What’s Crushing U.S. Farmers in 2025? Why are they whining now?
1. No Buyers for Crops
China, historically the biggest buyer of U.S. soybeans, has placed zero orders this season.
That’s a gut punch—25% of U.S. soybeans usually go to China. Now? Nada.
2. Commodity Prices in the Basement
Soybeans dropped to ~$10/bushel, below the $11.03 it costs to grow them.
Corn and wheat prices also tanked, leaving farmers selling at a loss.
3. Skyrocketing Input Costs
Fertilizer, fuel, seed, and machinery prices are up across the board.
Labor costs are brutal too—immigration raids have slashed the farm workforce by 400,000 jobs.
4. Weather Wipeouts
Floods in April killed crops and caused $78M in damage.
Delayed planting and nutrient loss from heavy rains wrecked yields.
5. Debt and Bankruptcies
Farm debt is projected to hit $561.8 billion this year.
Chapter 12 bankruptcies nearly doubled in Q1. Some regions are seeing one-third of farms on the brink3.
🧠 Farmer Sentiment: “Hanging On”
Even with record corn yields, farmers say they’re staring at literal piles of unsold crops. One farmer in Arkansas said, “There’s no optimism, no way to look at a profit”3. Another in Kentucky is facing $750K in losses.

🏛️ What’s Being Done?
Farmers are pleading for federal emergency aid. (SOCIALISM?)
Some are restructuring, downsizing, or turning to direct-to-consumer sales.
But many say without a trade resolution or serious help, they’re planting crops they know will lose money. Didnt this happen when trump came in before and we had to bail them out then?

You think if they didnt hire a knucklehead who has no idea of how to govern a country we wouldnt have to bail out frmers again? What Tariffs Are Doing to U.S. Farmers in 2025
1. China’s Retaliation
Trump imposed sweeping tariffs—including a 145% tariff on Chinese imports.
China hit back with a 125% tariff on U.S. farm goods.
Result? China stopped buying U.S. soybeans entirely this season—first time in 20 years.
2. Export Collapse
U.S. agricultural exports dropped 15% this year.
Soybeans, corn, and wheat are sitting unsold in silos while Brazil and Argentina scoop up China’s business.
3. Input Costs Skyrocketing
Tariffs on steel, machinery, and fertilizers raised costs:
Fertilizer: +$100/ton
Tractors & parts: way up due to steel tariffs
Farmers can’t afford to upgrade gear or repair aging equipment.
4. Trade War Uncertainty
Farmers say they’re planting crops with no buyers and no price guarantees.
One Iowa farmer said: “Our yields, crops and weather are pretty good—but our markets are on a low”.
Tariffs were meant to protect domestic producers, but they’ve triggered a global game of economic dodgeball. Farmers are stuck in the middle—higher costs, fewer buyers, and no clear end in sight. Even those loyal to Trump are pleading for emergency aid just to survive the year. All this slides under the table as trump does"look over here" at invading states with military and guards, talks junk about cultural issues to take away from the inner workings of governing a country. This guy is too senille and too old for this position, send him packing hes grifted enough and crashed everything,, in a short 7 months,Prices arent down, debt is expanding, wars are worse since he is been in office ,he doidnt solve anything except how to grift most $$$ he can. WAKE UP WAKE UP.. BEAUCOUP DINKY DAU 45/47 pretty obvious..to at least 1/2 the country, all the sidebars are just "look over heres"

https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/exports

"US exports of goods and services rose by $0.8 billion to $280.5 billion in July 2025, the highest in three months despite ongoing trade policy uncertainty. Goods exports increased by $0.2 billion, led by stronger sales of capital goods such as computer accessories and civilian aircraft, as well as trucks, buses, and special-purpose vehicles. These gains were partly offset by declines in exports of industrial supplies and materials, and other goods. Meanwhile, services exports climbed by $0.6 billion, supported by higher receipts from transport, charges for the use of intellectual property, and government goods and services."

Kakistocracy ने कहा…

The West is a civilizational construct describing a web of commonalities across a group of nations. There has been the rise of the West for over 500 years if the advent of the era of long distance overseas trade is the marker. This definition rests on the economics of trade-expanding political economic power as the engine of precedence and prominence. This global expanding power was later supercharged by the rise of industrial capitalism and mass production and distribution of goods.

Since 1989, the countries of the West have all been democratically free and the 40 nations comprising the advanced economy nexus span Europe, the Americas, and the Far East. These countries are politically democratic capitalist economies that are almost all secular and pluralistic to some degree. Their population totals about 20 percent of humanity. That means there is also a lot of "other" out there organized into different nations with other civilizational-style norms and practices. How does one say "decline" when the group has never been overall predominant to begin with?

Economic operation is not civilizational specific but rather has universal applicability wherever and however nations decide to organize their economies. Therefore quasi-democratic India and single-party state capitalist China both use capital, markets, trade, and investment to advance their development. They are gaining relative influence.

What we see is the American Nationalists are pulling back from the leadership of the globe spanning advanced democratic nexus. Culture seems to be the wedge that is separating the parochial American Nationalists (Heartlanders all) from the leadership of the cosmopolitan democratic alliance.

The American Heartlanders are not cosmopolitan at all and reject its precepts and values rather completely. The American Heartlanders see economic strength coming from national autarky rather than from the comparative advantage of an international trading system.

Buwaya is referring to a report in July 2025.

What he failed to include from his link:
US Exports Fall to 5-Month Low in August 2025
/Exports of goods and services from the United States decreased 0.5% to $277.3 billion in June 2025, the lowest in five months. Goods exports decreased $1.2 billion to $179.1 billion, due to lower sales of finished metal shapes (down $4.6 billion), nonmonetary gold (down $2.0 billion), and computer accessories (down $1.2 billion). On the other hand, exports rose for excavating machinery (up $1.6 billion), civilian aircraft (up $0.8 billion) and pharmaceutical preparations (up $1.6 billion). Exports of services decreased $0.2 billion to $98.2 billion, including travel (down $0.2 billion)./

Also worth mentioning that thousands of US farmers are getting killed and losing a ton of market share with soy beans and corn.

Trump counted on the farmers for votes but they are losing real money because of the tariffs. Brazil in particular is eating their lunch.

Trump bailed out agriculture to the tune of 28bn during his previous term as a result of his trade policies.

Expect more of the same...

Another story that has been pushed to the back burner by the Kirk (z''l) assassination: the Naval Academy lockdown and shooting on Thursday.

Apparently an expelled midshipman SWATted the Academy with a threat describing someone dressed as a cop going door to door in Bancroft Hall, the gigantic dorm for all 4,000-some midshipmen.

The Academy put out a lockdown order and the information about a police impersonator going door to door in Bancroft Hall.

The real police simultaneously reacted....by going door to door in Bancroft Hall.

A midshipman, seeing someone matching the description of the threat, reacted by attacking a real cop with his parade rifle - an inert but still deadly 10-pound wood and steel club. The real cop defended himself by shooting the mid with his real gun. Both cop and mid survived.

I hope neither one is in any trouble. This Administration seems like it backs up its cops, and "big wood club = lethal threat" is standard law enforcement doctrine and self-defense law. The Admin also backs up its military members - Trump pardoned Chief Gallagher for slitting a prisoner's throat, so I would think no one in the chain of command is going to prosecute a 20-year-old for making a decision based on the hazy information that same chain of command provided. But stranger things have happened.

Now if the kid disobeyed the lockdown order by going on his own hunt for the active shooter, that might be a reason for some discipline. Even then, there's a tradition that violating orders in a way that exposes you to danger, in an attempt to accomplish the actual mission, isn't heavily punished - especially when, as here, the act was self-punishing.

You never know how Academy people are going to enforce the rules. Some are Pattons, some are Bradleys (sorry, I don't know enough naval history to come up with a Naval analogy). CC, JSM

"...sorry, I don't know enough naval history to come up with a Naval analogy."

Here's one: Admiral Wm. F. Halsey, Jr.

On 25 October 1944, Halsey acted with violent impetuosity when he abandoned his position blocking the San Bernardino Strait to attack Jisaburō Ozawa's Northern Force off Cape Engaño. Halsey lunged with his entire command, including 10 carriers and six modern fast battleships armed with nine 16-inch guns apiece. Ozawa's force was a hollow shell of virtually helpless carriers with barely a hundred planes between them, flown by barely trained pilots facing nearly a thousand warplanes flown by razor-sharp professionals -- Ozawa was merely bait, a decoy running interference for Admiral Takeo Kuita's task force of battleships, cruisers, and destroyers.

Halsey fell like a ton of bricks for Ozawa's deception, much like that midshipman and his parade rifle. Halsey's carriers decimated Ozawa's force, sinking four IJN carriers, including the last survivor of Nagumo's First Air Fleet, and damaging many more, entirely by carrier airpower, before Ozawa's remnant limped away into a storm front.

Halsey's battle line never got within range. Meanwhile Kurta tangled with Task Unit 77.4.3 ("Taffy 3"), primarily an anti-submarine guard force consisting of a handful of escort carriers and destroyers, and then retreated. If you want to feel enormous pride in being American rather than the shame of being fellow citizens with the likes of bloodstained monsters such as Tyler Robinson, Kak, and Inga, read about the exploits of USS Johnston and USS Samuel B. Their chains of thought, testing of conclusions, and other techniques are now well beyond simple statistical predictions of the next token/word. It should be noted that tariffs don't necessarily affect overall employment. I challenged Grok to give me two violent attacks by right wing attackers or those associated with right wing causes against Democrat officials in the last 10 years. Grok cited the Gabby Gifford shooting and the attack on Paul Pelosi.

I replied that neither were tied conclusively the right wing groups or people identified as being associated with them. Grok agreed.

Now I asked Grok to do the same for left wing groups or people associated with left wing ideology against Republicans. He came back with one attack: the murder of Charley Kirk.

For what it is worth I think the typical Lefty response to AI or any source of information, (I'm looking at you Wikipedia) is to try and control it and shape it to give information that they want other people to believe regardless of it's ultimate veracity if they think that information will make society better.

Laurence Tribe, Harvard Law professor emeritus, has posted that Charlie Kirk’s assassin was Ultra-MAGA."

More distressing is Tribe may actually belive it.

Bill Maher interviewed by Megan Kelly couple of months ago actually said police were killed on Jan 6, and he believed it.
Was surprised, but not concerned, when Kelly convinced him otherwise.

After all that time, supposedly well informed intelligent famous talk show host was repeating leftist lie.

There’s a reason why the A in AI stands for artificial.

When I see a post that starts with “I asked AI” I generally skip it.

Do you do the same when Althouse says, "I asked Grok?

Someone created a website to doxx the people who celebrated Charlie Kirk's death. It's called charlies murderers or charlie's murderers, something like that. I fed both spellings into my browser and in both cases Microsoft said "hmm...can't reach this page." Are they censoring it?
************
Just yesterday Former Law Clark bragged that he and others were doxxing such folk, with the stated intent to deprive them of employment for the rest of their lives.

Not sure, but that might be the reason Meade banned him.

This website sounds like something FLC would set up. He's crazed with hatred, being every bit as nuts as the far left.

Because inflation and faltering economy COLA is now being estimated to be 2.8% with a caveat of Medicare part B going up $21.00 to $206.00 from $185.00. I knew early that trumps fumbling around would bring a bigger COLA then the 2.5 originally projected but the raise in PART B makes it a wash pretty much. If you are the unfortunates that only have SS to live on you'll take a beating. Wait until the BIG BEAUTIFUL bill raises health premiums beyond reach for bulk of people, you wondering why people are shooting each other. Tell your kids ,grand and great grandkids to pay attention, "the times they are a changin" Hang on Sloopy!

“Kaks on tariffs this morning. Must have run out of gas on Epstein.”

“The DOJ should release all the Epstein files” ~ Charlie Kirk

Let’s all help Charlie’s wish come true. It’s what he would have wanted.

No, I give her a bit more latitude.

DD
The cost of Medicare has nothing to do with inflation DD. The cost of Medicare goes up because the target cohort keeps getting older and not dying. It goes up every year. And no. It's not free I pay for it. Plus a supplement.

"For 2025, the standard Medicare Part B monthly premium is $185.00, an increase of $10.30 from 2024. You may pay more than this amount depending on your income, with premiums adjusted based on your income from two years prior. The annual Part B deductible for 2025 is $257, which is a $17 increase from 2024. " Per the Medicare website

You and dumbass shouldn't post about this stuff because you don't know anything.

“ Certainly don't trust the results of Grok or any AI, but you educating Grok helps make it better down the road.”

I don’t. In fact I find it amusing to catch Grok in errors of the type I mentioned.

Grok has given me the same story that responding as I do improves future results. But frankly I think Grok is getting less reliable, not more.

I stand with Achilles. He's not alone. Perhaps because I am 70 years old, unmarried and not with any minor children depending upon me, I have no problem fighting Leftists and Liberals. You stand in front of my vehicle on my Florida highway in some form of protest, you better get out of the way. If you get in my face and I feel for my personal safety, I have NO hesitation to use deadly force. I don't play by the rules the Left tries to set for me.
