J.K. Rowling has a useful list, at X, where she also engages with many of her commenters.
It's a long list, so go to the link. I'll just highlight one item, the belief "[t]hat gay people shouldn’t be pressured to include the opposite sex in their dating pools, nor should they be smeared as ‘genital fetishists’ when they don’t?"
६२ टिप्पण्या:
She’s 100% correct about this on:
That cross-dressing heterosexual male fetishists aren’t actually oppressed, but having the time of their lives piggybacking off gender identity ideology?
Yup
So according to JK, the worst thing about believing all this nonsense is it helps Trump and Lafarge. Or as she puts it:
"That said ideology, and the privileged, blinkered fools pushing it because they suffer zero consequences themselves, have done more damage to the political left’s credibility than Trump and Farage could have achieved in a century?"
To the left the worst thing is helping the enemy. Not the damage to real life human beings.

"Nothing upsets a weak man more than a woman who makes him feel his cowardice. This is as true of supposed iconoclasts who live in terror of losing the approval of the in-crowd as it is of domestic abusers."
One of her responses on X. Good enough to quote here
My, she does gets some good shots in.

I thought a fetish for genitals was rather the whole point of having sex?! Otherwise, it's technically just cuddling.
“…makes actors and directors who aren’t involved with the HBO reboot of Harry Potter so miserable…”
Makes it sound like heartfelt beliefs of these “actors and directors” can be bought.
No one brings incisive perspective like JK Rowling.

This has a lot to do with the female mindset in their development of female dominance hierarchies. Women can't face up and fight each other openly for dominance. Their tools are restricted and focus on interpersonal alliances.
Thus signals of social support for anything a female competitor does has more weight than a man supporting another man.
A man can agree with another man on something and still go kick his ass. We would have Karate and Jiu Jitstu tournaments for days trying to do all but kill each other then go to the after party and get drunk together. Soldiers can behave the same way.
Women cannot do this. Political is personal to them. Their social structures and dominance hierarchies create a mentality that forces conformity.
RCOCEAN, if you read her feed that's definitely not the most important thing. Rather helping Trump et al is something opponents accuse her of doing. So she is countering that. Of course she definitely is otherwise liberal. Shows she cares about the issues more than the political alignment
I dont think that has to do with "women". Its Leftists. They think "betraying the party" is the worst thing ever. Read "Darkness at Noon" for an example.
Transgender spectrum (e.g. homosexuals, bisexuals, simulants).
Transvestites are transsocial with a homosexual fetish, a rebellious agenda, a mocking attitude, a minority market.
Not so sure about women remaining a "protected class," at least in this country all stats show they have it pretty damned good.

Female patterns work well in small groups.
Male patterns work better in larger groups.
Putting together a kingdom means gaining the support of many dukes. Each of these warlords will fight the other warlords at any point, but they feel as if their position is better served under a man who is higher in the hierarchy so they compromise to one level or another. They all understand that the ultimate authority derives from who can kick whose ass.
This doesn't work in the long house where a group of women pool resources to raise children and keep food on the table for the domninant males. At any point the dominant male can come home and change the hierarchy they form. There are no clear rules or power bases.
The usual solution to female dominance battles is all of the women tell the lord one woman is causing problems. This lasted for 1000's of years. These patterns have millennia of reinforcement and 100 years of "democracy" don't have much affect on them unless we understand them.
In the west, most men still follow the gentleman and lady protocol, equal and complementary.
Hoist with her own petard:
“That women shouldn’t be harassed, persecuted or fired for refusing to pretend humans can change sex?”
The line "more damage to the political left’s credibility than Trump and Farage could have achieved in a century" is extremely effective rhetoric aimed at people on the left, who are the ones she's in a big argument with. People on the right already reject the transgender ideology.
The question is what is Rowling's real commitment. I think and hope it is to women's rights and not to the political left generally.
I enjoy following her for her witty and commonsense brush offs to the endless stream of unhinged Leftists who attack her on X.

High status Women are the driving force behind the left and the left's attempts to sterilize and neuter the offspring of as many low status females as possible.
It is interesting watching you all complain about this with no self awareness.
Lack of concern for men's spaces is a major blindspot in her thinking. And should men, who also have "sex-specific needs and interests" also be a "protected class"? Applied to women, the term sounds patronizing and paternalistic.
She might also consider whether grown men in dresses are the only ones "piggybacking" off identity ideologies. Isn't that the whole point of such ideologies now? That those who might not have been oppressed in their own lives now receive the victim card and the benefits that go with it?
Is the pansexualist movement really leaping from science fiction into today's politics? Will everyone in the future be required to add people of all sexes and genders to their "dating pools"? Will humanity finally overcome "genital fetishism" or is it "hardwired" into our systems?
And if nobody can tease lesbians about not having relationships with dudes in dresses, what will people do for fun then?
"extremely effective rhetoric aimed at people on the left, who are the ones she's in a big argument with. People on the right already reject the transgender ideology."
The problem is that it isn't ideology. Its a tenant of their religion. Rowling is an apostate.
"I think and hope it is to women's rights and not to the political left generally." I hope so, too, but in view of the Farage lefty virtue signal I'm not sure. In Britain, Muslim "grooming" gangs, Islam generally, and third-world "asylum" seekers are a far greater threat to women's rights than prog trans fads. Farage proposes to end the invasion and start deportations. In Britain, being left means not just being pro-trans but being pro-immmigration a pro-Muslim, subordinating women's rights. Will JKR also deal with the bigger threats as honestly as she has dealt with trans issues?
The people preaching about "tolerance" for "choices" are the most intolerant about what others may believe, say or do.
"That women should not be threatened with violence and rape when they assert their rights?"
This. The rhetoric the trans-activists on the internet hurl at women who assert the right to safe places for women in prisons, shelters, and rape crisis centers is very violent and sexual. It proves the point their adversaries are making!
She's right, and where she assumes semantic liberties or inconsistencies consistent with the modern family, they are a lesser transgression to the liberal license wielded by the left for profit and leverage in their religious war on men, women, boys, girls, and babies.
Adults can consent to gender simulation and grooming services at their expense, and no one should be coerced to share their responsibility.
Lazarus, she has spoken positively about male-only voluntary groups and clubs. I hope that puts your mind to rest regarding her consistency. This post is about a certain battle. Yancey, you said it. What the heck is Charles of the Bank Left even talking about?
Great list. The woman is tough and smart.
I thought a fetish for genitals was rather the whole point of having sex?! Otherwise, it's technically just cuddling.
Comment of the day.
Claiming you’re doing more damage than Trump. That’s gotta hurt…
I liked her response to people burning her books: go ahead and burn them. I already have your money.
Has Rowling commented yet about the Scottish Axe Girl? I have not been able to find anything. RR, JSM

One wonders how many idiots bought her books just do they could burn them.
Anthony Jeselnik on the social awkwardness problem in taking somebody to get an abortion, especially if you're a comedian.
You don't know the full range and depth of JK Rowlings thinking unless you read her detective series. Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott investigate in 21st century Britain. Each book takes place in a cetain social segment - fashion society, book publishing/ writing, the police and killers, the NHS, utopian communities, online creators. No one can follow Cormoran and Robin's struggles and think JK Rowling has a simplistic or anti-masculine outlook. True, she's not a self-blinded zombie leftist so the left calls her a fascist but she is a leftist. For one thing, she can't create a Christian character, or, rather, her Christians are celebrated for their secular virtue.
Her latest book, The Hallmarked Man, will be out tomorrow and can be purchased on Amazon through the Althouse portal. I've been re-reading the series so that I can extract every drip of significance from the new book. But, honestly, so far she is only moving to the right in the sense that, having an independent mind, more and more of the left hates her.
Go, axe girl. If the Right had any balls, we would be lobbying to protect and save her and have her entire family made legal citizens of Americe.
A thing that bothers me is this use of "sad" and "saddened" when what the "sad" person means is "infuriated." Own your anger.
It's like the stupid Coexist bumper stickers and the Hate Has No Home Here signs. Really, guys?
Jamie, of course not. They absolutely do hate the right wing normies.
they follow the Vizzini rule, 'they don't know the words they are using'
Rowling really does need an editor, her last volume could cause a hernia,
Andy Ngo reports the MN shooter's mother was against his transition but felt pressured to OK his name change. She's a Catholic pro-life activist who moved to Florida soon after, and the divorced dad is a secular lefty with the big chin. Odd that I'd seen nothing about him before. This doesn't fit the Hollywood profile of cluster B mom showing off her special child, rather early-onset autogynephilia.
J.K. Rowling is an International Treasure.
I just applied to sponsor axe girl and her family in America. I know the system, so we'll see what happens. Anyone speak Scots -Gaellic?

Actually, it's unlikely that much Gaelic is spoken in Dundee these days. Instead they speak a Scots dialect of English which is barely more comprehensible to an American ear.
There are competing narratives about the ax girl. It would seem easy enough to verify one or the other, but, to my knowledge, no newspaper has taken the trouble.....If I were betting on likely scenarios, I would bet on the one presented by the girl and her mother, but right now there are too many dangling participles to pass sentence.

While I heartily approve of Axe Girl’s actions, I wouldn’t be at all surprised to find that her family are the worst kind of leprous chav-shitheel parasites. Not sure I’d invite them over without a thorough vetting.

She told him he would regret it.
Anyway, expect all people blaming the mother and wanting her punished to offer apologies.
Including a couple of commenters here.

Interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if her family were decent god fearing, law abiding people who raised a daughter who was willing to risk her well being to protect little sister.
“Interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if her family were decent god fearing, law abiding people who raised a daughter who was willing to risk her well being to protect little sister.”
Perhaps, but the most feral of the working-classes are often the most combative. Across all ages. That said, historically, they’re usually the cannon fodder that’s the salvation of many a worthy cause.
All credit to her for not caving, but in addition to her spine, Rowling does has a huge blind spot with regard to the misogyny and abuse of women that the post-2010 wave of "migrants" has been bringing to the UK. There are literally an order of magnitude more rapes in the UK than there were at the height of the last panic, but for some reason (is it because the rapists aren't hypothetical blond, blue-eyed Oxbridge athletes?) no high-profile feminists seem to care.
While I keep 'the Left' out of my X timeline pretty assiduously, JKR is certainly in it.
I read the list. I didn't see anything on it that hasn't also been written/said by millions of folks that are, like her, opposed to so-called trans rights stuff. Zero interesting or novel insights from her in this list. IMHO.
I know that she's a famous writer, hence I'm assuming that I should expect brilliant thoughts from her. But there are none in this list. Maybe her speciality is writing for simple minds since she writes books for kids. IDK.
What I didn't like about Rowling's list is that she's only concerned about the AGP MtF effect on women, not the thousands of disturbed young people permanently ruining their bodies and lives--and the people who enable them.

Not sure what you’re talking about. I’m pretty sure Ms Rowling does not believe that Polyjuice Potion exists in real life.
And only once in the books do we see a cross-gender transformation: In the final book in the scene where several people, including a couple of women, take on the appearance of Harry Potter to confuse the Death Eaters.

It’s clear from your posts that you are not a famous writer. Clarity, not brilliance, is needed here.
Dolores Umbridge is one of the best villians in literature and especially so because she epitomizes the current kind of villainy that has taken over the UK. She's brilliant but a clear and readable writer, which rarely go together.
Sadly there's no Lewis or Tolkien around to share their story told faith with her.
Villains. Alas.
“Actually, it's unlikely that much Gaelic is spoken in Dundee these days. Instead they speak a Scots dialect of English which is barely more comprehensible to an American ear.”
It gets more complicated than that. In the lowland areas, the nearly incomprehensible dialect of English that they speak preserves the sounds - but none of the words - of the nearly extinct Scots language. The Scots language derives from variants of Middle English spoken by the descendants of Saxon settlers in northern England and southern Scotland. It is a sister of modern English.
Scots Gaelic speakers tend to be found in the highlands.
