I've been scarce since a big storm Saturday afternoon that left many thousands here un the heat and dark. Some still suffer.
We were lucky to get power back Sunday night. but our internet was only restored about two hours ago.

As I’ve written many times here recently EVERY single GAO report in my memory back to the ’80s estimated between 25% and 50% of ALL ENTITLEMENT disbursements were mishandled due to the famous 3-headed monster no one ever hunted down until DOGE: “waste, fraud and abuse.” Every serious politician who ever commented on entitlement spending parroted those words.
Assuming that the lowest estimate is likely, given all the evidence of rampant fraud it probably a lowball figure, then at least $1 trillion is “mis-distributed” by the States (who manage Medicaid) and Feds (who manage Medicare and related programs). We spend over $4 trillion on transfer payments, more than defense or any other budget item.
