Where are you reading that the suspect has been released? Perhaps you're confusing the old man who was initially arrested with the person that the FBI said was in custody. Those are two different people. The old man has been released, but not the actual suspect in the killing (so far as I and my network of observers know).
The subject in custody has been released after an interrogation by law enforcement. Our investigation continues and we will continue to release information in interest of transparency FBI Director Kash Patel @FBIDirectorKash 6:59 Sept 10th 2025
The subject for the horrific shooting today that took the life ofCharlie Kirk is now in custody. Thank you to the local and state authorities in Utah for your partnership with @fbi . We will provide updates when able. FBI Director Kash Patel @FBIDirectorKash 5:21 Sept 10th 2025
For those of you with gun expertise and without getting into details on a scale of 1 to 10 how much expertise would someone need to come up with this outcome. With zero knowledge, I think. 9 - 10.
KONSTANTIN KISIN: “[T]onight feels like some sort of invisible line has been crossed that we didn’t even know was there. The last time I felt like this was 9/11 when it was clear, without knowing the how and the what, that the world was about to change forever.”
I agree.
btw- according to the democratic news media - Biden spoke up - As they re-read his phony words - I felt nothing but rage. Biden - You and your kind, killed Charlie Kirk.
"1 to 10 how much expertise would someone need to come up with this outcome"

It was a 200 yard shot, planned on the eve of 9/11. At a moving target (seated, but moving). Wind. Single shot, silencer (so extremely well-equipped). Head shot BOOM, right in the cartoid artery. Pre-planned escape. Successful exfiltration in the presence of both hired security, but a light police presence.
My (life long Democrat) wife just watched CBS News and informed me that there have been 41 school shootings so far this year. This was after they reported on Charlie.
That is the DNC media spin on an obvious political assassination.
Larry Ellison Tops Elon Musk as Worlds Richest Man After Oracle Stock Surge ~ Bloomberg
Ellison is 81, is the richest guy in the world, on his 6th wife, has won the Americas Cup, and uses an empty swimming pool as a sub woofer at a personal theatre in one of his many mansions. Now you can say what you like about Larry but he’s led a full life.
Hitting the neck of a sitting, immobile person at 200 yards with a scoped rifle (probably) with one shot at a downward trajectory: 8-10 That rifle-scope was dialed in beforehand which takes some knowledge and some rifle range to shoot targets at 200m which isn't all that common - though it could have been done at 100m and that may be good enough for a high velocity cartridge. Knowing how to compensate for shooting down, more so. It could be the killer was aiming for the head or chest and its just happenstance that he hit the neck.
Mr. T. The left lie to each other and themselves. It's their cult. They want everyone they disagree with dead - but after it happens they deny it all. The black-garb w/ head-to-toe antifa brownshirts are the new Nazis.
Most, if not all, the blood belongs on the hand of the teacher unions and our "education" system, that are responsible for instruction young people to take up violent leftism.
Look at the AAUP's long history of supporting violent leftist faculty and campus orgs. The AAUP published a field guide on how to suppress speech by TPUSA through violence and intimidation, by Any Means Necessary.
Scratch an outbreak of campus violence, and you'll find a leftist student org, with an AAUP prof right behind them, quotes ad nauseum by Axios and Inside Higher Ed.
Others I have met and shaken hands with in my 40 years in IT/Tech- Steve Jobs, Peter Thiel, Bill Gates, Paul Allen, Elon Musk. Those people shake a lot of hands though.
What was the goal of the shooter? Random insanity and sudden onset fury is not possible. It was a planned tactic. I guess it was to shut the mouth of someone who is changing public opinion. A move to the advantage of a soulless clique. That organization is obviously comfortable with murder as a tool of politics. Who are they?
I remember when a nut job killed the Minnesota Speaker of the House. Assholes like Kak and Mark blamed the Right, even though it was well known that the Speaker had recently cast a vote that upset many on the left. When the killer was found days later, it was discovered that Tim Walz had appointed him to various government positions. When the killer confessed, he made clear in writing that Tim Walz told him to do it. No apologies from Kak and Mark. In fact, they just pivoted to saying they didn't believe the written confession.
Now Kak calls the FBI, that were not on the scene of Charlie Kirk's assassination but did catch the killer within hours "Keystone Kops". Kak might want to stop.
For those of you with gun expertise and without getting into details on a scale of 1 to 10 how much expertise would someone need to come up with this outcome. With zero knowledge, I think. 9 - 10.
I haven't heard any details on the caliber or number of shots taken. If it was one shot then I am guessing they chose a hunting/sniper rifle for the shot.
The skills to take the shot were not uncommon. Many reasonably intelligent and coordinated people with 30 minutes and the right guidance could make the shot if they were given the right gear. I could guide most of you how to lay prone with a rifle and sand bags and line up a shot at a 10 inch plate with a 6-10x scope on a hunting rifle at 200 meters.
The uncommon part is knowing how to position and how to set up support for the weapon. How to zero the weapon and the scope. How to scout the area and approach the target and take the shot then escape. Moving through a college campus with a hunting rifle then taking a shot and escaping implies a high level of skill.
I didn't watch the video but just from what I have heard I would guess a suppressor was involved as well. Most of the sound you hear when a suppressor is used is the crack of the bullet breaking the speed of sound and it can be difficult to know exactly where it came from which would help you escape.
Charlie Kirk was considered a future presidential candidate - maybe in 3 or 4 election cycles. He was certainly building a national network as well as changing a lot of minds and hearts.
Its true that this required some planning. This was not something done on the spur of the moment - unless maybe he was an avid hunter who had prepared for the season, or a keen target shooter.
Just the News' Jon Solomon said the bullet hit Kirk's bullet proof vest and ricocheted to his neck (he also got the word Charlie had died about 15 minutes before Trump's tweet). Yeah, couldn't be two shooters firing simultaneously. Hat Tip Warren Commission.
With the awful Charlie Kirk assassination following so closely the Girl on the Train, I, a faithful catholic, am thinking about the death penalty. I consult from time to time a book of my father’s, Special Ethics by Joseph Sullivan SJ, from 1929, when the Jesuits were still held in great esteem. It covers a wide range of thorny societal issues. From his thesis on capital punishment: “civil society has the right of inflicting capital punishment if the taking of human life is not of itself intrinsically wrong…and if it is necessary to deter men from committing more atrocious crimes such as murder. “The taking of of human life is not of itself instrinsically wrong, as God is the supreme master of human life and can grant permission to take human life under certain circumstances…the death penalty is a necessary means to deter men from more atrocious crimes and to preserve public order and peace. This is clear from experience which shows that there are men so depraved and wicked that they can be deterred from crime by the most potent punishment available. “The only other remedy in the hands of the state is life imprisonment and this is not always effectual, because freedom may in the course of time be obtained by force or fraud…” Anyhoo, don’t let folks accuse you of hypocrisy for supporting both the death penalty and a pro life position: both pertain to the protection of innocent life. And another thing: Utah gov Spencer Cox has the right stuff. His remarks at the press conference tonight were direct, unscripted, heartfelt. I’m so used to pols reading remarks from a page. He’s the real deal.
The correct memorial to Charlie Kirk would be even more reasoned discourse. I'm quite sure he was shot to make us feel that talk is useless. And there are commenters here shrieking out slogans along those lines. But we can easily avoid still widespread violence still. If you merely said to college students that they might lose their cell phones at protests, attendance would drop by 95%. We won't have youth violence. I'm not being cynical; I just see that this is still all in people's minds and by that I mean, they picture themselves near something exciting and taking a picture of it and going home and showing off their picture. They aren't at all thinking of doing something that gets them hurt without a picture or that endangers their easy life or their future. And the symbol of that mindset is all those people taking pictures at flag burnings or building takeovers as compared to the small number actually doing anything. Yes, there are real serious Communists among us, ready to loot and burn but the number of the beasts with the torches is still miniscule compared to the number of the furries with their phones. And they would cwy for Mommy without them.
"These people have lost their minds, ethics and morals."
No.
These people have revealed to us their minds, ethics and morals.
They are not "crazy."
They are committed to victory. And they are doing exactly what they should do if they wish to achieve victory on this battlefield. The very first thing you would do in a war is to remove all influential opposition first.
Democrats are executing on their battle plan very competently and have the FBI running around in circles like a bunch of fucking buffoons.
What you saw today was a textbook successful military operation.
Sept 11 is now a reminder that Charlie Kirk was assassinated the day before.
AI : "An assassination is more than just a killing—it’s a targeted, deliberate act with specific characteristics that set it apart from other forms of homicide. Here's what typically constitutes an assassination:
🕵️♂️ Key Elements of Assassination Targeted Killing: The victim is usually a prominent figure—such as a political leader, activist, journalist, or public official.
Motivation: The act is often driven by political, ideological, or religious motives. It’s not random or purely personal.
Premeditation: Assassinations are planned in advance, often involving surveillance, strategy, and sometimes hired perpetrators.
Public Impact: These killings tend to have broader consequences—sparking political unrest, war, or societal change. Think of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, which triggered World War I.
Illegality: It’s considered a serious crime under most jurisdictions, often resulting in life imprisonment or the death penalty.
⚖️ Legal Perspective In law, assassination is defined as the unlawful, deliberate killing of a prominent person, often without provocation and for hire or ideological reasons. It’s distinct from murder in that it usually involves a high-profile target and broader motives.
🧠 Fun Fact The word “assassination” comes from the medieval Islamic sect Hashshashin, known for politically motivated killings. That’s where the term “assassin” originates"
I'm angry, but I feel compelled to be even more kind, to force the anger down, to smile at strangers more than ever. The idea that I will smile at someone who celebrated this hurts my soul.
I read today that someone said that they killed the nicest one of us, the one most willing to talk and especially to listen and engage them with respect. That's the place we have arrived at in America. Is there anything remaining for the left to destroy? If there is, I'm sure they are on it.
Some shadowy evil that runs the modern democratic party - did this. They cannot compete with good ideas - so they smother us with lies, death and destruction.
“The correct memorial to Charlie Kirk” The correct memorial would be for every single Democrat who mentioned Nazi or Dictator or threat to democracy . . . for every one of those Democrats to put on a MAGA hat for the next week, to put a Trump sign in their yards, or a MAGA bumper sticker on their cars to signal to the raving lunatics in their party that violence is wrong, that disagreement is not violence. Let them walk in Charlie Kirk’s shoes. THAT would be a fitting memorial to the great Charlie Kirk.
"The subject for the horrific shooting today that took the life ofCharlie Kirk is now in custody. Thank you to the local and state authorities in Utah for your partnership with @fbi"
This usually means locals find the bad guy, FBI piggybacks for credit. Kinda disappointed in Patel for following that playbook.
Achilles: That's a great succinct coldly honest assessment. Too many things had to go right, especially to escape the immediate area and the only being described as wearing dark clothes.
I wouldn't be surprised if whoever did this becomes a ghost one way or the other.
Everyone needs to understand the history of the United States. This isn't the first time we had to sit down and admit to ourselves that we're going to have to kill a LOT of Americans, a LOT of Democrats, in order to secure the union.
Abraham Lincoln had this agonizing realization in 1861 when Democrats attacked Ft. Sumpter (a US naval base.) He realized that he was just going to have to kill a lot of Democrats to unify the nation we live in today.
They murdered him for it in the end. But he was right then.
So you all need to get comfortable with killing Democrats again. It's in our history. It's not unprecedented.
If the war were held today, with our population, it would take 4 million dead Democrats to end the war.
“ For those of you with gun expertise and without getting into details on a scale of 1 to 10 how much expertise would someone need to come up with this outcome. With zero knowledge, I think. 9 - 10.”
My last experience was in Army basic training. The farthest target was at 300 meters. Most trainees could hit that pretty regularly with an M-16, which isn’t an especially accurate weapon.
With the right weapon in the hands of a skilled shooter I would put the odds at 10 of 10.
I think it's fair to acknowledge that the instinctive, primal rage that the Charlotte murder inspired in most males has not abated and today's atrocity fuels it further among the civilized people.
One of the men who must feel this anger is Donald Trump. Charlie Kirk was a friend of his and, well, to the President and Commander-in-Chief the poor Ukrainian girl must have looked eerily similar to a young Ivanka.
Take a deep breath, look at your feet. Recall what your father looked like. Try to imagine a society where 50% of the people think that draining the blood from unfavored people’s necks is ok, is healthy. That is were we are, if you listen to the press.
Not a gun guy but I've watched some 'gun guy' video and it's my understanding that a sub sonic round that is suppressed will basically fly thru the air silently and you only hear the 'woosh' as it goes by. The audio needs to be studied. Including that from audience video.
This is not a call to action for Republicans. This is a call to action for Democrats. Democrats have to signal in a tangible way way that they believe in democracy with a small d.
A real model of how NOT TO DO a report on a murder IN utah They couldn't agree on who was a suspect, he's caught he's not ,he's a suspect no he's a person of interest. WE GOT EM(PATEL) WTF TALK ABOUT dysfunctional and the shooter still out there. The worst after incident report i have seen since the WACO mindfuk with Janet Reno... Sure don't instill confidence in that group of KEYSTONES. BEAUCOUP DINKY DAU!!! All the real pros been fired and replaced by knuckleheads. The flag flies at half staff he was killed on LAND......
Trump seems like he's waking up. In an Oval Office address to the nation tonight he called the political assassination of Charlie Kirk by Democrats "terrorism."
He's right. They are a terrorist organization. And we must stop them.
Eva - The only democrats that would do so, are those who have already left the party. The Democrat Party is a sewer - from top to bottom. Their cultists will stay loyal, and their corruption will continue to kill people.
I can't honestly call myself a Christian, but on most other issues, I agreed with Kirk, and say the same things he did. It's sobering to know that so many of my fellow "Americans" think I should be shot dead for that, and it would give them joy. How am I supposed to feel about those people?
Achilles: That's a great succinct coldly honest assessment. Too many things had to go right, especially to escape the immediate area and the only being described as wearing dark clothes.
I wouldn't be surprised if whoever did this becomes a ghost one way or the other.
I have read that the shot was fired from the roof of a building.
If this is true then things become much more sinister.
Normally a sniper cannot take a position on a roof for a variety of reasons. It may not be hard to get roof access but that means you have to get off the roof when you exfiltrate. In this case the shooter either climbed down an external fire escape or went back down the stairs through a college campus building then ran off the campus with nobody seeing them.
I spent a fair amount of time in Kandahar on roof tops. It is not possible to use roofs unless you own the area and have freedom to maneuver. Even then "sneaking" on a roof is very hard. If one of the locals came out there is no place to hide on a roof. There was always confrontation.
I find it difficult to believe nobody saw him leave or that he was alone. I will wait for some details and witness statements to come out but it sure seems like it would be hard for someone to get on a roof on a college campus with nobody seeing them.
“The Democrat Party is a sewer” Well some brave (or calculating) Democrat needs to step up from the sewer, if not because it’s the right thing to do, then out of a sense of personal ambition. Because the keys to the Democrat Party are within your reach.
Its OK, chickelit. I would not have believed it if I didn't see it. It's jarring, but clarifying. The worst possible response to a cold blooded murder in black and white. I didn't really like these people, but I thought it was mostly political disagreement, but it's much worse than that. I can't even recognize them as human anymore. They write words and sentences, but there is no soul, only politics.
This is a moment when someone could save the Democratic party in name only by completely abandoning and denouncing most of the ghouls, but that won't happen.
"Ranstad, whose 6,778ft kill in Afghanistan set a record for the longest by an American in Afghanistan at the time, spoke to the Daily Mail about the shooting. He said the amphitheater-like site was a 'buffet feast' for any shooter, pointing out how much easier it is to hit a target when shooting down from a roof.
He said: 'The security was super light, no crime at that school. So I guess the threat was low apparently. 'That's a buffet for someone who wanted to kill someone. It looked like a fishbowl, like an amphitheater, and high ground is money for shooters. Shooting down is easy.' He continued: 'When you have events like that you look at the security, if you push 250, 300 yards, it's an easy shot. 'And not to mention out in the open, wind is low out in the country. It's not like in the city where a bullet flying past the buildings will move more.' He added: 'Any bloke can go to the range three or four times and make that shot. I would start looking at range time if I was police. 'They should get all the videos, who's got what rifle and who isn't properly trained so don't know how to control their blood pressure and adrenaline. 'They're probably just an internet shooter, not a sniper or trained soldier.'
Ranstad said the fact that only one shot was fired and the suspect disappeared for a number of hours suggested he had a solid exit plan after the killing. He said: 'He probably had an exfil plan. Normally it's crazy people who shoot 30 rounds. This was one shot, that was it.' 'In my opinion they had a plan. If you think about it, one shot, he's not caught...
A Democrat needs to step up and propose that we all - Democrats especially- out of a sense of unity as a country, need to wear black arm bands on the day of Charlie Kirk’s funeral. If Mamdani did this he would cinch the Democrat nomination for the Presidency and maybe the Presidency as well.
Not a gun guy but I've watched some 'gun guy' video and it's my understanding that a sub sonic round that is suppressed will basically fly thru the air silently and you only hear the 'woosh' as it goes by. The audio needs to be studied. Including that from audience video.
Subsonic rounds are a thing. I use subsonic pistol rounds with 9mm and .45. The key there is that subsonic rounds start at ~900 feet per second. There is a right called the 300 blackout that specifically uses an upper-lower combination to use 556 casings with a 7.62 round. At the most basic level you just use a much heavier bullet with a measured amount of powder to achieve the desired muzzle velocity. You can sit on the range and use some tools to measure muzzle velocity if you make your own stuff or you can buy "subsonic" rounds easily enough.
But the problem is that taking a 200 meter shot with a subsonic round is actually very hard. I would have to set up for a couple days with practice and zeroing to make that happen. I heard 520 feet on the shot distance. at 900 feet per second you are talking over half a second of travel time.
Bullet drop is 9.8 m/s^2 which comes out to ~5.4 feet. That means you have to aim 5.4 feet higher than where you want the bullet to hit. Also with a half second of travel time wind becomes an issue. You have to know exactly what you are doing at that point.
If they used subsonic rounds the list of suspects gets pretty short.
Gun control is not a useful tack to take here. This was easily possible with an entirely legal weapon, a hunting or target rifle not subject to control even in California.
Not a gun guy but I've watched some 'gun guy' video and it's my understanding that a sub sonic round that is suppressed will basically fly thru the air silently and you only hear the 'woosh' as it goes by.
That was a 180-200 yard shot. It's unlikely that a subsonic round would be used for a shot like that. Almost all subsonic rounds are pistol calibers, and even a rifle-caliber subsonic round like the 300 Blackout would have an enormous drop of a yard or more at that distance. A telescopic sight could be adjusted to compensate for this by a skilled shooter, but I think it is more likely that they used a high powered supersonic rifle round like a .308 that would only deflect a few inches at that range.
A suppressor never achieves complete "Hollywood" silence, and when used for sniper engagements with supersonic rounds at distance, it is definitely still extremely loud, but the suppressor makes it harder to identify where the shot is coming from. It also reduces recoil to the shooter and helps obscure the muzzle blast and flash.
"The targeted assassination of Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, is a stark example of political terrorism employing guerrilla warfare tactics. As a prominent conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA, Kirk’s killing aligns with the characteristics of political terrorism—violence aimed at creating fear and influencing political outcomes—while incorporating guerrilla warfare’s hallmark strategies of surprise, mobility, and psychological impact."
Grok aligned this sort of terrorism with the murder of Abraham Lincoln and the coup against Richard Nixon executed by the FBI selectively leaking information to the Washington Post (the famous Deep Throat character, being of course Mark Felt, the Associate Director of the FBI.)
I found an early 2012 video of Charlie Kirk talking about what Turning Point USA was about: Link to video
The following is an AI treatment of --otherwise it's hard to follow-- the transcript :
'Turning Point USA aims to address inaccuracies in high school and college textbooks by challenging falsehoods and misconceptions. For example, after the Ryan tax cuts, 23 million jobs were created, yet some textbooks cite authors like Paul Krugman, who in his book "Conscience of a Liberal," promotes the idea that collective thinking and increased government dependency are positive. This kind of content is being taught in schools, which is why it’s important to be involved in school boards, communities, and youth initiatives like ours that encourage young people to participate. Recently, we hosted a debate at Illinois State University with around 250 to 300 students discussing fiscal responsibility and limited government. We plan to continue similar events at Loyola University, Iowa State University, and the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Our goal is to engage on college campuses and in classrooms to challenge ideas that threaten democracy, such as the acceptance of spending beyond means and reliance on big government. The national debt has doubled in seven years, from $7.5 trillion to $16 trillion, similar to the debt increase Britain experienced before taxing the American colonies. Despite this, current leadership seeks to raise taxes on wealth creators, echoing the actions of King George towards the colonies...'
CK was armed with the facts about History and the facts shaping public policy today, and he was persuading the young minds at their college campuses. Now that CK has been assassinated, maybe, just maybe another potential CK might be intrigued just enough to do his or her own research and realize the lesson that repeats over and over, killing has never been the answer.
BTW: I would love to hear how killing your opponent is "the right side of History". Has anybody checked in on Inga?
A Democrat needs to step up and propose that we all - Democrats especially- out of a sense of unity as a country, need to wear black arm bands on the day of Charlie Kirk’s funeral. If Mamdani did this he would cinch the Democrat nomination for the Presidency and maybe the Presidency as well.
Oh fuck no.
Sorry Eva. It is a fundamental problem with democrats like Mamdani. Mamdani believes in violence. Mamdani has a core ideological foundation that the right people must force everyone to "share" their stuff "fairly."
Death and destruction will follow anyone like Mamdani who comes into power. He will jail and kill anyone who doesn't give him their stuff. That means people that vote against him.
Correct, and the British actually make some of the very best rifles of this sort. There's a UK company called Accuracy International that supplies military organizations all over the world with extraordinarily accurate, hugely expensive bolt action sniper rifles, often costing more than $10,000 each. You won't find them in your local gun shop, but if you've got that kind of cash, you can have one ordered for you and take possession of it in any state in the Union, as well as any country in Europe, with the right paperwork. A 200 yard engagement with one of those rifles is an easy chip shot after no more than a day of training.
@Buwaya: No other Tech Founder holds even double digit shares and in the business since 90s. On top of that he is still CTO of Oracle. What an incredible achievement by Ellison.
There are two Americas now. Both believe strongly that the other is evil and means them harm. Separate media environments has something to do with this but it’s not the exclusive cause. When you have to fight ideas with bullets, you’ve already lost the fight.
I just realized that one of the 'journalists' who made asses of themselves over today's murder is named Katy Tur and is obviously a Democrat. So we can call her Katy Tur(D)!
Lem Vibe Bandit (8:31pm): Another fun fact. 'Assassin' comes from 'Hashshashin', but I believe 'Hashshashin' comes from 'hashish', which they used to get into the mood for killin'.
The left's terrorist inspiring words: Repeated daily.
"Trump is an existential threat to democracy" "Trump is Hitler" "Trump is a fascist" "Trump is a King" "Trump's supporters are fascists" "Trump is a Nazi" Trump's supporters are Nazis" "Trump is a dictator and he will end our democracy"
All of those words come out of elite democrats in positions of power. That rhetoric emboldens the violent leftist cultists to act.
“All of those words come out of elite democrats in positions of power.” That’s why this opportunity is right there in front of a young (under 50) Democrat. Kyrsten Sinema would be a good candidate.
X TheGentlemansGuild @InfiniteselfC There are discord networks with literal thousands of radicalised liberals. And there are hundreds of these networks.
The likleyhood is the shooter was among them and all of them are somewhat complicit, knew this was happening.
My line have work has had me see this directly…" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No idea what that is about - but interesting.
Barack Obama sanctioned aborting a "burden" for social, clinical, criminal, political, and climate progress. His followers are faithful acolytes of his religion.
“All of those words come out of elite democrats in positions of power.” That’s why this opportunity is right there in front of a young (under 50) Democrat. Kyrsten Sinema would be a good candidate.
Your problem Eva is that you think Democrat voters are decent people who will accept the loss of government power and the ability to take our stuff.
All of the decent liberal Democrats left with Tulsi Gabbard and RFK.
All you have left now are racists, fascists, neocons, criminals, illegal aliens, socialists, and communists. Every one of these groups supports murdering us.
On MSNBC Matthew Dowd was asked for his thoughts about the Charlie Kirk shooting. He said “We don’t know if this was a supporter shooting their gun off in celebration. So we have no idea about this.”
Big Mike said...”As of tonight he is no longer employed by MSNBC.”
And that not because Dowd was partisan but because was a highly paid analyst who offered some very piss-poor analysis. Reminded me of the FBI boss who said Trump’s flesh wound was from glass from shattered teleprompter. These people in high places can no longer afford to spew nonsense.
Oh my goodness. I'm composing a post and I'm not happy with it, when it hits me harder than a Will Smith slap.
They are resorting to --let's call it extreme measures-- because Trump wont let them burn the cities down! He'll send the National Guard at the drop of a MAGA hat.
“To see what is in front of one’s nose needs a constant struggle.”-- George Orwell
Trump talked Dems into refusing the National Guard, despite the high crime mayhem. So when it came time for another round of burn your city mayhem, Trump had backed them into a corner. To paraphrase the Dr Evil meme: They can't prove Trump wrong, while proving him right.
Between this and the Charlotte slaying, this is starting to feel like one of those weeks or months when decades happen, and tomorrow -- 9/11 again.
Matthew Dowd changed parties and sides without changing his basic character. He probably convinced himself that he was saving his soul, when he was just a snake shedding an old skin for a new one. He may also have had the Joe Scarborough/Nicolle Wallace problem of not knowing how far he has to go to please his new masters.
Trump talked Dems into refusing the National Guard, despite the high crime mayhem. So when it came time for another round of burn your city mayhem, Trump had backed them into a corner.
Senator John Kennedy told everyone that early in Trump's term when he said that the GOP's new strategy was to just keep the Democrats talking. Trump has kept that up and done a very masterful job of it as well.
“ A Democrat needs to step up and propose that we all - Democrats especially- out of a sense of unity as a country, need to wear black arm bands on the day of Charlie Kirk’s funeral. If Mamdani did this he would cinch the Democrat nomination for the Presidency and maybe the Presidency as well.”
Mamdami was born in Uganda, thank God.
I’ve heard that a potato can be used as an effective silencer. Only for one shot, of course.
Re Larry Ellison: I’ve been using computers all my working life, since the days when you loaded the boot program for a PDP-8 by setting switches on the front panel and then loaded the operating system from a paper tape. I still have absolutely no idea what Oracle does.
Donald Trump blamed radical left Democrats for the assassination of Charlie Kirk when no one really knows. (A single person was caught on video fleeing from the roof of a building about 200 yards from Kirk''s location in the ampitheatre below).
Trump then provided a list of incidents of what he termed “radical left political violence, including the attempt to kill him last year, the killing of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson (not true) , the 2017 shooting of Republican congressman Steve Scalise and what he called “the attacks (??) on Ice agents.”
The president’s list notably did not include violence against Democrats, like the murder of Melissa Hortman, a Minnesota state lawmaker, and her husband, and the shooting of another Democratic state lawmaker and his wife in June, by a man who a hit list of 45 elected officials — all Democrats.
Oracle is a highly sophisticated database system (RDBMS) with lots of bits and pieces bolted on. Apps are built off of it, like SAP, which runs on a customized version of Oracle. Its the equivalent of Cobol, the standby of the old mainframe datacenters. Its what runs in the current datacenters.
Oracle is like SQL+++, if you know what SQL is. A common app trick is to dump Oracle databases to SQL databases as a batch or semi-real time query process, and use the SQL database to support query and reporting or other one-way apps so as not to overload the Oracle hardware.
If you want to get started in Oracle and etc. without making Larry Ellison richer, pick up Linux, because Oracle runs on a Unix-like OS, and Microsofts SQL Express to practice working with an RDBMS. For actual Oracle, take a class. Its a lot of classes and cert exams to get started on a career.
I didn't know that Matthew Dowd the idiot who got fired today for his stupid comments on air is close to marrying Maria Shriver?? What a weird coupling.
Texas Democrat Matthew Dowd has been fired from the MSNBC network after saying on air that the murder of conservative commentator and activist Charlie Kirk was justified by Kirk's "hate speech."
Dowd, a Texas Democrat who most recently ran for Lt. Governor, cheered the murder moments after graphic footage of it was shown: "You can’t stop with these sort of awful thoughts you have and then saying these awful words and then not expect awful actions to take place," Dowd explained.
Here's how terrorism works: Democrats define hate speech. Hate speech is defined as any speech they don't like that causes Democrats to lose elections. Then they justify murdering Americans on the basis said hate speech.
It should also be noted that Minnesota Democrat assassin Vance Boelter, who killed 3 people in a Democrat terrorist attack, alleged he was hired by Minnesota Democrat Tim Walz.
A Democrat needs to step up and propose that we all - Democrats especially- out of a sense of unity as a country ....
You're a nice person, Eva Marie. So, I'll be nice.
The left doesn't want unity. They never have. They want control.
Unity is a pipe dream. Because there a lot of people - like me - who have no interest in being unified with those who want us dead for nothing more than speaking our minds.
Lem/Weevil, ref the Assassins/hashish-eaters: the leaders would get new recruits stoned off their gourds, then bring them into a lavish room and tell them it was a mystical vision of Paradise, where they would end up for eternity if they followed their orders.
Sounds a lot like the Left's recruiting technique. JSM
Why Charlie Kirk? Because he was a change agent in enemy territory, that would be college campus’s. Many pundits credit Kirk with Trump’s recent election victory.
Trump turned many demographic groups into his favor, blacks, Hispanics and young people (See: Charlie Kirk above). My college age grandson joined his cause and is now in a leadership position on his campus.
The Commie leadership viewed Kirk as a major threat that must be quashed.
It bears repeating: “They bring a knife we bring a gun” (Nobel Peace Prize recipient Barack Obama).
Hate speech is defined as any speech they don't like that causes Democrats to lose elections.
Or apparently, to lose their minds.
I heard an interesting podcast before this travesty occurred, talking about how if you don't exercise your inhibitory capacity - basically practice self-control - you progressively* lose the ability to do so. My brother-in-law, who hasn't spoken to us since the election, reportedly told my mother-in-law that he was avoiding any contact with us because he didn't feel he could control himself around us. She told my husband this approvingly - "look how much self-control he's showing."
My husband correctly pointed out that he was acknowledging that he was emotionally a child who would throw a tantrum if he were crossed.
* Yeah. You know where I'm going with this. With regard to inhibitory capacity, to quote an early progressive thinker, "Do what thou wilt."
gadfly said... Donald Trump blamed radical left Democrats for the assassination of Charlie Kirk when no one really knows.
A week after a cargo ship hit the Francis Scott Key Bridge, you blamed the inability to track the vessel and proposed a ATC system for shipping. You made this claim despite the fact that everyone knew where the ship was at all times. Attempts were made to evacuate the bridge because they knew it was coming. And IMO has been has a thing since 1948 and AIS has been a requirement since 2002.
You don’t know most of the shit posts you make, but you post them anyway.
Hell botfly, just yesterday you were telling us how stopping the murderer in Charlotte was too complex, when even his mother knew what needed to be done. We understand you don’t know things, but you really should stop with the nobody else knows too. It might give you comfort that others are as stupid as you, but we are not and no longer in the mood to suffer fools.
I am surprised that the MSM immediately started covering Kirk's (pbuh) death. I won't say "pleasantly" surprised, both because there is nothing pleasant about this, but mainly because there has to be an ulterior motive.
They took 2 weeks to cover Irinya's (z''l) stabbing in Charlotte. They started covering it because Fox and the right-wing cybersphere were relentless. Maybe they learned a lesson from that and started covering yesterday's shooting in real time? It would have been easy to just ignore one shooting death in a small market, for a while anyway.
Or is the media coverage part of the overall strategy? Combine the kinetic strike with the information campaign? Note that no 'conspiracy,' ie coordination ahead of time, is required for this. Just people simultaneously seeing their interests and acting on them independently. JSM
Just people simultaneously seeing their interests and acting on them independently
We know msm media knows what its mission is and it isn’t journalism and based on the most egregious comments out of them from yesterday they were caught flat footed. It will be smoothed out today and the next few as damage control is coordinated…unfortunately we also know from twitter censorship their orders come fast and furious from multiple micromanagement masters- the congress monsters and their office staffers who monitor everything and send and text directives faster than they can process…
Or is the media coverage part of the overall strategy? Combine the kinetic strike with the information campaign?
Kirk was killed at a TPUSA event surrounded by hundreds of supporters and a number of hostile college students he debates with and the security he has to hire to protect him from deranged leftists on campus.
There were many cameras on him. This blew up on X before the media started covering it. The corporate media understand exactly what position they are in right now.
They know one good course of action right now would be giving everyone in corporate media the choice between exile and prison and that they were very much responsible for Kirk being shot.
🔝Our politics seems to be entering a phase of "right supremacy" where only the lives of right-wingers have value. Assassinating the leader of a state legislative body in her own damn home was business as usual, but all of America has to have a reckoning if it's a far-right online influencer.
I think that the strategy of keeping the Democrats talking is brilliant, BTW. They do best with short cryptic bursts that ignore half the evidence, and sound like they are based on logic. But of course all of their best stuff falls apart when their actual thinking is exposed.
I think that their problem is paying "influencers" who think that they have to punch the clock and weigh in when saying nothing would be the best strategy.
LOL! Just when you think Kakabich couldn't possibly be more moronically asinine he finds another barrel at the bottom of the original barrel. Honestly, I don't think I have ever come across an internet commenter who beclowns themselves more- even Inga has more self-respect.
I think that the difference between this and that despicable murder is that in the case of the murder that Kaka cites, a monstrous hue and cry in defense of the murderer and justifying the killing did not arise.
FormerLawClerk said... It should also be noted that Minnesota Democrat assassin Vance Boelter, who killed 3 people in a Democrat terrorist attack, alleged he was hired by Minnesota Democrat Tim Walz.
And every X post I've seen refers to Vance Bolter with his Democrat ties as a right wing extremist nutjob. Almost as if they either aren't aware of his Democrat ties, or they think the rest of us don't know. Or maybe- their "news" sources never mentioned it.
Assassinating the leader of a state legislative body in her own damn home was business as usual
Well you and Mark did blame everyone on the right for it. Then the perp was arrested, confessed in writing, and you no longer seem to want to talk about who appointed the perp and his claimed motives. Would you like to discuss it now?
Only the IRA used potatoes for silencers. ( I really am not in the mood to even attempt humor --- this has hit me hard and I am mourning the seventh anniversary of my oldest daughter's death from complications related to her smoking fentanyl.)
Perhaps the best way to deal with the evil Left (evil even without the despicable comments) is to vote them out of office as much as possible in the mid-terms. I had the thought an hour ago that the Left's reaction to the CK shooting may finally be their undoing. I would think so many people hate DJT that the comments after Butler did not affect people as much as the assassination (and comments afterwards) of this young man who left behind a young wife and two children. The FB reels today showed many clips of his daughter squealing with delight when she saw her dad on screen or in person after an appearance.

I thought Patel twitted (Xed) the suspect was in custody.
The NY Post is reporting that the FBI has a suspect in custody, quoting Patel.
Utah's governor is reminding everyone that they still have the death penalty, because of course they never do it ... so we need reminding.
They've executed exactly 1 person in the last 10 years.
We finally got some hummingbird action. Butterflies have been plentiful, but I had just about given up on the birdies.
The death penalty isn't a deterrent because we simply don't do it in many states.
So Democrats feel free to assassinate us knowing that we're cowards and won't do the same to them.
The NY Post is reporting that the FBI has a suspect in custody, quoting Patel.
He was released.

He said conservatives like Trump need to stop making Democrats murder people in broad daylight.
His house is not on fire tonight, for some reason.
@MaryBeth
Where are you reading that the suspect has been released? Perhaps you're confusing the old man who was initially arrested with the person that the FBI said was in custody. Those are two different people. The old man has been released, but not the actual suspect in the killing (so far as I and my network of observers know).

For those of you with gun expertise and without getting into details on a scale of 1 to 10 how much expertise would someone need to come up with this outcome. With zero knowledge, I think. 9 - 10.
Plus this seems to mimic Butler pretty closely. Is that a fair observation?

I agree.
btw- according to the democratic news media - Biden spoke up - As they re-read his phony words - I felt nothing but rage.
Biden - You and your kind, killed Charlie Kirk.
the democrat party is the party of murder and assassination.

This person is a trained sniper and executioner.
@[T]onight feels like some sort of invisible line has been crossed that we didn’t even know was there.
This guy shouldn't be announcing how stupid he is on social media.
How could he not know this line was there.
My (life long Democrat) wife just watched CBS News and informed me that there have been 41 school shootings so far this year. This was after they reported on Charlie.
That is the DNC media spin on an obvious political assassination.

Ellison is 81, is the richest guy in the world, on his 6th wife, has won the Americas Cup, and uses an empty swimming pool as a sub woofer at a personal theatre in one of his many mansions. Now you can say what you like about Larry but he’s led a full life.
Hitting the neck of a sitting, immobile person at 200 yards with a scoped rifle (probably) with one shot at a downward trajectory: 8-10
That rifle-scope was dialed in beforehand which takes some knowledge and some rifle range to shoot targets at 200m which isn't all that common - though it could have been done at 100m and that may be good enough for a high velocity cartridge. Knowing how to compensate for shooting down, more so.
It could be the killer was aiming for the head or chest and its just happenstance that he hit the neck.
@Maynard

Axios is pure evil.
These people have lost their minds, ethics and morals.

“The only other remedy in the hands of the state is life imprisonment and this is not always effectual, because freedom may in the course of time be obtained by force or fraud…”
Anyhoo, don’t let folks accuse you of hypocrisy for supporting both the death penalty and a pro life position: both pertain to the protection of innocent life.
Gotta hand it to the Democrats. They won the day.
According to Grok “Suppressors are heavily regulated under the National Firearms Act.”

Charlie challenged the Left in good faith to honest debates about the soul and future of America. They shot him for it.
Fuck that. They haven’t won shit.
Sept 11 is now a reminder that Charlie Kirk was assassinated the day before.
AI : "An assassination is more than just a killing—it’s a targeted, deliberate act with specific characteristics that set it apart from other forms of homicide. Here's what typically constitutes an assassination:
🕵️♂️ Key Elements of Assassination
Targeted Killing: The victim is usually a prominent figure—such as a political leader, activist, journalist, or public official.
⚖️ Legal Perspective
In law, assassination is defined as the unlawful, deliberate killing of a prominent person, often without provocation and for hire or ideological reasons. It’s distinct from murder in that it usually involves a high-profile target and broader motives.
🧠 Fun Fact
The word “assassination” comes from the medieval Islamic sect Hashshashin, known for politically motivated killings.
“The correct memorial to Charlie Kirk”
The correct memorial would be for every single Democrat who mentioned Nazi or Dictator or threat to democracy . . . for every one of those Democrats to put on a MAGA hat for the next week, to put a Trump sign in their yards, or a MAGA bumper sticker on their cars to signal to the raving lunatics in their party that violence is wrong, that disagreement is not violence. Let them walk in Charlie Kirk’s shoes. THAT would be a fitting memorial to the great Charlie Kirk.

So get ready.
I’d settle for the shitbirds sticking the sign and signpost right up their malevolent asses, Eva Marie.
Has anyone blamed the killers parents yet?
I think it's fair to acknowledge that the instinctive, primal rage that the Charlotte murder inspired in most males has not abated and today's atrocity fuels it further among the civilized people.
One of the men who must feel this anger is Donald Trump. Charlie Kirk was a friend of his and, well, to the President and Commander-in-Chief the poor Ukrainian girl must have looked eerily similar to a young Ivanka.
I assure you he's viscerally angry, because I am.
Headline: "TMZ forced to apologize for 'laughter in office during Charlie Kirk assassination broadcast"

The Left isn’t scoring any points here and they are certainly hurting their cause. Please stop.
I can't honestly call myself a Christian, but on most other issues, I agreed with Kirk, and say the same things he did. It's sobering to know that so many of my fellow "Americans" think I should be shot dead for that, and it would give them joy. How am I supposed to feel about those people?
My daughter forwarded a screen shot that contained the following:

Elizabeth Warren (D) - asshole
Iman - maybe that should go to the FBI?
“The Democrat Party is a sewer”
Well some brave (or calculating) Democrat needs to step up from the sewer, if not because it’s the right thing to do, then out of a sense of personal ambition.
It's a reminder that demons are everywhere.
Tim Walz is a really good example.
This is a moment when someone could save the Democratic party in name only by completely abandoning and denouncing most of the ghouls, but that won't happen.
From Daily mail interview with trained sniper

He said the amphitheater-like site was a 'buffet feast' for any shooter, pointing out how much easier it is to hit a target when shooting down from a roof.
He said: 'The security was super light, no crime at that school. So I guess the threat was low apparently.
'That's a buffet for someone who wanted to kill someone. It looked like a fishbowl, like an amphitheater, and high ground is money for shooters. Shooting down is easy.'
He continued: 'When you have events like that you look at the security, if you push 250, 300 yards, it's an easy shot.
'And not to mention out in the open, wind is low out in the country. It's not like in the city where a bullet flying past the buildings will move more.'
He added: 'Any bloke can go to the range three or four times and make that shot.
This was one shot, that was it.'
'In my opinion they had a plan.

According to Grok “Suppressors are heavily regulated under the National Firearms Act.”
They are also very simple to make.

These rifles are even legal in the UK.
I asked Grok of we're in a state of war.
Grok:

Oh fuck no.
These rifles are even legal in the UK.

If guns caused political violence, there would already be a lot of dead Communists in the streets.
These things don’t usually work long term. In Salem they executed some “witches,” and now the city is the witch capitol of the United States.

There are two Americas now. Both believe strongly that the other is evil and means them harm. Separate media environments has something to do with this but it’s not the exclusive cause. When you have to fight ideas with bullets, you’ve already lost the fight.
I'd like to remind everyone the words of Barack Obama, Nobel Peace Prize winner:
"Get in their faces."
"Punch back twice as hard."
"They bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun."
Those are the inspiring words that led to the events today. Democrats listen to their leaders. They act.
Good day for the Democrats. Very successful today. Charlie Kirk dead and the FBI can't find its own ass.
I’m playing the odds. There’s gotta be one smart ambitious Democrat out there. I bet a young Bill Clinton would have jumped at this opportunity.
I just realized that one of the 'journalists' who made asses of themselves over today's murder is named Katy Tur and is obviously a Democrat. So we can call her Katy Tur(D)!

On MSNBC Matthew Dowd was asked for his thoughts about the Charlie Kirk shooting. He said “We don’t know if this was a supporter shooting their gun off in celebration. So we have no idea about this.”
As of tonight he is no longer employed by MSNBC.
Matthew Dowd worked for George Bush and that harridan Nicole Wallace on MSNBC worked for John McCain. What does that tell you about the GOPe.

Senator John Kennedy told everyone that early in Trump's term when he said that the GOP's new strategy was to just keep the Democrats talking. Trump has kept that up and done a very masterful job of it as well.

“Mamdami was born in Uganda”
Minor inconvenience. Obama can help him out on that score.
That man was appointed to his position by the Democrat Governor of Minnesota.

The thought of having to maintain the vast masses of Fortran you would need... Well, I guess we have India, but we will need half of it probably.
Do you see how these terrorists work now?
It should also be noted that Minnesota Democrat assassin Vance Boelter, who killed 3 people in a Democrat terrorist attack, alleged he was hired by Minnesota Democrat Tim Walz.
The FBI still has not interviewed Walz.
A Democrat needs to step up and propose that we all - Democrats especially- out of a sense of unity as a country ....

JSM

The FBI must focus on finding who faked Donald Trump’s signature on the Epstein drawing. That’s why ICE must lead the manhunt in Utah.
It’s what Charlie would have wanted.
Crass joke about an assassination. We are the ones we were waiting for.
🔝Our politics seems to be entering a phase of "right supremacy" where only the lives of right-wingers have value. Assassinating the leader of a state legislative body in her own damn home was business as usual, but all of America has to have a reckoning if it's a far-right online influencer.
Methinks the troll doth protest too much.
