Some ABC affiliates had had enough.

I seem to remember Monday Night Football had a season with Kimmel as a commenter. He was an ass**le then and he is one now. Not having watched any of these guys, my impression has been that the lower the ratings the more they depended on snark to get them through.

Is cable television under FCC jurisdiction......I take issue with one point of Maher's monologue. I don't know from Limbaugh, but I am a heavy Gutfeld user. He doesn't pound on his own tribe that much, true. But he does bring together varying viewpoints. On the Five, he has Dem Harold Ford Jr and libertarian Kennedy. On Gutfeld!, he has libertarian Kat Timpf and biracial curmudgeon Tyrus, along with special guests. And he facilitates dialogue among them. For example, during the Kimmelfluffle, the libertarians were drawing a hard line against any spectre of government content regulation, while other flavors of righties thought turning the Left's tools against them was rather nice. The quote above is part of an argument against affirmative action. Since AA, by definition, puts blacks in positions that on merit they would not otherwise have, then that poisons the well for all blacks getting those positions.
Which is precisely the same argument that Clarence Thomas has made.
Now, you very well disagree with this argument, but that is no matter: it is about a policy, not a race. It is not racist. The word "racist" has a clear meaning, which progressives relentlessly abuse: if you say something that involves race, no matter how little it has to do with race per se, and progressives don't like it, then that is racist.
