsequently corroborated reports that Guilfoyle had been forced to resign rather than leaving by choice. After Guilfoyle left Fox News, the network agreed to an out-of-court settlement with an assistant who had accused Guilfoyle of sexual harassment. Terms were not disclosed. The New Yorker reported that the settlement was at least $4 million. Guilfoyle's former assistant alleged that Guilfoyle frequently displayed herself naked, showed photographs of the genitalia of men she had sex with, and required her to sleep over at Guilfoyle's apartment. The New Yorker independently verified several of the assistant's allegations. Guilfoyle denied any wrongdoing=
Pretty chilly goodbye from Big Orange but Kimberly seems chill with it.
Back when she was on The Five and Bob Beckel was the Democrat foil she was pretty entertaining. But then that was when each show on FNC set their own agenda and a lot more actual news was reported. Now every hour runs the same few segments covering the same people and events as every other show from 6 am to Gutfeld! at 10 pm. Fox has banned originality and fun for the most part as Paul Ryan and Susan Scott tighten their grip and ruin it completely.
…the recent origins of tragic characters climbing to the top of the ticket? Does it go farther back than Hillary? …and with her I made the assumption there was some deal with the devil made, or at least a stand by your man tit for tat…
The picture of her and Newsom from back in the day is always such a shock. One free nip and tuck ladies, after that, it just becomes grotesque.
Bettina must have a great plastic surgeon.
Engaged/fiancé/fiancée are now used to refer to not only an actual engagement leading to marriage, but also long-term cohabitation or other "situationship".
Oh Bettina is only 39. Well Vanessa Trump has a better plastic surgeon than Guilfoyle. Ivanka should also be very careful about what she does next.
Guilfoyle was confused by the advertisements and accidentally went to a plaster surgeon.
I think your analysis is quite wrong, Althouse. The quicker the Democrats can bury Newsom the better chance they have beating JD Vance in '28.
Better to have her outside pissing in than inside pissing on.
"The president’s swiftness in firing her showed his willingness to cut off anyone who becomes a liability and an embarrassment."
They say this like it's a bad thing. Also, II'm sure the press are positively christlike in their forgiveness lol.
There is a time window when the best plastic surgery can bring about the "they look great, if they had any work done, it's hard to tell" result. Shakira, Ivanka? Gwen Stefani has crossed over. Subtlety wasn't a goal for Guilfoyle.
"She knows all about Newsom too. It will only be fun for us distanced onlookers."
Questions that will never be asked, unless Spencer Pratt gets involved.
Of course theres thr other part of the story thar john konrad noted
Well, as I said, Good Riddance. I think Trump has thrown the media some easy chum to work out on for midterms, but I don't think it's going to amount to very much. She might have been a pretty good flamboyant ambassador at a time when one was called for, but a problem needs solving, not excuses. When's the last time you heard any news about Kristi?
engaged but not married - is not family.
Aggie, I find it interesting that both Kim and Kristi have the same affection for thickly applied makeup.
@ narciso re: 7:31AM
Interesting. Thx.

It's currently pinned.
She will be offered a lot more than 100,000 by the left to spill the beans.
Or create some beans.
Much ado about nothing, really. How big a deal is Greece to the US? Besides the olive oil.
As spelled out above its more than about olivd oil its about shipping about the choke point to the med thd entry path for the syrian invasion
Greece did feature gay grooming for the modern family and they do have an Isle of Lesbos where men and women frolic, collecting seashells by the seashore.
Kimberly Guilfoyle has now reached the stage where Trump pretends he doesn’t really know who she is. How awful do you have to be to actually get fired in the Trump administration?
Every American ambassador serves at the pleasure of the President, who can fire any one of them at any time. In fact when a new president takes office, or an ambassador has served two years at post, it is customary for the sitting ambassador to tender a pro forma resignation. The president can accept or reject those resignations as s/he wishes. I served with one ambassador who was quite open about his desire to serve a third year at post and was very disappointed when his letter of resignation was accepted.
Why is there literally no discussion of locking her up? She committed a serious fucking crime and you all are acting like it was an embarrassing faux pas. Classic MAGA. Circle the wagons for your own scummy grifters.
I dont much care for kimberly but noem was treated horribly considering the thankless job she had now mayorkas was never fired
NYT? Puhleeeeeeeze.
What crime did she commit - Soviet DD? Perhaps she should go to the gulag.
all while Walz and Flanigan skate.
Greek military is noted for never leaving their brothers behind.
Soviet DD Demands she be locked up before the trial of the century!
That was interesting, narciso. The plot thickens…
Pay to play - it's a classic like the Odyssey. And Greece was a safe destination for this tramp. I'm sure the Greeks were on to her a milli-second after she arrived and she got nothing but a few (million) dollars. Nothing in today's world. Probably from the CIA petty cash fund. "Two lattes and a million to Greece for the Guilfoyle Distancing Fund. Put it in the usual place, the 3rd olive oil jar from the left at Mycenae." Meanwhile, the Greeks struggled among themselves as to when to break the story and who got to do it.
Of course we should know who is this deters character
The Fourth Estate at its finest. The WSJ uncovered serious misconduct, backed its reporting with evidence, and held a powerful public official accountable. The result was more than headlines, it was meaningful consequences.
Tip of the hat — to the WSJ team for reminding us why a free, independent, and fearless press is indispensable to our democracy.
Soviet DD Demands she be locked up before the trial of the century!
Nope. I want to see her prosecuted. We have basically all of the evidence to know she solicited a bribe. Send the DOJ into the courtroom to present the evidence and lock her up?
Tell me why that is crazy? You guys fight so hard for the scummiest slimeballs. Gilfoyle and Ken Paxton are 100% as sleezy and corrupt as Newsome and Hunter Biden, but Peachy loves a MAGA fraud. MAGA fraud is awesome. As long as no Somalis commit the fraud MAGA loves it!
Defending Gilfoyle is a new low. Not surprising, but definitely a new low.
What crime did she commit - Soviet DD?
Is this a joke? How are you that retarded? Go google it or ask AI whether public officials can solicit bribe. My God MAGA is dumb.
I love Athens. If President Trump is looking for a replacement, I could be persuaded to move into Jefferson House, even though its architecture is characterized as “[b]lends traditional Greek design elements with a Palm Beach, Florida aesthetic.” The residence comes with a nice pool that my grandkids would enjoy.
"We have basically all of the evidence to know she solicited a bribe." Shouldn't "know" be "suspect"? There are allegedly tapes, but there's a tape of an Ohio mental hospital confirming Talarico's stay there, and yet many think that one's fake, or mistaken, or something. Especially with advances in AI, it's certainly conceivable that the evidence against Guilfoyle is faked.
As for "Send the DOJ into the courtroom to present the evidence and lock her up", D.D.D. (his typical report card?) skips right over the part about allowing the defense to present their case impugning the evidence, and - most important - having the jury vote on the charges. D.D.D. seems to like kangaroo courts. Is he writing from Belarus or somewhere equally alien, or did develop his unAmerican attitudes right here in the US, perhaps at an Ivy?
narciso:
When you brought up John Konrad (7:31am), would it have killed you to mention that I had already quoted him at length and explained his relevance in 4-5 comments in the previous Guilfoyle thread?
I agree — narciso should try to be more mindful of dr weevil’s rightful place in the footnotes of history. Nothing says “me, me, me” quite like demanding a citation in someone else’s conversation.
Obviously she get to present a defense. LOL. Years after the "lock her up chant" now you no longer understand that when someone says "throw them in jail" we obviously mean afford full due process and throw them in jail if the government proves its case. That's what we meant about Hilary, wasn't it? Or were you a retard that thought Hilary should go to jail without a trial?
But Trump won't even prosecute Guilfoyle and you know that. It's the Trump Crime Syndicate and Gilfoyle knows where the bodies are buried. (Like Ghislaine Maxwell she will get very special treatment.)
18 U.S. Code § 201

(B)being influenced to commit or aid in committing, or to collude in, or allow, any fraud, or make opportunity for the commission of any fraud, on the United States; or

She asked for $100,000, and, in exchange, “I’m going to make you a lot of f—ing money.” There is an audio recording. Derp.
Trump pushed his DOJ to prosecute the kayak guy but not a pretty open and shut bribery case.
And, MAGA, pathetic MAGA, getting robbed blind and carrying the water for their robbers. Pathetic fucking cucks all of you.
There are allegedly tapes, but there's a tape of an Ohio mental hospital confirming Talarico's stay there
No there wasn't and only gullible retards believed that story.
How many Scaramucci's did Kimberly Guilfoyle last? At this point, her résumé needs a logarithmic scale.
NYT....
What "prominent role" did she hold as an "insider" in the political operation? He gave her a plum appointment as ambassador. Those are often just gift positions and you have no real role at all in anything.
And why is his "swiftness of his firing her" a bad thing? Based on the stories, she did some shady stuff. I wonder what the NYT would say about Trump if he was "slow in firing her"...
Now when it probably turns out to be fake likd msny lefty tantrums will they apologize rhetorical
D.D.D. just can't stop lying. I do not believe he believes in due process, and there was in fact a plausible-sounding tape of someone claiming to be an employee of the Ohio mental hospital confirming Talarico's stay. It appears that it was quite likely fake, since there is some evidence that Talarico was in Texas when he was claimed to be in Ohio. Was the tape a set-up by pro-Talarico people to make the other side look bad? I don't know, but neither does D.D.D.
As for IEE, he needs to be more mindful of his own tiny place in history as an annoying rock in the shoe of Althouse blog, still too arrogant and yes, too needy, to start his own damned blog.
One reason I mentioned my previous comments quoting Konrad at length was to help people like AlbertAnonymous, still unaware that some (Konrad) think Guilfoyle was doing a great job helping the US military by getting Greece on-side.
Less than a month from midterms, so the payscale is drifting upward for the chattering class. Still, I think we're accustomed to a better class of turning purple than we're seeing here.
"How big a deal is Greece to the US?"
It wasn't all that long ago that the Greek debt "crisis" was supposed to crash the world's economy.
Anyone who read my quotations from Konrad on the last Guilfoyle thread knows that Greece has the largest merchant fleet in the world. Convincing them to limit the number of their ships joining the Russian or Iranians "shadow fleets" is in fact very important.
A very Trumpy story…. She fits right in with this very troubled and compromised lot. Trump fleeced a cool billion off a crypto scam half-funded by UAE royals and handed $6 billion in defense contracts to companies his son's have business interests in. Guilfoyle only scratches the surface of Trump administration corruption.
And IEE continues to pretend that Guilfoyle never did any good things to go with the bad things she's possibly guilty of. Did he read the quotations from Konrad and decide to suppress any knowledge of them, because they look Guilfoyle and Trump look gad, and he's a propagandist paid to trash the Trump administration? Looks like it!
dr weevil claims: “𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱𝘴 𝘫𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘙𝘶𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘰𝘳 𝘐𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘴 "𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘸 𝘧𝘭𝘦𝘦𝘵𝘴" 𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵.”
Greece does have the world’s largest merchant fleet by carrying capacity. However, there is no evidence (in news coverage, official statements, or other sources) that Kimberly Guilfoyle, as U.S. Ambassador to Greece, convinced Greek shipowners or the government to restrict vessels from joining the Russian or Iranian shadow fleets. Greek-owned tankers have in fact been major participants in Russia’s shadow fleet. Guilfoyle’s public work as ambassador centered on other priorities such as promoting U.S. LNG exports.
Once again — dr weevil is confusing showing up for diplomacy with delivering results, a distinction that seems to have escaped his original claim.
And IEE lies again. I quoted John Konrad, who has met and worked with Guilfoyle, as saying she was doing great things, and that he'd have to save the details for his memoirs. In other words, she was doing great things that did not, and could not, show up in news coverage or even official statements. As for "other sources", he is one. As usual, IEE pretends not to see any evidence contradicting him, because he is, to repeat, a paid propagandist.
dr weevil relies on information that cannot be disclosed and accomplishments that cannot be independently verified. Without accessible evidence or corroborating sources, these assertions remain unsubstantiated and should not be treated as confirmed facts.

Lying IEE lies again. I didn't say that Konrad's statements are "confirmed facts". I do say that anyone who reads everything Konrad posts on Twitter, and everything IEE smears here, as I do, knows that Konrad is at least two orders of magnitude more believable on things he knows about (ships, warfare, commerce) than IEE is on any subject whatsoever.
Nothing the Times ever puts out is a confirmed fact the trail is long on that score
“𝘛𝘸𝘰 𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦” is strikingly precise for a subjective judgment. Expertise may merit attention, but it does not establish truth. Provide independently verifiable evidence, reproducible methods, reliable records, or corroboration that distinguishes the claim from alternatives. An expert’s confidence shows only how strongly they believe it, not whether it is accurate. Address objections with evidence; don’t disparage skeptics or declare the matter settled. Confidence is not corroboration, and authority is not proof.
Calling an order-of-magnitude estimate "strikingly precise" is an open confession of astonishing, abysmal, irremediable ignorance! An order of magnitude is the exact opposite of precise. If I had written that I find Konrad 114 times more believable than IEE, or 87 times more believable than IEE, that would have been "strikingly precise", but I didn't write that. Two orders of magnitude is somewhere in the general ballpark of 100 times, but could easily be quite a bit less or more than 100, as in the examples I give here. How can IEE say such stupid things? Same answer as "How do I get to Carnegie Hall?": practice, practice, practice.
An honest disputant would now slink away in shame and never show himself on this site again, at least under the same name, after such a humiliating confession of ignorance. Will IEE?
Again, Konrad is not just showing "an expert's confidence": he knows Guilfoyle and has worked on these matters with her in D.C. A fact IEE still refuses to admit, while, as usual, demanding masses of superfluous evidence from others, while providing very little - and that usually plagiarized - himself, like the paid propagandist he is.
Order of magnitude is close enough for horseshoes, hand grenades and H-Bombs, Dr. Weeble
Your technical correction is fair. Your confidence in your own intellectual superiority is duly noted, too.
But the original question remains remarkably untouched by the lecture: What, specifically, did Guilfoyle accomplish to restrict Russian or Iranian shadow-fleet activity, and what evidence supports it?
Konrad’s expertise and firsthand access may make his account worth taking seriously. They don’t establish the details of a particular claim. If those details must remain confidential, that may explain why they cannot be verified; it does not transform an unverified assertion into an established fact.
You’ve devoted considerably more effort to explaining why I’m unqualified to question the claim than to substantiating the claim itself. That’s a curious substitute for evidence and a rather elaborate detour from the question originally asked.
"“𝘛𝘸𝘰 𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦” is strikingly precise for a subjective judgment."
The man in the room. lol
Drago was right. You were serving coffee in that room.
Will this disgusting clown ever stop lying? Having confidence in one's own intellectual superiority to IEE is not a sign of arrogance. Nine-tenths of commenters on this site are intellectually superior to him. And it's not a "technical correction": it is, as already stated, a demonstration of IEE's abysmal ignorance. Any high-school graduate should know better.
The rest of this comment is the usual filthy sophistical crap that needs no reply, because it's stupid and dishonest, and has already been refuted.
Nine-tenths of the commenters may be intellectually superior to me, as you confidently writer. Yet somehow, after all those declarations of superiority, the original question remains unanswered. One begins to suspect that the insults are doing work the evidence cannot.
I went to college with a guy who thought he could win every argument by demanding that his opponent "define his terms" over and over, making him define the definition and the definition of the definition until everyone concluded he was an asshole and refused to "argue" with him.
IEE thinks we're too stupid to notice that he uses a very similar method. As usual, the original question has in fact been answered, but IEE doesn't like the answer, or is being paid to pretend not to like the answer. Whatever.
"Nine-tenths of the commenters may be intellectually superior to me,"
You flatter yourself.
Dr Weevil,
> The rest of this comment is the usual filthy
> sophistical crap that needs no reply
Actually that applies to all of his output, not just the rest of it.
So why do you engage at all? Let me repeat my completely immodest proposal and plea that we apply the Cedarford Rule to IEE, rjw, he who is not to be named during his sporadic reappearances, and other disruptors.
For those who don't remember, it goes like this: one person, and one only, should respond to the provocateurs' first comment on a post, in a generically dismissive way, just so that lurkers or future web searchers don't think silence from the rest of us means agreement. AND THEN IGNORE THEM! That would be overwhelmingly better than the back and forth pissing contests with people whose aim is to disrupt (and don't care how stupid they appear while doing so, or how often they contradict themselves, or anything at all.)
I have this theory that Rich is paid not by the number of his posts, but by the number of responses he elicits.
The college anecdote is entertaining, but it doesn’t address my point. I’m not asking you to define terms or prove that Konrad is credible in general. I’m asking for documentation of this specific claim beyond a Twitter reference.
Konrad may well have firsthand knowledge, and his account may ultimately prove accurate. But if the supporting details aren’t available, the claim remains unverified—not disproved, simply unverified. Promising to disclose those details in a future memoir doesn’t change that.
You keep treating a request for evidence as evidence of bad faith. It isn’t. It’s the ordinary distinction between accepting someone’s assertion and establishing that it’s true. If you have independent documentation, I’m happy to consider it. Otherwise, I think we’ve reached the limits of what this exchange can establish.
It will be interesting to see how much she can Extort from Trump in exchange for silence, to the extent that Trump has any more secrets. What more could there be? Trump can always threaten to withhold a Pardon in the event the Feds charge her with anything.
