"Charlie always believed that God's design for marriage and the family was absolutely amazing.... Over and over he would tell all these young people to come and find their future spouse..."
"... become wives and husbands and parents, because he wanted you all to experience what he had and still has. He wanted everyone to bring heaven into this earth through the love and joy that comes from raising a family.... My husband laid down his life for me, for our nation, for our children; he showed the ultimate and true covenantal love.... I honestly have no idea what any of this means — I know that God does, but I don't — but Charlie, baby, I know you do too. So does our Lord.... The evildoers responsible for my husband's assassination have no idea what they have done. They killed Charlie because he preached a message of patriotism, faith, and of God's merciful love. But... if you thought that my husband's mission was powerful before, you have no idea what you have just unleashed across this entire country and in this world. You have no idea the fire that you have ignited within this wife. The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.... The movement my husband built will not die.... No one will ever forget my husband's name, and I will make sure of it. It will become stronger, bolder, louder, and greater than ever...."

Charlie would be very happy with the effect his death is having and will have, and as bad as it is, I think he would be understanding of the hate as well. He would forgive and feel sympathy for those so broken. On both counts, he outshines us all.

If Coretta and Rosa could get paraded around for a half century to shame people out of dissent, certainly Erika can do the same. She has close to 70 years ahead of her unless some other commie sends her to join Charlie (z’’l). JSM

“ Being guided by God doesn't make you right, just oblivious to your mistakes.”
That’s preposterous! Bring guided by God - truly guided - does make you right, provided you carefully follow the guidance. It also doesn’t make you blind to your mistakes because, first of all, you will never truly be guided by God until you are keenly aware of your own fallibility and weakness, and humble yourself and rely on God to show you the right way.

The haters are broken and hurting themselves and everyone around them. They are truly sad and worthy of pity.
They must not be allowed to freely drag other people down with them.
They are a gangrenous appendage that cannot be be kept.

The Left is trying to distance and sanitize themselves from the killing to reclaim the political legitimacy the assassination has cost them. You can see it even in the Althouse comment threads.
They are taking down the videos of their celebrations and trying to make it appear Charlie was killed “by his own.”
This woman breaks it all down here.
Erika’s speech last night was important to reaffirm the narrative and not let them legitimize their actions and distance themselves from Charlie’s murder.
so called antifa, they are the offspring of the panthers and the weathermen, with cross pollination from the brigatte rossi and the rote armee faktion
There were two things I noticed. First is that every time she mentioned who killed him she used the plural. Second is that her references to the Lord had a very Protestant ring to them even though she is reportedly a devout Catholic.
no he's not very self aware, there is a difference between righteous anger and melodrama
Nice. A bullet to the throat in front of her children, and her next-day reaction, instead of being respected with a shred of kindness is a 'soap opera'. What a pathetic, miserable, sad bastard. A walking husk, pretending humanity.
This matter of marriage and children is one I heartily endorse. Nothing has made me happier. I see or speak with my children and know it was all worth it.

To his everlasting credit, Kirk was a Good Word Charlie.
Not trying to be hyperbolic, but going forward the SYMBOL of Charlie Kirk is likely to be orders of magnitude more influential than the living man ever was. For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind.
Powerful message from a powerful woman. A woman of faith. Nonbelievers wouldn’t understand.
Jesus was killed because of his words. The Christian movement was not crushed upon Jesus death but spread around the world.
Religion is an allegory of secular moral truths, things that work because of the way humans are built. It codifies them. To the extent it gets those right, the religion is attractive even to those who don't understand the basis of it all.
To be guided by God is to stay with the moral truths, not whatever feeling you come up with at the moment.
Crushing the left isn't a moral truth. Kirk, reportedly, took the route of politeness. But the moral truth is that you have to take the route of sympathy. That's a mistake that God talk blinds you do.

I’m Catholic, but I play for Catholic and Methodist congregations. I have a weird ambition. That’s to play organ and lead a Gospel band and chorus in a gigantic, nationwide outdoor tent revival tour. How to find support? The Methodist church has suffered thru a terrible schism over the gay/trans madness, and its clergy can only see themselves playing defense against the inevitable demise of the denomination.

If you want to get into an Is vs Ought discussion that requires normative principles. What is the normative principle that requires us to show sympathy?
This means that we must balance the interests of 2 different people. You need to justify why we should put the interests of the murderer and associates above our own interests.
What normative principle do you use to assert their interests are more important than ours?

"Charlie Kirk wasn’t a fascist. They don’t kill you for being fascist. They call you a fascist so they can kill you."
yes John Wesley would not recognize his old Church, part of what secularism has wrought
Peachy: "They tried to have a moment of Silence in the House chamber - and the democrats could not do it."
It's more nuanced than that. The moment of silence was observed on both sides of the aisle. Then it was over. The Speaker himself ended the silence by recognizing Boebert, who moved to have an audible prayer. Then the shouting started. The Dems noted the lack of Republican prayers at school etc. shootings, while Ana Paulina Luna shouted back at them "Y'all caused this!"
So the Dems were okay with a moment of silence. They just weren't okay with Saying His Name in a prayer.
Here is the CSPAN footage, which doesn't capture what was said, but does give you the sequence of events:

There's no distance between IS and OUGHT, like there's no distance between PARIS and FRANCE. They're different things.
IS is subject to stuff you can settle. OUGHT is the position you're taking responsibility for. Moral arguments seldom end in agreement except on what each side holds a stand on. That's the point of moral arguments. It's not a failure. IS arguments that don't settle on something are failures.
As to moral truths, that's a matter of giving the other guy a claim on you. It's moral because it calls you out, addresses you. Before that, you're interchangeable and non-unique.
Hence the shortcut: every man is the Messiah.
I am going to help rhhardin out a little.
We have 2 groups with opposing interests. One side wants a more capitalist free market society and the other wants socialism.
In order for the socialist system to prevail they demand the right to censor by force.
The other side does not want to be forcibly censored.
I don’t believe that one side should be allowed to forcibly censor the other side.
Your job is to make a normative argument.
Thought of another similarity between 9/11/2001 and 9/10/2025: On Sept 12, 2001, one billion Muslims were really worried that they would be nuked. Surely this would be the reaction of the world's most powerful country? After all, that's what a nuclear Sultanate would do. When we didn't do it, our mercy was interpreted as weakness. And indeed, our reactions, even though they involved two wars that may have killed six digits of people, somehow wound up too weak.
On Sept 11, 2025, fifty million American leftists were really worried that the Right, including the MAGA President, would actually go full fascist. Surely that would be the reaction of such evil people, holding all the levers of national power, when you kill their thought leader and personal friend? After all, that's what the Dems would do.
I hope our mercy is not similarly interpreted as weakness. And that our legal, proportional reactions will actually be proportional - i.e., damaging their movement in a way that deters and incapacitates future occurrences. JSM

Erika Kirk is not a devout Catholic, she is an evangelical Christian. Her family was Catholic and I don't know why she became a Protestant. But I do know why this false story is being circulated - to limit her influence and thereby to cripple Turning Point. Evangelicals are the Christian heirs to the Puritan believers who founded this country. They are currently in the midst of a spiritual revival and Charlie Kirk was drawing people to Christ as part of his mission. It's quite important that people move past the idea that the Puritans were bigots in funny hats when they founded this country. Instead in their springtime, they were people who actually heard the Gospel teaching of a redeeming Savior. They thought that Catholics and Anglicans were muffling up or actually destroying this message by substitutig an institutional structure which was corrupt because it was not founded by Christ. Some thought that they could slowly reform the Anglican church so that eventually it would get rid of bishops, priests and the whole institutional structure including the King. And some thought that they could not cooperate in their lives with the existing structure and of these thousands went to New England in the years between 1630 and 1636. Out of their convictions they drew up the Mayflower Compact and the other founding documents written during the 150 years of Puritan life in New England that preceded the formation of the US. Free Speech for one's true conscience was an essential part of these developments. These same convictions were the cause behind the emigration of many other Protestant groups to America but it was mainly in New England which founded universities right away that these convictions were taught as part of divinity and law before this country was actually organized. So evangelical awakenings are returns to the source and are important in our history and politics and Charlie Kirk was shot to stop one, as I see it.
It's another story how these Puritan beliefs in their political manifestation became sufficiently universal so that Catholics could support a country founded by people who hated them. But it happened and when we Catholics fought in the Civil War we proved we knew what this country was. We didn't just act as if we had a right to abuse every legal process and insult the Protestant founders.
Behold: the modern Democratic Party
I have no sympathy for corruption and lies.

Would be nothing wrong with it if it were, but it wasn't a rosary. It was a plain cross pendant on a chain, which she gave Charlie (RIP) before they were married. He wore it all the time, to include the day of his martyrdom. So it is kind of a bloody shirt. Bit more proper than Jesse Jackson wearing MLK's.

You’ve screwed the pooch, hardin. But no treats for you.
No one should be killed for their politics, and his family’s grief is real. At the same time, I think it’s fair to acknowledge that Kirk was a central figure in a movement that thrives on outrage, grievance, and division. I never wanted harm to come to him — I mostly ignored him, or sometimes argued back. But I do see his rhetoric as part of a continuation of strategies like Atwater’s Southern Strategy, which stoke resentment instead of dialogue. I know many of us who aren’t in the MAGA camp simply want to live in peace and still have the freedom to speak our minds. The danger is that political violence risks turning every disagreement into a battle line, and that’s a road none of us should want to go down. Yet, that is where Trump is openly stating to take that road.
Wildswan: "Catholics could support a country founded by people who hated them."
Yes, as a half-Italian former RC, I can confirm this. Nearly my whole block were WW2 veterans. And the stereotyped parochial schools, stalked by ruler-wielding nuns and brothers, weren't really about Catholic indoctrination. Your grandma could do that. Rather, they were about American indoctrination. That ruler got swung for English grammatical and rhetorical mistakes. And for failing to observe basics of American culture. All the virtues of industrial civilization: proper dress, promptness, respect, working as part of a greater good. The kids were educated to the highest level they could reach, so they could get the best job they could and become part of the system. Not hang around for the infidels to give them a check. CC, JSM

“… I say unto you, be one; and if ye are not one ye are not mine.
28 And again, I say unto you that the enemy in the secret chambers seeketh your lives.
29 Ye hear of wars in far countries, and you say that there will soon be great wars in far countries, but ye know not the hearts of men in your own land.
30 I tell you these things because of your prayers; wherefore, treasure up wisdom in your bosoms, lest the wickedness of men reveal these things unto you by their wickedness, in a manner which shall speak in your ears with a voice louder than that which shall shake the earth; but if ye are prepared ye shall not fear.
31 And that ye might escape the power of the enemy, and be gathered unto me a righteous people, without spot and blameless…”

"What hope have we without you?" asks Aragorn after Gandalf is pulled into the abyss in Moria. And then, his grief expressed, he turns to those whom he must lead: "We must do without hope,’ he said. ‘At least we may yet be avenged." *
But Aragorn does not permanently lose all hope, and vengeance never becomes an important motivation. Those were the words that needed to be said at the moment of crisis, when it is a leader's greatest responsibility to prevent the collapse of his followers' morale. There will be time later for more subtle but sustainable motivation.
Mrs. Kirk appears to have the instincts of a true leader.
Those who encouraged and applauded her husband's martyrdom should fear her.

“Erika Kirk is not a devout Catholic, she is an evangelical Christian. Her family was Catholic and I don't know why she became a Protestant. But I do know why this false story is being circulated - to limit her influence and thereby to cripple Turning Point.”
My understanding is that the family belongs to the Dream City Church, based in N PHX (about mile or so above the 101 freeway off of Cave Creek), with I think 10 campuses (6 in AZ), including one in Scottsdale, off of Pima about halfway between the 101 and Carefree. Those two campuses are 15-20 minutes apart (Cave Creek to Dynamite, and across to Pima).
It’s an evangelical church, and that may be part of why Erika converted from Catholicism, where the rigid structure of the church makes changing with the times much more difficult. Mention was made of the Puritans, and one of their legacies was local church governance. You get a bunch of people together, and they hire a minister. In the 1600s and 1700s in New England, each village had a church, and their theology and practiced might differ slightly from that of the next village over.
Truer and more timeless words never spoken, Quayle @10:30AM
murderer is antifa.
What was interesting to me is their understanding of Scriptures. Watched a debate last night between Charlie and someone else on Christian nationalism. He string cited (from memory) a series of Old Testament verses supporting nationalism. His opponent cited one New Testament verse, and they got into a discussion of the relationship between the two Books. He was impressive. But Erika is the one with a doctorate in theology.
“ murderer is antifa.”
Imagine my surprised face. Except that so far, I might not go further than AntiFA adjacent. Routinely communicating with AntiFA and adjacent members. But maybe not yet full fledged AntiFA.
Keep in mind that AntiFA fought in the streets of German cities against Nazi Brownshirts for control of European socialism. They were the communists’ paramilitary wing, and were thus controlled and funded by the Soviet Union. With the fall of the Soviet Union, their loyalty switched to the PRC. This loyalty can be seen at times, with the Red Chinese hammer and sickle painted on their helmets and ballistic shields, along with a modified version of their almost 100 year old AntiFA symbol.
To summarize, AntiFA is a Red Chinese affiliated paramilitary group trying to destroy this country from within. They are our enemy, and the enemy of every truly patriotic American.

“The Guardian updated an article on September 12, 2025, to remove quotes describing Tyler Robinson as a "leftist" after the source, an anonymous former classmate, said they could not accurately remember details of their relationship with him. The newspaper's live blog and related articles now reflect this clarification.
Details about the retracted claims:
Original claim: A high school friend of Robinson's, who remained anonymous, was quoted as saying Robinson was "pretty left on everything" and "the only member of his family that was, like, really leftist".
Reason for retraction: The source later contacted The Guardian to say they could no longer verify the accuracy of their memories of their high school relationship with Robinson.
Current state: The quotes were removed from the article, and an editor's note was added to specify that the quotes were deleted "after the verified source... said after publication that they could not accurately remember details of their relationship".

Real reason for the retraction: threats by leftists around her.
She remembered exactly what she remembered. She was just told she better check her memory or else.
It is shocking to me how depraved people like Inga are and how determined they are to change the truth so that they can justify their murderous bullshit.
THEY will get what THEY will deserve. In the long run.

Following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, you guys may be the only faction in American politics who can move to prevent a hot civil war from happening."
"That means that you're going to need to break with the hard Left. Don't buy the myth. Denounce Antifa terrorism. Withdraw your support from Democratic politicians who celebrate and excuse assassination."

I read this twat's message. He starts it out with: "I don't like Charlie Kirk."
He also adds in some excuses for why it is OK to not like Charlie Kirk.
He is worse than the antifa murderers. He is a dishonest coward who gives them cover and has been for decades.
All of the decent people on the left are already Trump supporters. Trump is a JFK democrat and RFK jr and Tulsi Gabbard are a part of the Trump administration.
He can surrender. That's about it.

That wasn't a rosary she was holding. That was the simple, silver cross necklace Charlie wore daily.

“Some Protestants, particularly in higher church traditions like Anglicanism and Lutheranism, use rosaries or prayer beads as a meditative tool to focus on prayer, with modifications to avoid praying to Mary or the Saints.”
I find a lot of people would be lost at "higher church traditions". I find if I'm I'm talking to an evangelical trying to convert me who is from a "low church" that they've no clue.
There is no set definition as to whether a Protestant church is high, middle, or low. Generally, the closer the church organization and service is to Roman Catholic, the higher it is. Anglican, Episcopalian, and some Lutheran are high churches. Methodist and similar middle. And if they dance in the aisles and speak in tongues during the service- they're a low church.
I'm finding it increasingly common that some low churches don't identify as Protestant, with members insisting they're "Christian", not identifying with any other traditions at all, or any denomination. Often, the leader of such churches is a self proclaimed minister with no official ordination.
It's worth repeating. After Pearl Harbor the architect of the attack, Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto is supposed to have said that he feared they had only awakened a sleeping giant, and filled it with a terrible resolve.
Worth remembering and repeating.
Has Inga ever been right about anything?
I couldn't watch the whole thing. There is something cringy about her. I'm sorry if I'm offending anybody. I'm just sharing honestly.
Since the framework of a subversive organization is beginning to take shape in the fog - ANTIFA and Trans-tifa and transgender activistism, and the usual Progressive Democrat litanies - perhaps it's time to being wondering whether a campaign of violence could be designed, with increasing activity, with the same linked organizations as the well-supplied Floyd riots, to hopefully trigger an application of martial law - just in time to be made nicely unpopular, for the purpose of midterms. Electioneering will be starting soon, and issues are wanting - if you're a Democrat.
If an awakening and realignment of conservatives actually happens, when people start to view this conflict in a hard-eyed way, the way that one man sizes up another before the punches start, they're going to come to a conclusion about the Hard Left: However loud and obnoxious these pink-haired, tattooed & pierced, flabby weirdos might be, they mostly stand out in a crowd. However effective their dirty tricks have been against the unprepared and unaware, a mostly peaceful and tolerant crowd, there are actually not very many of them, compared to us. There are even fewer with actual battle-hardened experience, compared to us, who are now motivated to solve the problem.
Lem: "I couldn't watch the whole thing. There is something cringy about her. I'm sorry if I'm offending anybody. I'm just sharing honestly."
That's understandable. She is literally a beauty queen (Miss Arizona-USA), still with a lot of that way about her. I personally never like the whisper-to-indicate-emotional-intensity thing that she was doing, because I usually hear it from women who aren't really experiencing an emotion and just want to manipulate mine. But I stuck with the video because I know she really is in deep deep grief and all she can do at this point is string words together.
Maybe if you read a transcript? CC, JSM
Inga will stick to the "Robinson is rightwing" no matter what evidence you cite.
It seems Robinson was created in a lab to be the perfect left-wing villain. (I mean, carving messages on the shell casings? That's supervillain stuff.)
didn't mangione do the thing with the shell casings, as well
Effingayright: “Being guided by God doesn't make you right, just oblivious to your mistakes.
********************
So, people who don't believe in God are acutely aware of their mistakes?
Parse that out for us, will you?“
if A implies B that does not show that not A implies not B, make a truth table and you will see.
Yes, mangione put deny, delay, depose on his shell casings.
To refine my argument above, as a logic puzzle
• Original statement: If someone believes in God, they may be overconfident in their decisions and thus oblivious to mistakes (believing their actions are divinely sanctioned).
• Question: Does this mean that people who don’t believe in God are deeply aware of their mistakes? Not necessarily. An atheist could be oblivious to their mistakes for other reasons ( arrogance, lack of self-reflection), or they could be aware but not “acutely” so. The original statement doesn’t preclude non-believers from being oblivious, nor does it require them to have heightened awareness.
So the second statement does not follow from the first.
One man, one woman, and unPlanned babies... fetuses. No womb farms or sperm banks required. Evolutionary fitness is a prime directive across all religions (Her Choice... uh, choice).
it was painful for me the first time I heard Mrs. Kirk's comments. The second time I realized my pain had more to do with the fact that I do not talk about God and Jesus as freely and often as she, and her example made me a bit ashamed. I just finished "Gospeler" by Willie Robertson and between Erika and Willie I realize I am not centered enough in Christ. Anyone willing, please pray for me (Mike).
If you think we are one nation, read the “Charlie died” obituary in the execrable New York Times and the disgusting accompanying comments. “Too bad, but remember he was divisive.” The left is populated by illogical, immoral people and their silent enablers.
“Anyone willing, please pray for me (Mike).” You got it, Mike.
“Too bad, but remember he was divisive.”
If you (in general, not directed at anyone specifically) disagree with something Charlie Kirk advocates, that means Charlie Kirk disagrees with you.
Why aren't *YOU* the divisive one?
“Too bad, but remember he was divisive.”
"If you say things we don't like, remember- we might kill you for it."
Maybe I’m horribly naive but I think a civil war is quite unlikely. It’s one thing to say scary and threatening things anonymously on a blog. Quite something else to start shooting people you think are on the “radical left”.
Achilles- you don’t have the courage. Incite others to commit violence is about all you can do. Makes you feel tough I guess.
Quite something else to start shooting people you think are on the “radical left”
When I woke up Wednesday morning, I would have thought shooting someone like Charlie Kirk for being on the "radical right" would have been "quite something else. I was wrong.
Charlie wasn't my cup of tea, but he was very effective. In his Biblical authority mode, he reminded me of the Campus Crusade for Christ folks from the mid 60s at my high school. Like many evangelicals, he was very conversant with both the Old and New Testaments (my church tended to focus on the New Testament). He was a great listener and very good at meeting people at the crossroads.
I think that a generation starved for meaning and mired in materialism needs more of the spiritual material that Charlie offered. He clearly wanted to have a new Great Awakening.

Conservatives don't want to kill other conservatives. It's desperation by the corrupt left.
Meanwhile Nancy Pelosi is fine with her and her vile party's violence inspiring rhetoric.

Once again, it turns out that what Robinson wrote on his bullet casings was not secret right-wing code.
"Notices bulge, oWo, what's this?" was a reference to his trans partner/roommate, who is also a furry.
You can all apologize to the ATF now. That includes the NYTs.
@bennyjohnson
Just spoke with top FBI official who made it very clear that they have NOT ruled out co-conspirators in Charlie Kirk’s assassination:
“That assumption is premature. This investigation is just beginning. An enormous amount of evidence has been seized both digital and physical.”
FBI sources assure me the public will “know everything” about the dark internet history, chats and affiliations of Kirk’s left-wing political assassin.
The source then alluded to some online groups attempting to delete or destroy evidence.
“We have everything. We are focused on the radicalization element. The truth will not be hidden, or buried or classified. The public will know.”

Peachy says;
”Conservatives don't want to kill other conservatives. It's desperation by the corrupt left.
Meanwhile Nancy Pelosi is fine with her and her vile party's violence inspiring rhetoric.”
Not meaning to get into the elementary level of insults but I’ve pretty much written Peachy and Achilles off as out of touch cultists but for whoever might fall for their gaslighting, let’s come down to earth (or up from the rabbit hole) and face the light of day realities.
Thomas Matthew Crooks, killed after attempting to assassinate Trump in Pennsylvania last year, was reportedly a registered Republican. Ryan Routh, who tried to shoot Trump in FL was aligned to MAGA and once supported him. Tyler Robinson came from a MAGA family. So when you say conservatives aren’t wanting to kill other conservatives, that doesn’t square with the facts.
I'm sure this wasn't the beginning but it was my first realization that politics as practice by Dems is dirty (and yeah, I know there are R's that act the same but I think they are on the margins). This is how we got where we are.
